He didn't tell us the specials but that was fine cause we came back next day for them. Was visiting from for just 2 nights and went here. Not a lot of options in this area. It has a Grateful Dead theme going on so of course I loved it. Special was seafood bisque, which was made with shrimp and lobster. Taste was phenomenal though only tasted chunks of shrimp which was fine. I would get it again and my friend took home a bowl for next day. Highly recommend. I heard their soups are often great. We opted to split the half rack of ribs, they were quite good. Little fat, good taste, I recommend this and would get again if I was again in the mood. Tea was served in a carafe I'd not seen since the 70's which I liked. Day before we got BLT to split and that was great. Fries are skinny, hot and not greasy. Good vibes all around. read more

While staying in Londonderry we were looking for a place to grab dinner after a day of skiing. About the only place open in Londonderry was The New American Grill so we headed over to grab some dinner. NAG is located in the shopping plaza at Routes 11 and 100. The decor is nice, simple and comfortable. The menu is diverse with various ethnic dishes along with the kind of dishes you would expect from an American Grill. My friend ordered the Seoul Food and I ordered a Scallop special. When the food came out both dishes were very nice, however after my first taste of the scallop special I realized that the dish was topped with bacon, which had not been mentioned in the description by the server. The server was very nice about the issue and offered to have the dish remade without the bacon, but I opted instead to get the Pesto Shrimp Alfredo pasta; the kitchen managed to get the new dish out promptly. While the shrimp in the dish were good, I found the sauce to be a bit one note and overly heavy; it really seemed to lack the herbal taste I expected from a pesto dish. While not a bad dish I would not order this again. My friend did enjoy the bulgogi flavored chicken. It seemed most of the guests were enjoying their meal, unfortunately I just seemed to have some bad luck with my meal selections. We stopped by after a day of skiing for an early dinner. Staff was attentive and promptly brought our drinks, fresh bread, and our food. There are many options on the menu and I was impressed with the kids menu cause it offered more options that most restaurants have for kids. My daughter chose the grilled chicken with rice. The food was good , however they did not have an appetizer menu for our party of late lunchers... they did have an app menu for the dinner crowd which starts at 4 pm. Food was ok. My Caesar salad came with things that didn't belong on a Caesar , tomato, and red onion. We ended up order a chicken quesadilla as an appetizer from the lunch menu. We went there early in the afternoon after not being able to ski at Okemo due to high winds. There were only a few people in the establishment at the time. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive and friendly. The interior was cozy and styled in a typical ski mountain vibe. The menu had a little bit f everything. I ordered a meat lovers calzone. It was pretty good, not huge, but tasty and filling enough. They had a decent beer selection, including a NA beer from Cone Head brewing that was really good. The menu looked fantastic, the prices were reasonable in todays market and the food was very good. Now we just got greek salads but they were generous and super fresh and full of good stuff. Returning from a trip to Maine hunting fresh seafood, we were about 50 minutes from home when I decided we needed to stop for dinner. There are very few choices available on the way home but we knew of the New American Grill from a friend. I figured it would be a mediocre burger place prodding a quick meal. The vast parking lot was surprisingly crowded for a Tuesday evening. The place obviously does a good bar business. Upon entering the restaurant, we were warmly greeted and shown to a table. Upon picking up the menu, I discovered that we had stumbled into a gem of a restaurant! Beside the abundance of on tap beers and libations, there was a selection of meals, very nicely priced that would make anyone proud. My daughter ordered an Ahi Tuna salad which she raved about. My wife ordered a regular salad she could not finish. I had fish and chips with enough French fries for everyone to share and what appeared to be a large, gently breaded piece of fresh, not frozen ,fish. Prior to bringing our entrees the waitress brought over a hot basket of freshly baked rolls and butter. Crisp outside, soft and hot inside. Excellent! Having enjoyed an eating tour of Maine at some wonderful dining locales, I have to admit that this close to home venue is a true diamond in the rough and a place where I would gladly drive the almost hour to enjoy another meal. read more

I had a well made Cosmo, and the wife jad a glass of Pinot Grigio that was a very generous pour. We split the Black & Blue Burger which was very good quality beef, camd ooked as requested. The French fries were house cit and cooked extra well done as requested. Our server, Casey, was very attentive and made our visit quite enjoyable. The restrooms were clean and fresh. Not so new anymore, but still pretty American. Great place for a family meal or just a casual night out with great food and drinks. We had the green curry mussels, beef chili, and baked feta to start. I had the seared sesame ahi tuna The others in my group had a Turkey burger and a regular Burger. The mussels were OFF THE HOOK! They were big, plump, clean mussels in a green curry sauce that had a bit of kick and great flavor. It was also a very generous helping. They really should bring you extra bread with this to soak up the sauce after you are done with the mussels. The beef chili was solid and comes with shredded cheese on top. The baked feta was a hit and has a good coating of olive oil and Kalamata olives on top. The ahi tuna had a very solid sesame crust and was slightly overcooked. The tuna should have been rare in the inside and was more like "medium." Still, it was very tasty. There was a wasabi Mayo on top which was also nice and not overwhelming or over-applied. The others I was with were extremely happy with their burgers, especially the turkey burger, remarking "this is one of the best turkey burgers I've ever had." The brioche buns were quite hefty. All in all, this place has really great food and lots of choices. Service was timely and friendly. Remember to tip well. read more

