I just purchased a 10lb. box of King Crab legs from Farmingdale Restaurant Depot. I do this every year but no more. I opened the box and they were brown and freezer burnt. (Pictures on file) The box said wild caught. What in 2014. I went back to the store and they wanted to give me store credit. I told the gentleman i wanted it refunded to my credit card. Three people had to look at this package and not one apologized. They knew they were old and did not care. Pathetic and sad. I have noticed that their quality is really going downhill. Disgusting! Everything is amazing and the staff they are very helpful.the depot is a massive place and also very clean,an it is well organized. It didn't take me too much time to find the items that i was looking for.I was definitely amazed by the quality products from all over the world at this one location I'm still star struck by the price of their products to me that was the best. Check out my cart!. Make Greek falafel like a boss!! Falafel mix ready to make a few hand shaped balls, drop into hot olive oil in a small sauce pan, slice some onions and tomato and lettuce, add Restaurant Depot real Greek tziki sauce, grab some super good, hot sauce and super delicious soft and oversized pita bread all here... Just like the pro's I've been wowing my friends. Restaurant Depot with large warehouses a few places in and around Long Island is known by restaurants, as a go to place for large quality supplies. Half the warehouse supply store is regular temperature half is a cold refrigerated bunch of aisles. Bundle up( the whole section is a large fridge and your in it) if you want to check it out. What's in here? Everything cold. All kinds of cheese, produce, meat, fish, frozen onion rings, calamari, even buratta like you would get at a specialty cafe, right here in a plastic tub. Lol!! Everything is here. Fish, produce, packaging, deserts, soup, aisles and aisles of everything all types of restaurants would need. Large cans of all types of pizza sauce, huge boxes of empanadas, frozen falafel, large sized cream cheese for bagel places, mega bags of onions and smaller too. Cases of pineapples, jugs of mayo, mustard, salsa. Jars of peppers, olives... etc. packaging for all kinds of to go and wraps. Sabbrett mustard runs about $5 for a mega plastic jug. Cases of jarritos soda as seen in many Latin take outs. Ginger beer as seen in Jamaican places. If your office wants to buy for their break room they can apply and likely get let in. Try not to annoy the real big shoppers by asking too many questions if any, or going too slow in the aisles. The pros are working hard here and if not a restaurant like I am not and let in .. don't wear out your welcome. Bring coffee, supplies and desert back to your company, large cases of bottled water etc. These restaurant shoppers are working early, late and hard. Keep this in mind when reviewing your favorite restaurants... and also tired old mom and pop places. Also checked out the wine and spirits where wine is under $4 for generic brands. Can't buy without a liquor license but wouldn't want to. The rest of this place is big, industrious, gritty and fun. Cheers. read more

I have been purchasing products from Restaurant Depot at this location for a few years. The Depot is a member's only wholesale foodservice supplier. They provide everything imaginable for the food service business. Although they have basically every food service product that I have needed, I am particularly impressed of the many brands of Italian canned tomatoes they inventory. Their staff is friendly and seems to always be quite busy restocking product within the store. The only complaint I may have is when they are very busy, the cashier lines can be occasionally slow. read more

I'm not in the restaurant industry, so I might have a different experience than most, but I really like this place. It does have that big box store feel ala BJ's, but the BJ's from 20 years ago. You know reaaaal bog box warehouse style. For real, if you don't need it in bulk, don't come here. Everything from veggies, meats and frozen items, to forks, plates and condiments. It's all here. They have real deal heavy duty restaurant equipment too, in case you want to make your house a fully functioning commercial kitchen (can I get an invite?). It's slightly tough to shop using the 'carts' they give you, but all is forgotten once you pile up 30lbs of hot dogs and realize that you need a rolling warehouse to get everything home. This is a great place if you want to Buy in quantity Basically it is just what its name says Restaurant Depot because you have to have some kind of business to get one of their cards to get into the building But once inside they have everything that you would need for cooking I'm talking pots pans all kinds of paper plates and paper products Everything is wholesale prices so they're pretty cheap but you have to buy in quantity So if you can get one of their cards and you have live big freezer or giving a big party it's a good place to visit read more

Worst restaurant depot on the island. I asked 3 employees where something was and they all just pointed and said "ask a guy over there". Go to the one on ocean ave, the employees over there are nice and helpful. Or the one in queens, never had a bad experience there read more

We shop here when want items in large quantity. They have everything you can think of. They are like bjs and costco

The workers are so rude. I asked for a price check at the register and the cashier said you're not ready and called the customer from behind me to skip me. I asked her what are you doing and she said I gotta keep the line moving. I told her "oh no" and she called over her supervisor only to speak Spanish to her about me. I'm Puerto Rican and maybe my blue eyes and blonde hair confused her but I told her in Spanish that I understood everything she was saying. It is a damned shame that they have cornered the market on wholesale commercial restaurant equipment and food. First off, for a business that services restaurants, you would think they would have extended weekend hours and close earlier on weekdays, but no. They close at 4pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday. No chance for a last-minute run when you're 86'd on a product because the weekend was busier than projections. For a place that caters exclusively to professionals in the hospitality and food industry, the staff there has no sense of customer service. None. A cashier yelled at me to swipe my card multiple times, while the pinpad was not ready to accept a card swipe. An error popped up on her screen, and I had to show her that there was a problem. The supervisor told me that it was my fault that it crashed her pinpad because I was using Samsung Pay. For those of you that don't know, Samsung Pay, unlike ApplePay or AndroidPay, can be used literally anywhere a card is swiped. I asked him to try this again on another register, and he told me no. I dropped my purchases and walked out. I would rather spend extra money, order equipment and smallwares online, and wait for them to be delivered than deal with the unpleasant and unprofessional people at this store. Thank God for companies like PFG, SYSCO, and Sygma, so I don't have to go into this abysmal store every week for food and paper. read more
