    Spinach and steak salad.
    Mieko O.

We stopped by after a day of skiing for an early dinner. Staff was attentive and promptly brought our drinks, fresh bread, and our food. There are many options on the menu and I was impressed with the kids menu cause it offered more options that most restaurants have for kids. My daughter chose the grilled chicken with rice. A scoop of ice cream was part of the meal and she enjoyed the chocolate ice cream. I enjoyed my Vermont Mule cocktail with my spinach and flank steak salad. The chimicurri salad dressing with the baby spinach, blue cheese, onion and tomato were perfectly combined. This is a great spot between all the ski resorts and our hotel at COHO Inn. Comfortable place to dine, at tables or by the bar. Plus they have entertainment

The food was good , however they did not have an appetizer menu for our party of late lunchers... they did have an app menu for the dinner crowd which starts at 4 pm. Food was ok. My Caesar salad came with things that didn't belong on a Caesar , tomato, and red onion. We ended up order a chicken quesadilla as an appetizer from the lunch menu. Thought it was expensive for what it was . My husband had half a Monte Cristo , ham, Swiss turkey, egg batter, Texas toast with a side of Vermont maple syrup for dipping. That was really good. Buffalo chicken sandwich my nephew order was good. Great place for late lunch or early dinner .

Food quality / price (value) rating 9. Thr atmosphere is contemporary. The menu is a number of well chosen offerings where there's something for everyone. I had a well made Cosmo, and the wife jad a glass of Pinot Grigio that was a very generous pour. We split the Black & Blue Burger which was very good quality beef, camd ooked as requested. The French fries were house cit and cooked extra well done as requested. Our server, Casey, was very attentive and made our visit quite enjoyable. The restrooms were clean and fresh. They also have a limited but well chosen draught beer menu of six different brews. I'd definitely come here again.

Friendly. Eclectic. Delicious. If you're staying near Magic or Bromley The New American's your do-it-all and do-it-well dining destination. Staff is friendly, menu is eclectic, and live music on most weekends makes for a great ambiance while sampling the New American's large selection of delicious food. Pro Tip: busy weekends often have lines out the door given limited seating. You may be asked to take a beeper. That beeper may not actually work thanks to VT's penchant for minimally viable cellular reception. Alternatively, try take call ahead or plan your visit in warmer summer months when newer outdoor seating significantly expands the Grill's limited interior options. Truly never had a bad meal here. Don't miss the cashew-ginger stir-fry for a light and spicy dinner, Max's Mac-n-Cheese for a sumptuous gut-buster that stays with you for months, or any one of the burgers or pasta options for classic dinner staples with larger than life portions more a multi-day dinner date.

    Sesame crusted ahi tuna

Not so new anymore, but still pretty American. Great place for a family meal or just a casual night out with great food and drinks. We had the green curry mussels, beef chili, and baked feta to start. I had the seared sesame ahi tuna The others in my group had a Turkey burger and a regular Burger. The mussels were OFF THE HOOK! They were big, plump, clean mussels in a green curry sauce that had a bit of kick and great flavor. It was also a very generous helping. They really should bring you extra bread with this to soak up the sauce after you are done with the mussels. The beef chili was solid and comes with shredded cheese on top. The baked feta was a hit and has a good coating of olive oil and Kalamata olives on top. The ahi tuna had a very solid sesame crust and was slightly overcooked. The tuna should have been rare in the inside and was more like "medium." Still, it was very tasty. There was a wasabi Mayo on top which was also nice and not overwhelming or over-applied. The others I was with were extremely happy with their burgers, especially the turkey burger, remarking "this is one of the best turkey burgers I've ever had." The brioche buns were quite hefty. All in all, this place has really great food and lots of choices. Service was timely and friendly. Remember to tip well.

Located in a strip mall in Londonderry is this incredible restaurant. With a bar and small dining area I'm sure this can be a busy place on the weekend. We visited over Columbus Day weekend and were fortunate to get a table in the bar area. We started out with drinks, my husband with a local beer and myself with a Londonderry Mule. Both were refreshing. I had a cup of clam chowder, which was one of the best I've had. I've tried many clam chowders. For dinner our daughter had a burger, which she loved. My husband had a pan seared ahi tuna steak that he could not stop raving about and I had a chicken burrito which had fresh ingredients. Our waiter was prompt, friendly and personable. This is on the top of our favorite restaurants in Vermont.

Sausage and pierogis in a delicious mustard cream sauce!

Recently my family was in Vermont for a fall weekend getaway. We were looking for a restaurant that had something for foodies, healthy eaters, and picky child eaters. After checking Yelp, I realized that The New American Grill fit the bill nicely. We walked in to a nicely updated restaurant with a party of 6 on a Friday night. They told us that the wait would be about a half hour and mentioned that they had live music in a waiting area. The woman playing was excellent, talented musically and very personable. Really made the wait pass by quickly. We were seated at a comfortable table and greeted by a friendly and professional waitress. I had the mushroom soup for an appetizer, it was made in house and was very good. I moved on to a sausage and pierogis in mustard cream sauce entree. It was decadently delicious. The sauce was great on everything, I finished my wife's mashed potatoes and my mother-in-law's steak in the mustard cream sauce. My daughters enjoyed their young adult choices and my wife and in laws were also happy with their choices. I was also impressed with their price points, for the quality of the food, they kept their prices reasonable. All in all, a nice place to spend a Friday night.