Located in a strip mall in Londonderry is this incredible restaurant. With a bar and small dining area I'm sure this can be a busy place on the weekend. We visited over Columbus Day weekend and were fortunate to get a table in the bar area. We started out with drinks, my husband with a local beer and myself with a Londonderry Mule. Both were refreshing. I had a cup of clam chowder, which was one of the best I've had. I've tried many clam chowders. For dinner our daughter had a burger, which she loved. My husband had a pan seared ahi tuna steak that he could not stop raving about and I had a chicken burrito which had fresh ingredients. Our waiter was prompt, friendly and personable. Recently my family was in Vermont for a fall weekend getaway. We were looking for a restaurant that had something for foodies, healthy eaters, and picky child eaters. After checking Yelp, I realized that The New American Grill fit the bill nicely. We walked in to a nicely updated restaurant with a party of 6 on a Friday night. They told us that the wait would be about a half hour and mentioned that they had live music in a waiting area. The woman playing was excellent, talented musically and very personable. Really made the wait pass by quickly. We were seated at a comfortable table and greeted by a friendly and professional waitress. I had the mushroom soup for an appetizer, it was made in house and was very good. I moved on to a sausage and pierogis in mustard cream sauce entree. It was decadently delicious. The sauce was great on everything, I finished my wife's mashed potatoes and my mother-in-law's steak in the mustard cream sauce. My daughters enjoyed their young adult choices and my wife and in laws were also happy with their choices. I was also impressed with their price points, for the quality of the food, they kept their prices reasonable. All in all, a nice place to spend a Friday night. read more

We decided to go to this eatery as friends were visiting from out of town. Wait staff were kind and friendly. One of our party does not consume alcohol because of heart issues. At the bar, he ordered a tonic and lime and explained to the bar tender that he would only be drinking non-alcoholic drinks as was offered a mocktail menu. We were seated by Gretchen and proceeded to order. Again, the person in the party who cannot drink alcohol asked for a mocktail, which was promptly brought to the table. Apparently it was quite good as he ordered another one. When the second presumed non-alcoholic beverage was brought to the table, he took a large sip and found out it was pure alcohol. Now, this person has a history of a-fib that is brought on by alcohol. Waitress was asked to come back an explain why alcohol was served to someone with a heart condition. No explanation was given except that the bartender made a grievous error. Food was average, service was very good but because of this potentially fatal error, we will not be going back. So sad that a place we thought as safe turned out to be anything but. By the way, the person who was served the alcohol was sick for 3 days. read more

We were visiting friends in the area during the off season and went here on a recommendation from a local. I can tell you we were blown away by the food and the service. Our server Sara was friendly and attentive. My daughter had a question about an item in the menu and the chef/owner came out to discuss the dish with her and offered to adjust the preparation to make sure she was happy (which she was). The mussels fra diavolo were amazingly flavorful without being overly salty, the short rib bourguignon was delightful and a very generous portion of short ribs, and the Jamaican jerk grouper was excellent. A decent amount of options for vegetarians/pescatarians. The Mac & Cheese is HEAVENLY (ask for the Woodstock Scotch Bonnet hot sauce to mix in!). This area is a ski town so a lot of restaurants in this area get super busy quickly. More impressive are the hours they keep. Opens at 11am and closes at 9pm. That's great for us but not typical in ski resort areas. We were lucky to find this place on Yelp. Thanks Yelp. The restaurant is casual dining and like a cafe all at once. One side is a bar counter and smaller seating of tables. The other side is the main dining room. Huge banquettes and an array of tables for all group sizes. While the space looked cozy enough, they managed to add extra chairs to accommodate larger groups if necessary. The menu is classic American bar / grill food and then it has a variety of regional fare. You can choose from the soup of the day (today was lentil chorizo), mussels or pot stickers for appetizers. Then dinner fare goes from burgers to lobster ravioli and other classic fare like steak. My clan selected an appetizer to share, toasted bread with melted gorgonzola, drizzled with balsamic vinegar and diced tomatoes. It was delicious. This gorgonzola was not over powering and a subtle blue, makes for a super smooth finish. For dinner, the kids Mac and Cheese was served in a round bowl. It was a very mild flavor, could've used more butter and a sharper Cheese. Not impressed as per my picky one. But we were surprised by the kids pizza! It had a blend of cheeses ...looked like cheddar, mozzarella, and some white cheese (gruyere maybe). I didn't try but it looked yummy and my kid dogged it. We also enjoyed our entrees a lot. My hubby ordered the crispy Duck, and boy it was crisp, had gorgeous color both inside and out. The meat was tender and it rested on top of fingerling potatoes, button mushrooms, and argula. There were bits of smoked ham as well. My favorite was the fish and chips. The fried batter was crisp and not oily. The haddock was meaty and tasted so fresh. I've never it had this yummy, very impressed. It was served over a plate of French fries and a red cabbage slaw (contained sliced carrots). Excellent slaw. It came with tarter sauce but I barely used it. It had relish in it but not too tart. I'm not a big tarter sauce user so I ate my fish without it. It was fine either way. The dinner service was super busy. We had to wait 15-20 mins to be seated but they take names and clean up quick so down time was minimal. I was very pleased with this dining experience. Notable mention: the food coming out of the kitchen looked excellent, paella, quesedilla's, ribs, and mussels. This place must be a neighborhood gem. read more

While on a maple syrup run to The Rafters we decided to stop on the way back south. Meal was very good. I had Philly Cheesesteak and wife had Chicken Parm sandwich. Chicken was made from a real chicken breast. Cheesesteak was a generous if not perfect size along with some of the best fries I've had in a long time.
