My husband and I love fondue and have had it everywhere from Switzerland to Melting Pot. We were really excited to try this place during our honeymoon. Unfortunately we were pretty disappointed. The price was very high for fondue but we were willing to give it a shot. But when the server brought out the fondue with a half inch of liquid on top and warned us we would have to stir the fondue a lot to keep it from splitting, we knew we were in trouble. I've never seen fondue split like that. There was an inch or so of runny milk on top and a gluey blob of cheese in the middle no matter how much we stirred. It was a shame because the flavor was pretty good but the texture gave me the ick. And the quality to price ratio was outrageous. We might consider trying them again for chocolate fondue but I wouldn't come back for cheese. read more

While it was a fun experience, I would not recommend going unless you have a group that will order a little bit of everything. 2 of us ordered the cheese fondue with charcuterie, the other 4 has the fish and meat that you cook in the stock. Overall we had a great experience at La Savoie! It was a great group dinner spot and the staff was friendly and accommodating and explained the menu to us. We ordered the raclette and the broth option. The raclette was delicious and it's cool to have the fresh melted option all dinner. If we were to go back I think we would have ordered the oil option because the meat and seafood was not very flavorful (the dips did help though!). The older lady with short black hair that works in this restaurant needs to be fired immediately. She is the rudest most horrible waitress/hostess I have ever encountered. We had a reservation which we called to confirm FOUR times after changing the time of it to be told it's 100% confirmed. After arriving and sitting for 30 minutes this witch came up to us to tell us we "lied about our reservation" and never made it. After locating it in her book she told me that the reservation was at 4pm and we were confused about ever changing it and never changed it. I then see that she had my name incorrect in the book the whole time, so how did they even confirm my reservation the 4x I called thThis went on for 10 minutes of her WAVING HER HAND IN MY FACE after I asked her to please remove her hand away from my face. She then proceeded to tell my fiancé he should see a therapist. On top of everything this was on Valentine's Day. Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service. Oh and she proceeded to argue with another table after she was done with us. The food is mediocre at best- do yourself a favor and try somewhere else. UPDATE: upon walking out she said to my fiancé "never come here again" and proceeded to KICK HIM WITH HER FOOT while SHOVING him out the door!!! Insane. Stumbled upon this place while visiting Mont Tremblant. Really great place if you are visiting with a big group or family. The atmosphere is very cozy and the restaurant is right in the village! We decided on the racklette because it was literally half a wheel of bubbly cheese! I almost didn't believe that it could be a whole meal, boy was I wrong. It starts with the salad. It was a simple salad with cabbage. It was good, however it was drowning in dressing. Then, we had a platter of prosciutto, salami, and another meat. Also potatoes, cornichon, and pearl onions. The bubbly hot cheese with these items were so delicious! It was hot, creamy, and the vegetable acidity cut through the fat. We wish there were more vegetables to break up the fat. You don't want it to burn but you also want to get it on all the various items it was served with. I can only speak to the raclette since we didn't have the fondue here. It was our first time having raclette, so we have nothing to compare it to. We have had fondue several times. Pros: - service was fast - we were seated right away (came in June, maybe slow season?) Cons: - expensive for what it is - plain melted cheese over charcuterie (sliced prosciutto and salami), boiled potatoes and bread. Our bill was $120 for two people sharing raclette and one beer. I'm glad we tried it but likely wouldn't have it again (at this price). It seems like a large amount of money for food which requires zero preparation on the kitchens part. I could see though in the winter why people would want to eat this after a day of skiing, it's very rich and the space heater contraption that warms the cheese would make the dinner warm and cozy. If I'm ever in Mont Tremblant, you can bet that I'll be making my way to La Savoie at least once for their ridiculously delicious fondue. My family and I have been coming here for Christmas dinner well over 15 years (give or take a few years hiatus) and for good reason... their food just can't be beat. For our family of five, we always order four orders of the La Fondue Au Fromage (cheese