    Chicken Parmesan is excellent!

We followed it to the 18th century farmhouse in Londonderry, VT. When we got there, it was not open so I took out my phone and made a reservation on the spot for dinner in two days. Since this was the week before our anniversary, we decided to treat ourselves to this experience. The menu left us guessing at first. There was no delineation of appetizers and entrees. When it was explained to us that items at the top of the menu were considered appetizers because of the portion size, it was a little clearer. But we were still left guessing what was the portion size of these items. We thought we would start with the sourdough rye. It came piping warm with smoked butter. The smoked butter had a bolder taste than your typical sweet cream butter. He wanted the House Made Orecchiette which was a duck sausage but our server said it had a bit of spice but would be manageable. Thankfully, she asked the chef and reported back that it really was spicy so he changed his order to match mine which was the Seared Labelle Farm Duck Breast. Labelle Farm is where they sourced the duck. I love that they know where their food comes from! We both enjoyed the duck immensely. It came with Solo's very own farm fresh vegetables. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake with blueberry compote. Someone brought it with a candle and said, "happy birthday or anniversary." Nice that they put a candle on the cheesecake but I did say it was our anniversary on the reservation. I guess that kinda ruined it for me that she didn't bother to look what special event we were celebrating. The meal was lovely. The farmhouse setting was quaint. You hear all the footsteps of the hardwood floors whenever someone walked. My only critique was that it was VERY warm inside. There was one window that was slightly cracked open but no breeze was felt. It was so warm that we had to ask for ice in our water. I think our meal would have been more enjoyable if we weren't sweating our way through dinner. I guess 18th century farmhouses didn't have air conditioning.

Vince, the owner, genuinely cares about every guest's experience. His pride in the lodge is evident, and I especially appreciated his honesty--he'll be the first to tell you this isn't a luxury four-star hotel. Instead, it's something even more memorable: a comfortable, safe, welcoming lodge full of character. It's like your favorite well-worn pair of slippers or a cozy blanket--relaxed, familiar, and exactly where you want to unwind after a busy day. Dennis runs the bar like Cheers--before long, everyone knows your name. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and it's easy to strike up conversations with both locals and fellow travelers. The rooms are basic but clean, the beds are comfortable, the water pressure is fantastic, and fresh towels are provided every day (thank you Terri!). Upper Pass is a very nice ski lodge with a nice Vermont feel. The room was spacious and clean and in addition to the main bedroom there was a smaller bedroom with bunk beds and a sink. The decor was nice without being overbearing. Plenty of room, good TV, a desk and couple of comfortable beds. The bathroom was fine with a good shower. There was a small coffee maker in the room and they also stocked the room with some breakfast bars. The rooms do not have a refrigerator or microwave. In the lobby of the lodge is the Red Slate restaurant and bar which are not open on Monday or Tuesday. There is also a nice living room with a fireplace, couches and lots of games. Upper Pass Lodge is an excellent option if you are looking to stay in the Londonderry area. The lodge is welcoming and friendly, it has a great feel as an independent hotel, plus on the times I have stayed it has offered outstanding value for lodging on a Vermont ski trip. Okemo is about 1/2 hour away and Mount Snow is a bit further. The Upper Pass Lodge does hospitality right.

On the negative: The service was haphazard on a busy Saturday night. Go on a weeknight when it is less crowded. They didn't fill out water glasses and seemed to disappear for stretches of time. Also, the "frites" on the steak au frites dish were cold and a plain pasta was a little al dente. Also, the place lacks air conditioning which is 95% fine in Vermont, except on that really warm day. Which was the day we were there. The vino arrived very quickly & I was ready to order. ordered New England Clam Chowdha & Chicken Pot Stickers. My chowder arrived at 7:57 according to the photo. Chowdha - ok, more potatoes then clams, flavor was ok and then I waited for the pot stickers...& waited...& waited......at some point another bartender approached and asked if I need a refill on the vino. I said no, but were are my pot stickers? I've been waiting for 45 minutes, are they driving to Chinatown, I said...sorry I'll go and check as she sailed into the kitchen sunset never to return. The original bartender came back asking about a refill, I just shrugged my shoulders and mouthed out POTSTICKERS?...OH, I'll go and check...well at least she returned and refilled my vino. Shortly after, my 6 potstickers arrived in a basket. I try my first one...ok it's deep fried not pan fried but ok, kind or lukewarm on the inside. The dipping sauce was tasty. Ok tried another one, this one is kind of cool on the inside. Took the third one and cracked it open, it's cold & pink on the inside. THIS IS CHICKEN! pink? Called over the bartender and said it's pink on the inside - her response (precious)...they're frozen and pre cooked, NO! I said, they are cold inside & raw...ok she whisked it away...few minutes later another waitress come back with my original basket (re-fried with the split dumpling) & kind of snottily shoves it it front of me and said - sorry it wasn't hot enough for you.
