Horrible service at the front end register. I've been here twice in the last week. Today I dealt with employee who obviously did not want to be there. I asked for an item to be rung up and paid for separately. She didn't do this and had to ask for a void, huffing a puffing while doing so. Her manager could care less when I approached him with this observation. He simply said "ok" and shrugged his shoulders. Big warehouse-type store for business customers only. Restaurant Depot is the same as their name, it is designed for the restaurant buyer shop for everything they needed for their restaurant. It is the same as most of the warehouse. They have very limited services available. You will have to know what you're looking for and where to find it by yourself! I guess this is how they can keep their cost down. The prices are not super good deals. It is about the same as Costco or Sam's Club. The only benefit is they have almost everything the restaurant buyers are looking for. One-stop shopping. Time is money! This is why they are so busy! The check out lines is very busy and pretty confusing. The parking lot is a little bit messy and many huge shopping carts all over the place! You have to watch out and be careful someone might moving an over-size shopping cart just right behind your car! read more

It's a big wholesale store for those who work in the restaurant industry. The prices are generally pretty fair, but you'd be wise to still compare with Costco/ Sam's club, cause sometimes the prices are better there. So far any interaction I've had with the staff has been good, and overall, I've gotta say I really like this store. read more

I love that the guys will stop what they're doing inside the refrigerator walk-through, knowing it's so cold in there. They will exactly get what you need in a hurry because it is very cold in that big walk-in freezer. Everyone in the freezer department is always very friendly and the new Indian guy. My cousin and I are small business owners who bake and we were looking forward to our visit at this place! We expected them to have at least some baking containers for cupcakes, cakes, etc. But unfortunately there was not much.. The place itself is huge, but it seems very unsanitary and dirty... The workers on the other hand, they did not seem to care about the customers! They would speed through the aisles with their lifts, so watch out for them. read more

Cashier was incredibly rude at check out. I wanted to buy some extra brushes and the little girl said to me.. and I quote "well if you want it you have to go get it yourself". Of course I don't mind picking up my own products but what is with the attitude? I asked her to ring up my food items separate from non food items. I even had them separated for her and she couldn't do that correctly. Never again. Your employees are garbage and your produce is worse. Rotten strawberries (where every container had mold in it) sold by the case. I will stick to my providers where at least I have good service and fresh food. read more

This place needs to get more organized. It's a hot mess. There are boxes and boxes of inventory all over that you can never find what you're looking for. They also have a weird way of organizing. They mix cleaning supplies with pasta etc and their employees lack knowledge of their appliances. Anyways, I like the spot, just wish they would organize themselves better to make it easier for buyers. read more

I'm a small business owner and I get some of my items here because it's cheaper and when I'm in the vicinity. My only complaint is the service at the register. I feel like they are in a bad mood and they don't want to be there. I get better treatment with the people who stock the shelves. There's a newer and better service at the Roseville store. She, Krystle, was too inconvenienced to answer my simple question, and get this.... rolled her eyes BEFORE she turned her back. I get it, being in a retail psoition isn't the funnest but servicing your customer's (who are alot of the time business OWNER'S) with even a fake smile goes a long way. Please coach your employee's, or possibly just Krystle, to not blatantly roll their eyes or disrespect customer's to their face. read more

