This place will be one of the ones I'll stay in your mind for a very long time, the location is premium and the food, service and ambiance was outstanding. The drinks came out right away, and the food quality, portions, and flavor were on point. The waiter was super helpful and friendly and ensured we enjoyed each dish. After lunch, he brought all of us a shot of some house liqueur on the house as a thank you for coming in. This place is amazing, and I will 100% recommend it and plan on stopping by when visiting Prague

On a weekday evening at 8pm, the quoted wait time for a party of 3 was 45 minutes. Luckily a large table that sat 10 opened up in the back of the restaurant and we were able to share this with another couple. 45 minutes turned into a 10 minute wait...score! After being seated, our waitress immediately came to the table with menus and a basket of complimentary bread, and also took our drink orders. She continued to be pleasant and attentive throughout the meal, which was great. Decided on the Kingswood hard apple cider to drink, which was okay. It was cold and refreshing, but was kind of flat and more on the dry than sweet side. For our meal we started with the steak tartare (made from veal) and share the smoked pork knee. The tartare was very good and went well with the toasted homemade bread that accompanied it. The veal was of good quality and minced nicely. Mixed with anchovies and shallots, the tartare had great flavor. The smoked pork knee was huge and could be easily shared between two people as a meal. It was roasted in dark beer and spices, so it had tons of flavor. I wished the pork skin was crispier, but enjoyed the very tender meat. The dish didn't come with sides, so don't forget to order some carbs/veggies to go along with it. This traditional Czech meal seemed to be the thing to order here as all the tables in the back of the restaurant were devouring it. After we finished our meal, we were given a complimentary Czech alcoholic beverage (and C a lollipop) along with our check. We weren't sure if we were supposed to sip it or take it as a shot, but it went down smoothly. Definitely recommend Restaaurant Mustek if you are in the area. Hopefully you can score a table at 1 of the 3 swing sets out front.

The 'King Charles IV' - steak, pork and veggies served like a shishkabob on a sword.

I come to Prague all the time for work and am often entertaining fellow international visistors (often Americans) who are new to Prague. I've always avoided the 'toursity' parts of town, but just came to this restaurant for the first time - I feel foolish for having not been there before. It was great and I highly recommend it. 1. MENUS. The menus had pictures and were in four languages. They were easy to understand! I'm all for being local and it felt like a cop out, but it sure was easy to order. 2. APPETIZERS. The appetizer list was long, looked tasty and had most of the traditional Czech starters (except for garlic soup). We split a ham appetizer that was tasty. 3. DRINKS. My colleague ordered a beer and I had a glass of wine (which came in an airline bottle). Expectations were met, not exceeded. 4. SERVICE. The service was quick, there was a TV showing the chef preparing meals. The server wasn't particularly friendly, but was knowledgeable and fast. 5. NOVELTY. My colleague had a pig knuckle on a spit. I had the 'King Charles IV' which was steak, pork and veggies served on a sword. Everything was very tasty!

This is my first time in Prague, and per friends and guidebooks I did not have high expectations on food or service. That being said, I loved this place! Right between old town and lesser town, restaurant mustek is perfectly positioned to snatch tourists looking to try the local fare. I ordered the standard sized Pilsner Urquell, while my companion ordered the "kid's size". I highly recommend the beef goulash, it's delicious and the presentation is remarkable. This service is the best we've had, We came back twice!

Yes, this restaurant is located on one of the busiest streets in Prague. And sure, there is a hooded squire out front tempting passers by on the street to enter. But it is worth it. The restaurant's comforting aroma and warm interior are so welcoming and homey. The garlicky potato soup belly-warming but not too heavy. The goulash is really full of flavor, with tender bites of beef. Bread, served with the meal, comes out warm and fresh and perfect for sopping up the juices and sauces of these heavy Germanic dishes. I would highly recommend this place. It's accessible, delicious and pretty much perfect for any navigationally-challenged visitors and meanderers.

This place is amazing! Me and my mother went here for my 25th birthday and we had a great experience. The food is excellent! And our waitress was very kind as well. She even gave us 2 glasses of Czech liquor for free. Very nice! 10/10

This is our first time in this amazing city of Prague. We sat for dinner on one of the swing sets outside the restaurant. It's a set that seats four people with a table. The food was a good experience. The only disappointed was the smoked pork roast. It was very dry and hard to eat. The rest of the food was well prepared and tasty. The service was great.

We are early diners and the only couple near us were also Americans on holiday. Our server spoke excellent English and guided us through the menu choices. After an appetizer of tomatoes and cucumbers in a light dressing, I ordered the sirloin in cream and my wife the trout filet. The food, like the service, was superb. Our server surprised us with a complimentary "shot" of a very strong Czeck liqueur at the end of the meal. we had a grand time and hope you will too!!

It was a pleasant walk from the Hilton Atrium Hotel, and the weather was beautiful. We arrived and were immediately seated and brought menus. The decor is nothing special, and it spoke to a nice Czech restaurant vibe. Our server was very good, promptly returning to get our drink order (I had a glass of Chardonnay and we both had waters). We were not super hungry, so we bypassed the appetizer and salad selections and went straight for the entree menu. My wife chose the Goulash and I selected the Grilled Chicken Breast. Our meals arrived shortly, and they were both hot. My wife loved the Goulash, which was accompanied by two large potato dumpling pieces. The gravy was thick and flavorful and the meat was fork-tender and delicious. My Chicken was a bit tough, but had pretty good flavor with the sauce. It was also served with a side of Gnocchi, that paired nicely with the dish. The advertised cauliflower and peas were a bit sparse, but the Gnocchi made up for it. Service was very good, with our water glasses refilled frequently and servers asking if everything was good. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal, though the Chicken could have been a bit more tender. If we get back to Prague, we would definitely like to come back and try one of the Duck dishes as well as the goose liver pate' appetizer. Ambiance - 9/10 Service - 10/10 Food - 9/10 Value - 10/10

I was about to order a glass of wine when I saw the Pilsner Urquell in the three styles. Although the menu did not have the official name, I opted for The Cut (aka Šnyt), which is more foam than beer. For dinner, I went with the Veal & Cheese Rissole. The breading provided plenty of flavor to the veal & pork combo. The mashed potato had a very creamy texture. Unfortunately, the cucumber salad was the least favorite of the three. The shredded cucumber was akin to sauerkraut being drowned in water. I regretfully passed on the dessert. From my vantage point, I could not see anyone ordering dessert. Even more regrettable, before I left, I discovered the restroom was not well cleaned.

Having had just arrived in Prague earlier that day and having cycled 100+ kilometers, I was quite famished when I arrived. I hadn't made a reservation but being a singleton at an early evening hour, the staff found me a table quickly. I started by ordering an alcohol-free beer and then I perused the menu. Marek, the waiter, soon came to my aide and helped me pick out a hearty portion: dumplings, of course! For dessert, I also had another set of dumplings and I loved both dishes.
