    Dinner menu

I asked for a mojito but was told they have no mint. A few minutes later the chef comes over and offers to go to his house a few blocks away and get some mint for my mojito. What a deal and the mojito was delicious. I'm including dinner menu photos. BTW, they don't really do breakfast anymore.

Was anxious to give this place a try since always hitting the same spots in the Union, Hoodsport, Lilliwaup area. Went on Monday at 3:30, sat in the lounge area although dining is in same area. Was greeted by a friendly gal immediately. Was a bit disappointed that the lounge/rest. wasn't situated facing the beautiful golf course, or pond. We started off with a couple of cocktails, my hubby asked for the daily special (strawberry Mojito) and oddly the gal said "what, thats the special"? she wasn't even aware of the various food/drink specials posted on the reader board. Then I ordered a Long Island Tea and started off with Mozz. sticks on HH menu, 7.00. Oh I must mention we asked if oyster shooters were available and instead of going to find out she wanted to make excuses saying "I doubt it because I've never been asked for them before" so then we said since fried oysters were on the menu can you please find out from the kitchen so finally she did and comes back saying "yes, he can make them" so then of course we ask how much they were so we had idea of how many to order. So then she again wants to make assumptions saying "I'm sure they are same cost as a oyster dinner"...what, that made no sense. So since we were insistent she went to check on price. We didn't tell her this was our Anniversary celebration but we really wanted a nice meal and love raw oysters. She comes back saying " they are 5.00 EACH!!!" Our eyes shocked I said, "ok, this is exactly why we wanted to ask, because we've never paid that much per oyster, not even own at Alderbrook!" So either the chef didn't want to bother with them or she got info. wrong but highly doubt 5 bucks each, beyond rediculous. Ok, back to review, and we ended up ordering mozz. sticks, ugh. There was only one other table of diners at this time. For some reason it took her a good 10 mins. to bring our drinks. Upon arrival I knew Mojito was wrong because it was clear, so I reminded her it was strawberry flavored. So she took it back to correct and I tasted my tea cocktail, didn't taste right and had slight odd after taste but decided I'd just keep it not wanting to look like we were difficult diners. She came back with his drink but was really weak of strawberry flavor, tasted more like club soda w/hint of berry, almost tart tasting. She asked how my drink was, told her it wasn't quite right and she then admitted she's not a bar tender and that he/she should be starting shift soon, ugh. Our mozz sticks came out soon after, kind of expected 7 or 8 sticks since normally 8.50 but I guess at 7 bucks ok and they did taste homemade. We noticed at 4:00 they start serving dinner and the daily special for Mondays is their Date Night dinner for 2, 25.00! That night it was a shrimp linguine w/lemon caper sauce, garlic toast and 2 salads. So we were happy to give that a whirl. During the wait time hubby wanted coffee which they had set out as a self serve but when I went to get him a cup a different gal came to say a new pot needed to be made since it was still mornings coffee? So a new pot made a ready about 10 mins. later, but was good and only 1.00. I had decided to order a well drink, whiskey/soda. She brought it back and went to take a drink and it smelled of strong cinnamon!! Really?? So this time I had to send back, it about gagged me as I do not like cinnamon drinks and certainly wasn't expecting it. She just made some excuse saying it must have been a flavored whiskey. She brought it back, weak but whatever. First our salads came out, hubby standard green salad and I asked for a ceasar which I preferred. Both salads good. Next our bowl of shrimp pasta surrounded by lots of toasted garlic baguette slices. It looked visually pleasing and decent amount for both of us. I was afraid it might be coated in a heavy cream sauce but it was a nice fresh lemon/garlic/caper sauce. We were happy with the entire meal, the garlic toast yummy as well. We timed it right with it being the date night and having a selection we really enjoy. I'm giving 4 star due to food quality and value, although server friendly she had no business making cocktails and should never make her own assumptions when not knowing the correct answer. We thought given the poor drink experience she would have at least taken off one of them but didn't. At end of meal she came to collect the payment bringing a electronic pad system to the table asking for my card before even showing us any kind of bill receipt for us to view first? I was a bit offended by that. I asked if we could see the bill first but she said "sure, once you pay I will give you receipt", I then told I her I wanted to look at the bill BEFORE I pay, so then she simply holds up her pad instead of physically giving me a paper receipt to view privately with hubby, kind of rude and awkward we felt. So I just handed her my card, then she gave me pad to put in my tip! Again, awkward. I choose to pay cash tip once she walked without pressure.

Our go to dinner place. We live in Alderbrook, and the Clubhouse is like going to a friend's house for dinner!

TV's on each wall, & looks like a good place to go watch games. 2nd time visiting. Nice to see the two live Christmas trees outside the front of the entrance. I recently learned today that all businesses that have these Christmas trees, will donate them to a needy family that reside in our lovely Hoodsport community. Isn't that absolutely wonderful? We ordered a BLT subbed sweet potato fries and an 8 piece fried chicken and Jo's with macaroni salad for a side. We placed today's order to go and Kathy was very friendly and attentive. Being that it is Monday night football with the Eagles at Chargers, the place picked up business. The lively chatter was welcoming. A stark contrast to the quiet gift my Hoodsport neighborhood up the mountain offers every single day. I met the owner Eric, and Val who went straight to work in the grill area pumping out food. My husband liked his fried chicken , Jo's & macaroni salad. I asked him if money was not a concern, which chicken would he prefer, the Market or Model T? He quickly replied "without a doubt Model T!" It's pressure cooked to order and so juicy!" I had a taste of the Mac salad and it was delicious. One of the best macaroni salads I've tried. I enjoyed the BLT and the sweet potato fries. We did order a $9.99 bowl of the brisket barley soup. It was hearty, full of barley. I would prefer if it had more meat though. There were only tiny bits of meat in the to go container that had me questioning if it was a cup instead of the bowl I ordered. We have leftovers which is nice. And next time, I believe I'll order the taco salad. Val had just made one and its presentation was on point.

It is an older establishment and has standard decor. They have a lot of seating to accommodate large parties. They have quite a variety of options on the menu. The servers and waitresses sometimes come across like customer service isn't a priority, and it can be hard to get anyone's attention, without the two ladies serving acting like you're ruining their whole day asking for a refill. Not to s&#+ on the place, it actually use to be good for brunch and dinner, but Prices have definitely spiked, and unfortunately the quality of the food doesn't always match what you're paying for, or what you came expecting. Portions and consistency can vary, and overall I just don't come anymore unless it's to meet a family member as I live close. The outside view and backyard is the lake, and my family grew up on the lake, it's fun to fish and boat by there when the weather's nice! I added some nice pics, mabye my review will change in the future as I never rate a restaurant poorly, always truthful and take everything into consideration, and try to help others by explaining my experience as a local, and a use-to-be 2-3 times a week even if it was to sit at the bar snd pull some pull tabs. But yeah it's not what it was! There are some positives, but between the service issues, rising prices, and inconsistent food quality, it leaves a lot to be desired.