I've been shopping here since January and I have never been so furious. This is in regards to what has happened to me the past couple of days. On Monday I called to ask them if they had 4 cup holders and the person who picked up asked if I could be put on hold. I gladly said yes. They hung up on me. I called back and no one answered. I waited 15 minutes and proceeded to call again. I asked her about the trays she said they had 13 in stock. Ok cool. I drive there and ask the lady at the counter if she could check if they had any left. She said yes 13 boxes, and asked how many boxes I would like so they can bring it to the register for me. I then went to wait in the line to check out, the line was mad long and because it was towards 3pm the line was almost to the back of the store. I waited for 30 minutes. I got to the front, the nice asian gentleman asked if I had stuff that was being brought up to the front. I said 4 cup carriers. He checked to see if they brought it out, and at this point I was getting mad because they had 30 minutes to bring it out. He comes back and tells me they had no cup holders for me. I was livid. I usually don't make a trip for single item but they had been out for 2 weeks and we needed it urgently. The gentleman apologized to me, which I greatly appreciated but it wasn't his fault at all. The lady checked in her system and told me that they were receiving a shipment of those boxes for Tuesday. I'm like great now I have to come back for these cupholders. So Tuesday comes and I call at around 10am to check if they received the shipment. The lady said they haven't received it. I'm like ok I'll call later today. We end up calling and asking if they had any other types of 4 cup holders, they said yes, 52 units of them but these are the ones with the handles. I get there, walked in the door and scanned my card. The lady looks at me, makes eye contact, and then continues to do her paperwork. Obviously if I'm standing at the counter that means I have a question for you! The same asian gentleman from Monday sees me, and as I'm asking her she said " it looks like we had 13 units this morning but it was sold" i'm like huh yesterday they told me that they couldn't find it. I then asked her if they had the carrier with the handle. Funny thing: SHE TOLD ME TO CALL BEFORE I GET THERE SO I DON'T WASTE MY TIME. So I'm like ok whatever I'll go check on the shelf since she doesn't seem helpful. I get to the aisle and there was 1 box on the shelf. I'm like this doesn't add up because the manager said there was 52 units. So I turn around and the boxes were sitting in a pallet still. I grab 3 boxes and head to check out. I paid and asked to speak to a manager and explained my situation so they could prevent it from happening again. He told me that the counter person probably didn't know how to look it up because it's under a different category. He never apologized for the mix up that caused me to waste my time. I understand that things happen, but the moment they couldn't locate the 13 boxes of cup holders they should have flagged it in the system or taken it down. They should also categorize their items to fit other categories, like if you search tray in the system " carrier" items should pop up too. They need to work on their customer service. I would like to note that a lot of the employees that are loading inventory on the shelves are very friendly and helpful. I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, maybe they were having a bad day or maybe they never ran into a situation like that before, but management should always apologize especially when it is your employee/ system's fault. read more

It's really annoying they basically have a monopoly business here or else I would never come here again. I come here 2 times a week if not more spending anywhere from $500-1700 each visit. But that doesn't matter no one here cares. They get their business regardless and do not value customers. Produce is hit or miss, usually miss. They don't have CAB or prime beef. Even their choice beef is lower quality than you'd get elsewhere. The chicken is always good quality just never consistently have the same products in stock. There have been times when i have gotten fish here that was previously frozen sold as fresh and was spoiled. They never have anyone to load and if they do most if them give you attitude. Today 5/16/2018 I came in and spent over $1100. I asked my checker if she could get someone to load my car. She said there is one guy is out there. I went outside and asked him to load my car. He was bring carts up to the front from the parking lot. He seemed bothered and ignored me and continued getting shopping carts from the parking lot to the front. I asked him again and he yelled at me "I heard you the first time". Meanwhile the cart is so heavy I can barley push it. Did I ever get my car loaded? No. Well I did get my car loaded but i had to do it myself. So I spend $1100 at this store and I'll be back to spend even more money and be disrespected by certain employees because I can't afford to tip them every time I get my car loaded but i don't tip the cashier or the forklift people so why should I tip the person who is employed to load? I didn't know they get to pick and choose who they help and who they don't? It's not my fault it's hot or cold outside and the stuff I need loaded is heavy. I could go on and on about lost more aspects of this warehouse but I'll hold my breath. Just very disappointed on how I am treated when I ask for help to load hundreds and hundreds of pounds into my vehicle when I am not physically capable of doing so by myself. And this isn't the first time this its just the most rude I have ever been treated as a customer here. read more

This place can be a great find, but you need to find the treasures. It is very convenient for a restaurant chef/owner to shop here with a one stop shopping in mind. They have most things you will need to run an eatery. Vegetables, meats, dairy, cheese, deli, can goods, cleaning supplies, serving items, the list is very long - but most of it is in bulk - a box of this - a box of that. There are plenty of items outside the case price and they can be bargains. A business license is required to open up an account, you will need to get buzzed in at the entrance and a membership card at the cashier. read more

