On July 27, 2026, my wife and I visited store #560 around 5:30 p.m. We often drop by, on a whim, to get items that we do not usually purchase. Over the years, it has sort of been a treat we afford ourselves whenever we are in the area. When we entered the store, two employees were emerging from an employee area. The one following the other said something I believed to be a greeting. So, I said, "hey," and asked where an item was. The one leading, not having uttered a word, pointed in the general direction of the item for which I had asked. The one following replied with the location of the item. I thanked him and went to look for it. We then went off to explore other offerings. The fellow stocking the freezers was quite pleasant and helpful. We chose several items and headed to the cash register, where the employee who had answered my earlier query stated that the employee who had rudely pointed would help me at the adjoining register. That employee simply walked away from the register, without so much as a word. The other fellow then stated, "I'll help you there." I told him that any employee should answer a customer's question and not simply point when asked where an item is. He proceeded to defend the actions of his co-worker by stating that I "barked" my question "at" his co-worker. I advised him that my question was actually directed at him, since he was the only person who seemed to acknowledge my presence. He then told me how rude he found it that I had not greeted him, when he "greeted" me. I had said, "hey" when I heard him say something unintelligible, when he had initially emerged. I left the items I had intended to purchase at the register and left the store. Suffice it to say, if I am not assured that I will never experience that lack of professionalism when visiting your store, I will never return. Additionally, I will tell every fellow chef I know to never patronize your business. Customer service and quality of product must go hand-in-hand. The customer service and professionalism were sorely lacking in these two gentlemen. read more

I have no idea why it took me this long to check this place out. I wrongfully assumed that you'd need a business license to shop here like Restaurant Depot, but turns out Chef's Store is open to the general public. This place was recommended to me by a fellow baker after I was forced to switch my usual bread flour with a cheaper alternative due to rising costs. When I got here, I didn't even bother getting a cart because I was just going in for flour. Big mistake. I didn't even get past the first aisle until I had to succumb to the aid of a trusty shopping cart (which comes in three different sizes -- casual shopper, small business owner, and big business owner). While it's a warehouse style experience where most items are sold in bulk, there are a lot of things here you can get that aren't in bulk, such as coffee syrups, condiments, and fruits. It's similar to Costco, minus the crazy parking lot and crowd. The prices here are generally affordable, but some items are cheaper elsewhere. Another thing to keep an eye out for is their expiration dates. Overall, I was pleased with the store layout, cleanliness, stock, and customer service. This store will be my primary shopping spot I'll just supplement with a Costco and/or grocery store for items I don't find here. I'm lucky I live close by! read more

Today was a graduation event at the school near by the store , I park there and I was running to give my sister some balloons and staff for it, after I was going to shop at the store , Manager Danny was very rude even I explain he said , no one can park here for more than 10 min, really when I shop here I expend literally more than 40 min, I found this very rude. Cash and Carry where have you been all my life?! I love you and don't need a membership to shop here. Score!! The price are can be compared to Costco or Sam's club. Although, I find buying my beverages elsewhere as I feel charging 2-3 times more on water is absurd. I love that they have items that the you can not purchase at regular grocery stores. I do find that they carry a lot of the same items as Smart & Final stores as well. I like the wide selections of ethic products as well as domestic products too. The list goes on and on. I mostly purchase Low Mein noodles and my Udon noodle here. I especially love the vegetable selection. They also, sell there spices at better price than anywhere I've shopped in the area. I only dislike I have with Cash & Carry is, customer service is hit and miss most of the time. I feel like when you need help it hard to find someone and when you don't need help there's always some asking, How can I help? Like really?! Be consistent in the customer service. I rate 4 stars for the wide selection of food item and spices. I rate 2 stars on the non alcoholic beverages lower then prices please almost $5 for a 35 count of Crystal Geyser is too high! I love being able to put together a plate of treats for a party or being able to get disposable trays to take food to an event. They have so many supplies and I get excited every time I go here because it's hard to contain myself. So many fun things you can't get in the ordinary stores. 2 oz cups with lids to take salad dressing to go with my salad for lunch, aluminum pans to take my pulled pork or chicken to a potluck, disposable gloves which are great for when I cut up chicken I cook up for my fur babies or when cooking treats that I put on them party trays, compartment clam shells and individually wrapped plasticware sets for when I feed the unhoused, and gallon jug syrups for making shaved ice for events. Man, this store is so much fun and the prices are right. I love just strolling the aisles to get ideas for later. So many possibilities!! It's not just for restaurant owners. read more

I love this store. I call it the Restaurant Store. It's a bulk food store. You can get 20-50 pounds of rice, potatoes. Big baking potatoes. Fair food, and their meat is to die for. We buy the whole too sirloin. Usually 14 pounds or so. Around $60. I am no butcher, but if you watch YouTube you can follow along with a real butcher cutting your steaks and stew meat. I am the freezer baggie queen. They sell that too. I portion everything out and put in freezer bags and freeze it. The first time I went there I saved so much money I bought an inexpensive electric meat slicer and a small cube freezer. They have the whole filet, tri tip for 1/2 the cost in a regular grocery store. You just have to play butcher and cut them apart. We can get 3 nice tritip from that meat. Let's not forget 120 slices of cheese. Not the vegetable oil cheese in the grocery store, but real cheese. Shedded cheese's for a whole lot less than any supermarket. I've turned so many people on to this store. They tell me it's like a Costco, (food wise) without the membership fee. We buy the chicken tenders or strips and I can fill up 4 gallon freezer bags or more for $31. If you are baking get 25 pounds of flour. Around $20. Fill those gallon freezer bags and throw it in the freezer. We also buy Chinese containers for a few dollars. 250 of them. Who needs Tupperware. We use them for our lunches and left overs. If we don't eat the leftovers I simply throw it away. . Go try this store. You will love it as much as I do. Look at their website site first. It will give you an idea of what they have. read more

