Beautiful sunset with the Sound & Olympics...
    Ken L.

Was here for breakfast before & amazing, went full on with a filet cooked a perfect medium, very tender, although taste was just ok not really popping out, but adding the shrimp were very tasty, even the different potato fingers were tasty grilled with the nice sweet tasting onions. Once again the triple shot non-fat mocha with almond syrup (hardly anyone carries anymore but they do) complimented the meal with the pure tasting water. And even started my meal with a shot of Suntory Toki Whiskey, something not carried by most bars. Greeted up front very warm & welcoming, and server Holly was fantastic, nice to spoil myself every now and then and have a great experience & beautiful view of the sound & Olympics...

Delicious food with a lovely view. We had a great time at the waterfront restaurant at Alderbrook after a lovely massage at their spa. The service was timely and generally very good. I do have to comment that they add an automatic 20% service charge. While generally we had great service, there were exceptions. All in all great good with fair prices.

Went here for my wife's birthday. It is a beautiful setting on the water. It is very clean and nice. We dressed up for the occasion as this is a nicer restaurant. If you have kids, they tend to put you in the back corner overlooking the other patio restaurant that doesn't have that great of a view. The staff there are very nice and accommodating. They were very attentive at refilling our water. I do wish that our son could've stayed in his stroller as he was sleeping although they told us that he couldn't because they didn't have room for it. When we got to the table, they definitely would've been plenty of room out of the way for him to sleep in the stroller. We started with the Manila clams, which are featured in the picture attached to this review. The clams were probably the best thing we ordered. They came with sausage and other things like cherry tomatoes, and rosemary. We really enjoyed our drinks. I ordered the Huckleberry lemon drop martini which was delicious. My daughter ordered the lavender lemonade that she enjoyed. For our main course, my wife ordered halibut with a side of filet mignon. My daughter ordered the New York steak with mashed potatoes. I ordered the garlic pasta with chicken. They don't put a protein on the pasta that is an additional add on which makes it even more expensive. All of the food was not hot and barely warm. There seem to be a leg in between our appetizer and the main course. They brought all the food out except for my daughter's food and they had to go back for it. My daughter was looking forward to the mashed potatoes and she said they weren't good at all. I enjoyed my garlic pasta, although the day after I'm not feeling good given that it has so much garlic that my stomach cannot handle it. It was disappointing that for how much we paid the food wasn't warm and it could've been better. We were not able to stay for dessert as our toddler was struggling and we didn't want to disturb other guests, although we did want to try the s'mores torte. My wife mentioned that other people received a cupcake for their birthday, although she didn't get hers. They were aware of her birthday as I had mentioned it in the reservation. It's definitely not worth it for the price and it's really difficult to bring kids there. The location is beautiful and I enjoy the hood canal.

Our overall experience was great. Especially the view and the service. Some of our food matched that quality and some did not. The Halibut was a wonderful dish, cooked beautifully and well seasoned. My friend who ordered the ribeye was impressed with the cook. Very hard to get right in a restaurant. The bolognese was pretty good, but more tomato and ricotta than meat. The fried oysters were tender and crunchy, but almost no sauce on the plate. Disappointing. The ceasar salad had a quality white anchovy, but almost no flavor or dressing beyond that. A bowl of crispy romaine. The duck entree had great accompaniments in the beans and frisee. However, the duck itself had flabby skin and a 1/3" layer of fat I had to cut off. Additionally, it wasn't seasoned. The ice cream was very light and airy, and light on flavor as well. A shame the food didn't all measure up, but with that view and great service we still had a lovely evening.

Delicious, well balanced meal on the Hood Canal…read more Their chowder was AMAZING. Well balanced, colorful, depth of flavor, umami and textures hitting your mouth. I highly recommend it. My wife had the burger which was decent, and I had the rockfish bowl which came with smoked rockfish (delicious) complemented by kale, sweet potatoes, fluffy eggs, chives, and more. Healthy and good. What I love about the menu items here is that they offer very nutrient dense foods. I love their use of colors and vegetables in their dishes. Ambiance is a casual setting. You go to the counter and order food, pick up a bucket with a number on it, and they bring it to you. You find a seat outside by the water or in the restaurant. And you just enjoy the beautiful scenes. Service is spectacular. Very nice and they come and check on you regularly. Parking is relatively easy (there's a parking lot). We arrived around 11am on a Sunday and it was starting to fill up. Bathroom is cleaning meaning the kitchen is clean! This is on my list of places I'd come back to for sure.

For the springtime visit, it was amazing sitting outside in the sunshine. You order food at the checkout counter, and they bring your order out to you. The outdoor area is also dog friendly and you can walk around the marina or take a look at the neighboring gift shop. The food may seem a little pricey at first, but the quality is there. It is fresh. It is flavorful, and it is delicious. Parking can be a little bit of a pain, especially during the busy times.

The food is fresh, the portions generous, the staff friendly and with a vibe that often has us talking to our neighbors. We prefer the simple dishes that highlight the seafood. Prawns, crab, muscles, class steamed or as a cocktail. The dungeness crab bisque is great with lots of fresh dungeness. Thier seafood Louis trio is simple too much food for me. The prices are not cheep but reasonable for the quality and quantity. My only criticisms are meant to be constructive. The fact that they only open before 4 on the weekends is a bummer. Likewise, I do not understand why they do not have halibut and razor clams. Perhaps it is political, but I find it sad I have to go to Taylor Junction to get razor class. Halibut would be well suited for thier simple steaming techniques, and razor slams for the fried foods like prawns and cod. Companies such as Washington State Seafood located in Seabeck, WA over by the coast far away from the typical more populated cities in the Puget Sound have gotten creative with their selling methods. Off to the social media they went! In my case, I discovered them via an ad in Facebook. To facilitate distribution, WSS sets up different distribution "pick up" locations throughout the West Coast, primarily around state of WA, but recently extended to CA also. They also have mailing options too. The menus vary by date, pick up vs. mailing, depending on the availability and viable logistics. Thus far, I have had generic "shooters" oysters (that was the name on the website) and most recently had the Samish Pearls. I also placed an order for Purple Mountain shooters at a super duper deal of only $7.50 for a dozen! It's labeled as a 2 hour Bonus buy on the website. Score! The pickup process is very easy. Go to the location they identify (not always the same but somewhere in Seattle), give them your order number (name works too but they prefer the order number), they hand you the oysters in those stretchy mesh bags commonly used for seafood. You should bring a cooler or anything with an ice pack with you. At home, we use a shucking knife. Watch YouTube and learning to shuck to optimize your oyster eating experience. The most optimal way to shuck, we learned, is to wiggle the knife deep from one end to the next before lifting - preserving the briny water as much as possible! The taste - my oh my - it's SO FRESH! You're tasting the sea (in a good way) with every slurp of an oyster. Side note: We're simple when it comes to sauce, a squirt of fresh lemon juice and a squirt of tabasco sauce.