So after my other review was taken down I have decided to write this review again fortunately for restaurant depot I won't be as harsh on the employees since maybe my previous review had shed some light to the district manager in trying to better their customer experience. Since many industry people shop here and spend endless thousands of dollars the least a business can do is make us feel good about spending our money! Since a month has passed I have raised the start rating from 1 to 2 stars since I have been greeted at the front door by a young Caucasian guy who normally I believe works in the produce section but may have been covering for the normal gal that works the entrance KUDOS to him. I have also seen another older Caucasian guy working the front end with a smile on his face always KUDOS to him as well. Then there is an young Asian guy working in the seafood area eager to assist if you have any questions KUDOS TO HIM, lastly there are 2 young ladies that work the cash register check out line and one is tall with strawberry colored hair who is very friendly and always says thank you then there is a shorter dirty blond haired young lady who is by far the best cashier there hands down, if you're having a rough day she is sure to cheer you up KUDOS TO THEM! I will report back on all new experiences but I may be judging them harder because of the previous experiences I've had so 2 for now but may change later, hope this was helpful yelpers!!! This store has mostly everything you need for your restaurant the problem is the items never scan so you always have to wait for sku check. I always get the same items and it never fails. Besides the pallets that are just in the isle and workers using forklifts and electric pallet Jack's maneuvering around the customers which is a accident waiting to happen big time I would say go check it out. I am a client of that place but whenever I go I find something unpleasant to see or that happens to me in weighing it the entrance does not even answer the greeting only to those who want they have an angry face so that one does not ask or say anything. In the corridors you have to be aware that those who are accommodating think that with the sound of the horn you must take off because they are going to pass you have to remember the corridors because you ask and they don't know anything and they continue walking the cashiers. to have another hard work in another place with that attitude that a thousand gestures have on their faces to make the place look badly called facesdepot. read more

Really awesome place. I used to purchase from regular stores before I got a business license and boy this is way different than normal consumer grocery stores. It is super cheap. Parking could be upgraded and the place where it's located is kinda hard to get out of when it is during busy hours but that's just very minor. Bring a jacket because if you come here unprepared you will become a part of the meat section and probably be put on sale real quick. The cold section has every kind of meat that is normal including steaks, hot dogs, chicken breasts, beef patties, lamb, salmon, tilapia. Then they got boxed items like chicken nuggets, gyro meat. Anything you need for a restaurant and personal use is here! Be careful though, some boxes have meat juice on them so make sure to wash your hands after! read more

I came in here with a friend a few times over the last month and was really impressed with some of the prices. If you get the stuff when they first get it and its fresh its great at least as far and the fruits and veggies go. Avocados and mangos were so cheap when i went it the first time and I bought a bag of avocados and a box of mangos, when I ran out and went back the ones they had were all too ripe and not as great looking anymore, probably because they were the same batch. So the key is to get the stuff right when they get it. Prices are good and if you don't mind buying some things in bulk it is really good if you have someone to share with or have a restaurant or having a big party. I would certainly come back again when I was having my next big party. I was juicing at the time I came in and it saved me some money on some things but not knowing where the produce is coming from I only bought certain things, I never saw any organic produce so I only got things I could peel etc. They have everything and it certainly warrants going through and taking a look at everything when you have time, just so you know whats there and to find out what you can save some money on. You do need a business license or a friend with one or borrow their card to get in, but it can certainly be worth it. You really see how we are getting ripped off at the grocery stores on things. You don't have to buy in bulk there are a lot of things in smaller sizes and useful for a family too. I will certainly go back and check them out periodically so I can save some money. read more

This place is similar to Costco, but more for restaurant owners. Big warehouse, perfect place for restaurants to purchase whatever supply they need. Cases of to-go boxes, napkins, paper plates, plastic bags and other stuff like garbage cans, brooms, soap -- pretty much every kind of supply/ equipment you need for a restaurant/store. There's food like veggies, fruits, meat, seafood, sauces, drinks, and a lot more! If you enter the freezer section make sure to grab a orange coat, cause it's super cold in there! Prices here are reasonable, and if you buy in bulk it's a bit cheaper. I believe you can only come here if you have a restaurant membership or something since you have to scan your card when you walk in - I usually come here with someone that has a membership card :) Parking here is big, but the spaces are tight, so be careful! Checking out can take a while if someone in front of you bought tons of stuff. Workers here are nice and there's usually someone that can help you load your stuff into your car/truck :) Oh, free coffee near the entrance :) read more

