My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend getaway to Lac a la Loutre, and we are very happy we stopped in at Restaurant Le Poirot at Auberge du Lac a la Loutre for dinner. The atmosphere in the dining room was very nice - an antique, fine dining feel. Service was excellent.
In terms of our meal, we both opted for 3 courses. The carrot soup was well flavoured and served very warm. The warm bread was a nice accompaniment. I had the salmon, which was served with a creamy rosemary sauce with a subtle sweetness. My husband enjoyed his filet mignon, which was perfectly cooked. The potatoes and vegetables had just the right amount of butter and salt! Both desserts were tasty, although clearly came right from the freezer.
We dined with one other couple on a Saturday evening. It was late in the season, and the place is definitely off the beaten path. I hope others come to enjoy this wonderful restaurant! Perhaps we will stay at the auberge next time we visit. read more
