Unfortunately we were pretty disappointed. The price was very high for fondue but we were willing to give it a shot. But when the server brought out the fondue with a half inch of liquid on top and warned us we would have to stir the fondue a lot to keep it from splitting, we knew we were in trouble. I've never seen fondue split like that. There was an inch or so of runny milk on top and a gluey blob of cheese in the middle no matter how much we stirred. It was a shame because the flavor was pretty good but the texture gave me the ick. And the quality to price ratio was outrageous. We might consider trying them again for chocolate fondue but I wouldn't come back for cheese.

The fondue personally was good but not satisfying enough for a dinner alone. I actually preferred dipping the cooked meat and seafood from the other side of the table. It's a fun experience but for the price I wouldn't come back again.

The bartender took our order. We tried one of the Canadian beer *blood brothers shumai IPA* which was fantastic. Ordered the 1.5 LB Prince Edward Island oyster bucket which was spicy plus super awesome. Also got the drunken duck wings which was a pleasant surprise, soft, juicy and a real treat. The BBQ chicken flatbread was perfect. At the end of it, we were stuffed with happiness. I couldn't be happier with their food and their friendly service.

As there was rain, we opted for a place that was close and this fit the bill. The Restaurant itself is well kept. We ordered adult beverages. I ordered a Manhattan and my wife, a glass of red wine. Additionally, we ordered their beer cheese appetizer. Our drinks arrived, and my Manhattan did not seem to be one. In fact, it tasted like an old-fashioned to me. After a little bit of discussion with the waitress and bartender, I decided just to finish the beverage and get something else. The beer cheese was served with pretzels and tortilla chips. It was actually fairly good tasting! My wife ordered their chicken schnitzel dinner while I ordered their chicken curry bowl. The chicken schnitzel was fairly straightforward and my wife thought it tasted good. The chicken curry was a different flare than I was thinking of, but not bad. They seem to be very, very busy, we we're on the verge of departing when we finally were approached by our waitress, maybe it was the rain or the protesters for the high speed rail? With all the other choices around, we would be hard-pressed to return.

The Short Version: Pricey restaurant at the Lac-Leamy…read moreCasino. Food was delicious and service was superb. The Long Version: My husband and I had dinner at Arôme and everything was great from start to finish. We had reservations for 5pm so the restaurant was nice and empty when we arrived, but it gradually filled up and was bustling when we left around 7pm. I had a cocktail, the Soleil Spice ($13.05) and my husband had an 8 oz glass of Pinot Noir ($16). We then shared the Duck Confit Wellington ($29) as an appetizer and we shared the Seafood Plate ($129) as our main. I had a second cocktail, the Sur L'eau ($15.22) and my husband had a glass of 20 year old port ($14.50). By this time my husband was stuffed, as he ate more of the seafood plate than me, lol, but I still had room for dessert and when I heard there was a dessert buffet table, I opted for that ($14) haha. The Soleil Spice was easily among the top 5 drinks I've ever had in my life! It was fruity and spicy, but subtle spiciness that builds and only hits the back of your throat. It was so good. It had brown rum, pineapple juice and ginger bear and a "spicy tropical infusion." It was garnished with a slice of dried blood orange. I will dream about this drink. The Duck Confit Wellington was more like a big spring roll, lol. The pastry was very thin and crispy and the filling was like tender pulled duck. It came with some leafy greens with pickled oyster mushrooms and a port reduction. It was very tasty, but pricey at $30 for such a small portion. The Seafood Plate was impressive. It was 2 lobster tails (each cut it half), 4 jumbo shrimp, 4 scallops, 2 pieces of fish (we had our choice of salmon, cod or pickerel and we went with salmon), mussels and clams. All the seafood was laid on top of a bed of risotto and the Seafood Plate also came with asparagus and pickled celeriac, as well as a grilled lemon cut it half and some garlic butter. The seafood was delicious, albeit a bit salty. The lobster tails and shrimp were plump and juicy. The scallops were nicely seared. The salmon had a delicious smokey taste. And the clams and mussels were nice too. I was not a fan of the risotto as it was too cheesy smelling but my husband who enjoys strong cheeses loved it. So he ate pretty much all of the risotto. I liked the al dente asparagus and the slightly pickled celeriac. I did not enjoy my second cocktail, the Sur L'eau, as much as my first. This drink was way too sweet for me. It had Chambord, Rosemont elderflower liqueur, berry and elderflower infusion, and white cranberry juice. It was garnished with 3 raspberries and a wedge of lime. It had good flavours but way too sweet. I should have gotten a second Soleil Spice instead, haha. The dessert table had a lot of options. I wanted to try one of everything but my limited stomach space did not allow this, lol. I still did pretty well though, I tried their cream puffs (pastry was dry and filling was whipped cream and I prefer custard), tiramisu (was good), carrot cake (was moist), macarons (great texture), flan (delicious and not too sweet), lemon meringue tart (tasty, but the crust was a little too hard), and the best dessert was the strawberry pistachio mousse cup (so rich, smooth and delicious). My husband looked at me in disbelief as I ate all these items and said I must have two hollow legs. Haha. Our server was Daniel and he was fantastic. Very attentive but not intrusive. I really appreciated how he advised us that the seafood plate was large. We originally planned on ordering 2 appetizers but he advised that would likely be too much food, and he was right. We would have been bursting had we also ordered the calamari as planned, not to mention then I wouldn't have had room for dessert, lol. He also let me take a look at the dessert table buffet so I could decide if I wanted that option or order dessert from the menu. Overall we had a fantastic dinner at Arôme. The decor is upscale, but there's no dress code. We saw people in tuxedos and we saw people in cargo pants and baseball caps during dinner. It's more casual during breakfast of course. We stayed overnight at the Hilton Lac-Leamy and our room price included the continental breakfast buffet. So we had breakfast there the next morning. The selection was good with cold cuts, cheese, pastries, breads, fruit, yogurt, granola, smoothies, juice and coffee. The continental breakfast listed price was $21/person. The hot breakfast with eggs, and hot meats like bacon and sausages was available for an $11 upgrade (it sells for $32/person), but we did not get this. The food was tasty but not worth the listed price for breakfast, in my opinion. Dinner was worth it though ;) The restaurant is attached to the Lac-Leamy Casino and the Hilton Lac-Leamy Hotel. Lots of free parking. Review #22 (2026)

