    Farm-to-table restaurant with a seasonal menu. Everything from pizza cooked in their woodfire oven to fresh caught wild bass or oyster mushroom risotto. This is one of those diamonds in the rough. We ordered the wood-fired pizzas basil pesto, marguerite, and mushroom. They were all amazingly fresh and the flavors of all the ingredients married well. The basil pesto was everyone's favorite, followed by the Margherita, and then the mushroom. The pita bread came out fresh like a puffed pillow and the hummus was delicious. The Interior is cozy and intimate with high ceilings and a lot of wooden beams. Lots of drafts and craft beers. I had the Conehead on draft and it was delicious. The ambient temperature was a little warm with the open kitchen and wood-fired pizza oven, especially with July heat and humidity so wear your summer shorts and light clothing. Service was amazing and all of our servers were attentive and friendly. Food came out quickly and everything was excellent. Gastro Maestro approved!!!!

    Everyone by far at this establishment is extremely accommodating and seem truly happy to be there and interact with you. The care from when you walk in to when you leave is extraordinary. The chef prepares an out of this world menu around local seasonal food. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu. Enjoy some time at the bar first! The bar tenders are super friendly and can make you anything you ask for. Highly suggest requesting the chefs counter if you enjoy making food. These chefs are so kind and friendly and truly humble in their work. They'll even shared some secrets if you ask! My husband and I had such a fun time staying at the Inn and eating here twice. We might be from Texas but we can't wait to make a trip back to this place.

    We got here early for some drinks before they start seating at 5 but the bar was full so they could not accommodate us which was disappointing but we understood. I requested a table outside but they do not have heaters and it was deemed too cold to sit out so we got a table inside. The food and our drinks were very very good. We started with the pita and hummus which has the best duck confit I've had. I ordered the margherita pizza with added pepperonis and my husband ordered the oven roasted chicken which he loved. Our drinks were great but our empty glasses were taken away without asking if we would have liked another which we would have. We were staying at the Inn so we requested our chocolate mousse dessert to go and it was also delightful. The super friendly service you experience elsewhere in the area is really not felt here and it was not what I expected based on reviews. Beyond that the food was extremely good and maybe it was an off night.

It was the perfect setting for a memorable holiday dinner. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with friendly, attentive service from our server, Jamie. The ambiance was warm, inviting, and rich with history, making us feel like we had stepped back in time. We started with an Old Fashioned made with Smugglers' Notch bourbon for me and a refreshing Blueberry Refresher for my wife. The homemade cranberry fritters served with Vermont maple butter were an outstanding way to begin the meal. Next came bowls of the delicious Cheddar & Ale Onion Soup, followed by the Maple Butter & Walnut Encrusted Brie served with Vermont apples and toasted baguette--an excellent combination of sweet, savory, and crunchy flavors. Our entrees were preceded by fresh field greens salads with balsamic vinaigrette and blue cheese crumbles, along with warm, freshly baked bread. I thoroughly enjoyed the Traditional Pot Roast--tender brisket slow-cooked in the tavern's Circa 1790 Amber Ale with rich pan gravy. My wife chose the Scrod with pumpkin seeds, butter, Chardonnay, and lemon, which was perfectly prepared and beautifully balanced. To finish, we shared the Cranberry & Apple Crisp topped with local vanilla ice cream and whipped cream--a fittingly New England ending to an exceptional meal. The combination of outstanding food, welcoming hospitality, and the unique historic atmosphere made for a wonderful dining experience. We re-visited the restaurant recently for our 40th wedding anniversary, and I think it's only fitting to offer a view on what is best described as a bastion of excellence and gracious dining in Manchester village, Vermont. Situated in a refurbished former library building, the Silver Fork's setting, decor, and dining experience is indeed textbook flawless. Inside the upscale eatery evokes mid-century Moderne, a setting for the once popular Madmen TV period drama series; tony, chic, but hardly ostentatious and overbearing. On the contrary the high ceilings, lighting and space combine to offer that frozen glimpse of earlier elegance but alongside very contemporary culinary offerings. Table spacing accentuates a good use of space. We started with a "Rubies are Forever" Pomegranate cocktail with Pomegranate boba. The menu is large but not overbearing; a good mix of meats, legumes and fish. Equally the starters are enticing. French Onion soup is amazing but on this occasion we both chose the Duck egg roll with a special peanut sauce. Simply extraordinary and with generous duck portions. For an entree, my wife chose Mahi Mahi Fish, beautifully prepared over plantain. Despite being tempted by a brisket with horseradish sauce, the evening special, I chose the Ratatouille. Why? Prepared properly, this is often hard to find. The Chef's presentation of the southern French staple, was beautifully interpreted, accompanied with some goat cheese. We accompanied our meal with a glasses of red wine. For desert we shared the incomparable Caribbean Bread Pudding which is always a hit here. Allow to me to say our server Lynn showed a genuine experience both in the menu and wine list along with a pleasant disposition. We equally had the opportunity to chat with Melody the co-owner who, along with her husband Chef Mark, described their culinary Odyssey before coming to Vermont years ago to establish Silver Fork. Tables are spaced far enough apart that you feel that you are having a private dining experience. The art work is beautiful and arranged tastefully. The wait staff are courteous and respectful. You can tell that this is an upscale restaurant as soon as as you are seated. The food is the best I have ever had. I have dined in many Michelin starred restaurants but the food at The Silver Fork is beyond reproach. I must say that the cocktails are on the same level as the food served. We then got up and tried to flag down our waiter to for the check and takeout box and after a long time she gave them but disappeared again for a long time so we tried to flag her down, again, so we could actually pay. When we did, she rudely said "do you see the things im carrying? can you wait?" Mind you, we have been waiting for nearly another 20 minutes after we finished eating for any appearance from the waiter. We tried asking the other waiter who was actually present if we could but said we needed to get our actual server. We finally finished the whole transaction (20min waiting for food, 20min spent flagging down the waiter for the check/giving the money), and frustrated we wasted so much time here while on a trip for just OK food, we just left because the server then disappeared AGAIN after settling our bill. Hilariously enough, the only time she seemed to care about us was when we left and she went RUNNING after us to ask us "you did not tip enough, did I do something wrong?" in a rude and fake overly concerned way. After we briefly explained, she proceeds to loudly shame us saying "you supposed to tip me xyz because I provide you a service and if not you're really disrespectful". The audacity. Service was beyond horrible!!! and still demanding higher tips calling customers disrespectful when we did nothing but wait and get yelled at by her for not waiting even longer and still needing to directly pay her extra tips. During that scolding we got, we saw her name tag: Avery. Overall: Foods ok. LONG WAIT for food and check. Horrifying service by one server: Avery. Perhaps other servers were better like the one who took care of the table who sat down at the same time and left 20 minutes earlier meanwhile our service was way slower, not as friendly, demanding tips, and public scolds/shames customers for it.
