My husband and I just got married at the Arlington Inn! We selected one of the elopement packages they offer on their website and we are so glad we did. The inn took care of absolutely everything and made our wedding an absolute stress free breeze. Not only was everything extremely well executed, but the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful which meant a lot since we didn't have any friends or family for our wedding day. It felt like the staff had adopted us while we were there and I mean that in the best way possible. Of course the inn itself was beautiful and we had a cozy room with a fireplace and there are so many great hikes and shops near the Inn if you are looking for things to do. Great place to stay and even better place to get married!!

    Newly reopened bar/pub.

This change in ownership really suits the place well!! The Arlington Inn went from an old, dusty, unwelcoming Inn, to a clean, homey, and friendly place to call home for a few days. The new owners are pleasant and informative. The rooms are quaint, warm and inviting. Breakfasts are to die for and open to all of the locals bringing in stories from past and present. Thank you Buzz and Tabetha for breathing life back into this fine old estate.

The Arlington Inn is a sweet little Inn and Restaurant near Brattleboro, VT. It has a main house, two smaller guest houses, a small dining room, a classy parlor, and a large rustic garden/gazebo out back. I photographed a wedding here in August - it was a very intimate wedding in the garden's gazebo attended by two guests, a chicken, and a cat. It would be a great place for a smaller wedding (I'd say less than 50 guests) in the summertime or an intimate wedding or elopement in the colder season.

My recent stay at the Inn fit everything that I look for at a Bed &Breakfast Inn. The building shows the character of a building from the 1770's so know that the floors are uneven and stair treads are narrower than today's standards. I like that about the place. The Innkeepers are experienced, knowledgeable and as helpful as you want them to be. Michael made us feel welcome and his help and suggestions greatly enhanced our stay. The decor is country inn quirky and comfortable. This is a place to put your feet up, read or do a puzzle in the great room, sit in the meadow and watch the river run by, or if it's pouring rain, lay in bed and listen to the rain. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast each morning, complete with homemade muffins and granola. I appreciated that Michael was more than willing to adapt what he served to accommodate our food preferences and needs. I'm looking forward to my next visit to the Ira Allen House.

We got the sourdough pita, crispy chickpeas, scallop crudo, cabbage with nduja, short rib with baba, grilled squash, mushroom risotto, and finished with the tahini ice cream and strawberry/rhubard granita. The pita is an absolute must, and if I have any regret it's not ALSO getting a pizza, because those looked incredible. I think the absolute best bites of the meal, though, were the short rib and risotto, along with the tahini ice cream, which blew me away (and I didn't even expect to like it that much). I can't imagine that there's a better restaurant within 50 miles.

just reading a review of a year ago with people complaining about mosquitoes and hornets and bugs…read more I am writing this with the same complaint about mosquitoes and bugs sitting out on the porch in the restaurant when the sun starts to go down. There's really no excuse for this. Thermo CELL makes an incredibly cheap little gadget which we bring now when we're coming there that you just turn it on and sit it on the floor and it absolutely deters anything like that. I think Management should have taken that review a year ago seriously. The food was very very good the atmosphere is delightful the white staff was very nice. The other concern is that we were seated outside which we wanted and about a half an hour later a family with four children under the ages of six years old were seated right next to us almost shoulder to shoulder where the planter is and they all began screaming and running around and this was for the entire dinner. That should not be anything that should happen. If you have a situation like that where screaming children are around they should be seated at a table around the corner on the deck off by themselves. Only problem is you only have three tables outside on the deck and you could easily fit six but there should be an accommodation for some type of situation like that. When you spend about $200 for a dinner and you're completely inundated with bugs and screaming children both of which are not necessary, you are left with a bad taste in your mouth. Hopefully management will decide to address these issues as they should.

Breathtaking mountain views…read more My family rented two vacation houses at the Wilburton for our large extended family of 25 -- I knew very little about the property before we arrived, so we were taken aback by the sprawling turn-of-the-century mansion and spectacular mountain views as we drove up the driveway. We absolutely never expected the art installations across the grounds -- including 18 x 26-foot Egyptian statues! The art and decor were eclectic and unexpected, and I found them very intriguing. It's definitely not your traditional resort, but that's what we liked about it. And the statues made for an amazing night with smores by the fire pit! The Reunion House was spacious -- we particularly enjoyed the living room, as it gave us enough room to comfortably host the other half of our family (about 25 of us) for a casual birthday party. There was plenty of seating with cozy leather sectionals and two large dining tables that seated about 8-10 people each. My daughter loved playing the piano in the living room, and the rooms downstairs with the daybeds were a great place for the kids to hang out and watch TV together. (The galley kitchen is a little small, but we were aware of this ahead of time because it was mentioned on their website.) We were there during a massive heat wave and all the air conditioners worked very well and kept us cool. Our kids loved the volley ball/badminton area steps away from our house. The outdoor pool is beautiful and it was so wonderful to be able to gather there easily with our whole family. The innkeepers were friendly and helpful. And we enjoyed looking around the mansion as well. There was so much do to in nearby Manchester -- great restaurants and shops, the bookstore is fantastic. We also enjoyed the ropes course and alpine slide at Bromley Mountain. We can't wait to return next year -- we'll be staying at one of the other properties even closer to my extended family's rental house and I'm so excited for its private balconies, jacuzzi tubs, and even more beautiful mountain views!

There's a free continental breakfast every morning and a sign up sheet for the next morning's hot breakfast (paid). As nervous as I was, the bed was comfortable and the room clean but still homey. The heating system worked perfectly, and we were totally comfortable even though one night was the first frost of the season! Everything about this place was charming and cozy. The only - ONLY - drawback I noticed (which wasn't even relevant to me since I'm still injured) was that it's not in a running-friendly location (no sidewalks just not highway but not regular road) and you'd have to drive a little to find a place to go.