I originally wanted a drink. I was in front of Cacao 70. I had never been to any of its franchises in my life. It was time to check this one out. This dessert place is next to a plant store. Deadly for someone who loves plants and chocolate. I was immediately greeted by a young man. He said to sit anywhere that I'd like. I chose a table with four chairs. My bag with my new pair of Crocs occupied one of them with my purse. I sat down and got menus from the man. There were a couple of men, it looked like a dad-son duo, sitting by the window. They ordered a bit ahead of me and pretty much wolfed down everything. I asked for water. I got cold water in a glass carafe, along with a glass. This water alone hit the spot. I ordered an iced mocha from the menu first. It's a mom-son duo running the show. They speak Cantonese. I overheard their conversation attempting to secure a used stove over the phone. What caught my attention on the menu was doing a fondue for one. Although I wasn't dying to eat anything, dessert time with fruit seemed perfect. I chose dark chocolate as my classic chocolate fondue. The dunkable items that accompanied the fondue consisted of chocolate brownie bites, classic waffle bites, and fruit (bananas, strawberries, and pineapple). The iced mocha was awesome. I heard it being blended in the kitchen before it came to me. It was cold, and had the best balance of coffee and chocolate flavours. It does have dairy in it. I thoroughly enjoyed having a fondue hour on a Thursday afternoon. The fruit was fresh and the perfect size to dunk into the dark chocolate. The sheen on the dark chocolate was impressive. This place does chocolate fondue superbly. There is something zen about dunking fruit and other goodies into dark chocolate with a fondue fork and indulging in each coated morsel. The dark chocolate was perfect. It wasn't bitter. It wasn't sugary. It was exactly how I like dark chocolate, but in fondue form. The chocolate brownie bites made you feel like this fondue experience was fancy. Chocolate on chocolate on chocolate. The bites had a crispy exterior that held the softer interior together as you dunked it into the fondue. So good! The waffle bites were equally as cool. It was like having chocolate waffles, but better and without any maple syrup or whipped cream. I paid at the counter with a credit card. It also allowed me to tip. I let the man know that everything was delicious, which he appreciated. This place didn't have air conditioning, but cool air did circulate well. There was a fly around, which was the only annoying part of the experience. I used the washroom before I left. It was a single stall that was clean. It's to the left of the counter when you walk up to it. I loved being here. I really should visit Cacao 70 more often. I'm so glad that my first experience at one was in Ottawa. (314)