I have been shopping here for 3 years now at least twice a week, so I have pretty much seen and experienced all that a restaurant owner can experience. Sometimes they run out of supplies, and it can be hard to get to the supplies with all the pallets in the way, but the way the employees treat us way makes up for any supply issues. I have to give special props to Dustin, who was recently promoted to a supervisor position, and rightly so. He is my go to guy, along with several others who make what could be a very tiring, back breaking shopping trip, into a fun and friendly experience every time. This place is great! They have the lowest prices in town and a wide variety of items. Everything from refrigeration units, slicers, meat, seafood, fresh produce, paper goods, chef wear, etc. The drawback is that its not open to the public. You have to have a business license to get a membership. Fortunately, my chef put me on his membership. Ill be shopping for the home here as well, their spices are dirt cheap! read more

I am blessed to have a housemate who has a business license. Without it, I would not have had the chance to be shopping here. To be honest, I recommend knowing the prices of competitors before coming here. The supplies here are by the bulk, but they are not always cheapest. The products here are great when you get them fresh. There is a cooler/freezer section off on the side that can get quite chilly.. so don't forget to put on a coat that's hanging outside of the entrance! Due to the vast size of this depot, I have not had the chance to venture through each aisle to see what they have to offer here. I did get to see the baking supplies aisle and love how they have large containers of pre-made fillings. If I start to do bulk baking, that is something I would love to buy here to save me time and money making the fruit fillings from home. I was hoping that the Philadelphia cream cheese here were cheap but Costco still offers it cheaper for the same 48oz box. I make a lot of cheese cakes so bulk buying cream cheese is a must for me! On my last visit, I saw a sign showing American Express cards are accepted.. I wish I didn't see that because I am tempted to buy more here now.. read more

This is an ANNOUNCEMENT to EVERYONE that goes to Restaurant Depot!!! There has been incidents where customers are inside buying items, while this is happening thieves are outside in the parking lot SMASHING WINDOWS and stealing valuable things. This is not the only problem.. they have signs that say LOCK,TAKE,HIDE, REPORT in big letters making sure you follow these. But yet they still don't have security outside patrolling. I'd understand that they might not be able to do anything but the least they could do is inform the owner of the vehicle that someone is SMASHING your car and taking anything that's in there. I am a concerned citizen that is looking out for the people that work really hard to make a living while a lowlife tries to take anything it wants. PLEASE PROTECT YOURSELF, PLEASE BE CAREFUL, If you have someone that is accompanying you have them stay in the car or stay outside looking out so this doesn't happen to you or anyone else. Awful customer service. Cashiers are rude. Make you feel as they are more superior than a customer. Don't pay attention as to a customer. When they make a mistake, make you feel like it's your fault. They are selective; they don't care if you're next in line, they will help someone else, not necessarily who's behind. Made a note to two managers on duty, I'm not confident if they will bring it to their Cashiers. I don't come to this place as often as used to. I take my business to another place. Restaurant depot is awesome. It is like an amateur cook's/baker's dream. If it's your first time here, you can spend hours and hours looking at everything they have. Their walk in freezer is huge, don't stay too long in here or you will get frost bites. Too bad you need a business license to shop here. read more

Fantastic place! It's like Disneyland for foodies, with pretty much everything you need for your food business, from bulk foods to chafing dishes, bus tubs, every container and cup you can think of and an enormous walk-in filled with a ton of meat, seafood, veggies and frozen goods. Sometimes you can find some pretty odd things in that walk in from sea urchins to live crawfish and whole goats. They carry halal meats as well, and that walk-in is the best place to do some leisurely shopping in the summer when it's 108 degrees outside. (They also have coats for you to throw on the rest of the time) If you have a license, they also carry alcohol. The only thing I'm not terribly impressed with are their spices. Trade Winds brand from Cash and Carry are much better quality. To those reviewers saying 'just use one of your friend's cards to get in', DON'T. Seriously. I was in line and watched the guy on front of me trying to use his friend's card. The manager got wise to it and told him that he was permanently banned from the store, as well as revoking his friend's card and banning HIM as well. So if you're a business owner and you loan out your card to a friend, you could very well permanently lose YOUR right to shop here. If you're that friend, is it really worth hurting your friend's livelihood just so you could get a gallon of garlic and a case of bacon? One of my favorite parts about coming here is running into other food vendors from the local farmers markets, as well as seeing that forlorn 14-hour look on the chef's faces as they push around their carts filled to the hilt with everything they need for their restaurant or food truck.