Great customer service. Drove up from the central valley to pick up items for a caterings. Stopped in to purchase some items at the store. While rushing to get back before rush hour, I forgot to grab my cambro container lids on the counter by the register. Didn't realize I didn't have them until the next morning. This is a store for restaurants and people who want to by big quantity items while they do have some items in smaller size available. You dont need no membership or to be a restaurant owner its open to the public. They sell just about everything here, but limited to the selection of different brands. I have purchased sliced cheese, from sharp white chedder which i cant find anywhere else, pepper jack. beef brisket is good quality, a few soups in the frozen section. Hey dont hate till you try them. They are big sizes and all around $9 to $12 and have a lot of varietys. There spice and herb section is huge and prices are cheap for the quantity. There milk, eggs and other dairy products are good and cheap as well. Overall they have big quantities and items that i cant find in other store. Great example if you like torani syrups they have so many to choose, they even have a sweet heat flavor were have you ever seen this before? So if you have a big family or little but you all rwally like to use something alot, ketchup, eggs, syrups, herb spices, candy etc you should check them out and see what they have. Here I buy things like napkins, cups, plates, bags, buckets and a million other necessary evils for large-scale parties at rock-bottom cost. It's basically a warehouse and most of the products are just in boxes and only discernible by the manufacturer codes on the side. How many times do you go to a big name warehouse store (Costco, Sam's Club, etc.) and realize you actually don't have enough of what you need? Well, look no further because "Cash & Carry" will solve that problem in a heartbeat. Located north of Downtown Sacramento on industrial Richards Blvd, as well as a true warehouse store in all respects, "Cash & Carry" is literally the leaders of the big bulk products here in Sacramento. "Cash & Carry" is a very popular establishment for small restaurant business owners who buy very large quantities of food in multiple packages. For example, let's say you are co-owner of a Chinese restaurant and need lots of rice. Well.. problem solved as they sell 50-100lb bags of rice here! And how about if you're looking to plan a wedding for 200-300 guests and need lots of condiments, cups, & utensils? They have such a sizable amount that you'll still have plenty left over. Keep in mind, I haven't stepped foot in this place since around 2008. However, nothing has changed; even the prices are strikingly similar to how I remember them years ago. Once entering, you will notice a decent-sized warehouse with plenty of aisles throughout the store. There are a lack of employees but everything is laid out fairly easy to find. And there are no shopping carts so be ready to haul stuff on a flat-bed dolly. The prices here are amazingly impressive as well. You can easily buy a 30lb. bag of Russet potatoes for a wickedly low $10.00! And if that doesn't convince you, their meats are way, way less than any Costco warehouse. I've seen beef briskets for $3.49/lb., ground chuck for $2.99/lb., and boneless/skinless chicken breasts for $2.99/lb. Keep in mind that these items are not small in terms of weight. Expect to spend quite a bit as these items are in very large packs that range anywhere from 15 to 30lbs. However, don't let these prices fool you as certain items that have a significantly higher markup price than your neighborhood grocery store. I recently saw a container of the Folgers "Classic Roast" coffee (that brews 270 cups) for a pricey $13.99. However, you can usually buy this at your local Safeway or even Target from $7.99-$9.99. As long as you are savvy in knowing general prices of food products, you should be okay. Overall, this place is quite impressive and has been the go-to warehouse store for many years. Many people are also under the assumption that you must be a business owner to purchase items here. Not true! And best of all, you don't need a membership card like Costco or Sam's! I love going to this store. They always have exactly what I need. Unlike Costco who keeps raising their prices and changes stuff all the time so what you liked before and returned to buy more of, is no longer is there. I can buy my favorite things at cash and carry every time I go there. I no longer buy Romain lettuce at Raleys or Costco. I found a 6 pack of romaine lettuce at cash and carry that's always perfect! Nice and green, perfect size and not all brown. It's perfect every time. I love the crispy strips I put on my salads and in my soups. About $4.00 for a large bag. This place is my latest awesome find. The sign out front intimates that you have to be a business owner, ready to back your box van up to the loading dock and load up on a gross of push brooms and 50 gallon drums of Italian dressing. Not the case at all... You can be a complete nobody and shop here! In fact, you can be a complete nobody without cash and shop here; they take Visa/Master. So, basically the only accurate part of their street sign is the "carry" part. Now, there is a bit of the Costco/Sam's CLub danger here: don't buy over your head. This store sells most items in large containers and in bulk. There are many frozen, dried, canned, box items that you don't have to worry about. Also, they do sell some items in small amounts (cheese, eggs, milk, citrus, bananas, etc). If you need to feed a group or if you like to cook at home a lot, this place is great for picking up staple items at unrivaled prices. There's not much organic to choose from and some stuff is downright post chemical revolution plasti-food, but overall the inventory is quality. read more