fondue), two orders of the La Fondue Au Bouillon (broth fondue) with beef filet mignon and a side of vegetables. At La Savoie, each order is meant to serve 2, so definitely order accordingly to how much you and your family can eat. As y'all can see, my family can eat A LOT. Their fondues are served with bread, a salad, rice, potatoes two ways (whole and cut) and the best array of sauces I have ever seen (and tasted). The peppercorn, béarnaise and garlic sauces are my favorite, but you literally can't go wrong with any of them. All of the sides (and sauces) are also unlimited, so eat to your heart's desire. I know I always do. Their cheese fondue is hands down the best I've ever had and I've frequented and tasted many, many cheese fondues over my 25 years of life. It is flavorful and savory and oh-so-tasty when dipped by the bread and veggies. No joke, that cheese fondue somehow finds its way into my dreams more times than I'd like to admit. While their beef is not the most tender that I've ever had, it is still quite good. I'd probably prefer a tad bit more flavor in their broth, but aside from that, I'm still a fan. They serve their filet to you in large chunks, so definitely be sure to slice them into smaller pieces on your own to minimize cooking time. Mmm that medium rare life though. If you're somehow still hungry after all that cheese and meat (like my fatass family is), get an order of their La Fromage Au Chocolat which comes with strawberries, bananas, and pound cake. It's pretty much the perfect way to end the meal. It's probably only been 18 hours or so since I finished eating (read: dying a slow fondue death) at La Savoie, but I'm already counting down the days until I can eat there again. Too soon? She only came to our table a few times and never gave us more water or drinks because she was too busy taking shots and serving another table. We took my family here during vacation. There were 8 of us. Our waiter was in a rush and did not adequately explain the process to us. He basically talked fast pushed us into ordering what he thought would work for us and then slapped the melting pot, racette cheese melter, the hot grill and our food down on the table and ran off leaving us all looking confused. He also tried to add a magnum of wine (360$) to our order and only three of us were having wine. The sauces served along side our food we had to cook were not tasty. We basically cooked ourselves a very portioned out meal on one grill which most of us could not reach, 1 melter pot, and a "hot as hell racette" (which made my mom extremely uncomfortable sitting next to it) Overall the experience was lacking on all counts. Had an excellent gustatory experience at La Savoie. Five person reservation honored immediately upon entrance. Decor is cozy and the space is small and intimate. Can't go wrong with the Raclette; scraping melted cheese onto various charcuterie and bread. Excellent white wine to chase the decadence. Delicious steak and seafood cooked on the table. All food and vegetables were fresh. Finished the meal with an apple brandy digestif. Our server, Carol, was very courteous and friendly and genuinely engaged our group. They offer a few types of fondue (cheese, broth, wine, or oil), and raclette as an appetizer or main. With his tattoos and edgy hairstyle, Sebastien may not look like a sommelier in the traditional respect, but he helped us pick a bottle of wine that paired well with what we'd be eating, and suited our taste. Definitely come here with a larger group, so you can try a fondue or two, and a raclette. It's pretty heavy to make your main course, but the raclette is a fun food that you can't get just anywhere in Canada. Paired with a broth fondue you can get a balanced meal (beef, seafood, and some veggies), and still try the rich cheese that you came for.  At the risk of sounding like an infomercial -  it doesn't end there! With your fondue, meat, and veggies, you are served five delicious sauces, and unlimited bread, potatoes, rice, and salad. And to top it off, the service is great! Despite being a packed restaurant, the service was attentive, and they made a genuine effort to make sure you were enjoying your meal. Amazing food! I went to this restaurant last night with my family. We had the raclette appetizer. My mother and I both had cheese fondue, and my brother and father had broth fondue. It came with bread, potatoes, salami, ham, prosciutto, seafood, filet mignon, vegetables, different sauces, rice and salad. It was a very filling and delicious meal, and service was quick and friendly. The cheese fondue is A LOT better than the broth fondue, my brother and father couldn't stop stealing our food! I'm not sure whether the bread and potatoes are unlimited but we didn't need to order more because what they gave us was sufficient. However, it came to about 350$ CAD... Very expensive.
