We LOOOOOOVED the vibes at rainbow cafe!!! I will be sincere and upfront the prices are out of charts honestly. We've had this similar experience in Greece, France, Italy and even Colombia and the money behind all of them was not as expensive as RBC. I will say it is the ONLY place in all of the island where you will get drunk. These people KNOW how to party and their drinks are incredible!!! Not only are they yummy but they really do get the vibes going FAST! We started with a bottle of rose, servers greeted us immediately after we were sat down (even though we had a wait of like 20 minutes EVEN WITH A RESERVATION MADE AND CONFIRMED) and then by recommendation of our server we tried their RBC Tequila and omg hahahaha just one of those will have you dancing on their tables (literally, whatever they are doing please keep doing it, so worth it). We do feel like the prices are extremely jerked food and drink wise even with the reservation you must spend a minimum of $300. The water is so amazing, no coral, no trash, super clean and honestly after spending two weeks out here on a mission to find the best places I can honestly say out of all the beach clubs in the island rainbow cafe is #1 on almost everything but the price. Towels are complimentary gifts you get to take home which was a nice memory. We had their fruit platter which was AWESOME and delish fruit perfect for a drinking day at the beach and still being healthy and help your body stay hydrated. We also ordered their truffle pizzetta and as a truffle girlie I was in heaven, the smell, the flavor but above all the amount of truffle on that pizza? They really gave us a bagatelle like experience out in Saint Marteen and even though we felt jerked we still left happy? Would we visit rainbow cafe again? Probably because we already know what to expect but we have been trying other places that are also hyped on IG and so far the only one that has lived up to the reels has been RBC, come wallet ready but above all come ready to get schiwfty because these people know how to party and do not let the front fool you, you will have fun and you most certainly will have some of the best food in the island in this spot. read more

The food was good. However, be careful of hidden charges they will add. For example, chicken does not come with a side BUT when ordering you will be asked what side will you like. Be aware, that is an additional $10 for the side added. When we received our check we explained that was not how the order was asked. Instead of listening, the waitress defended his action and continued to say he has trained in multiple restaurants and in France that's how it's done. This place is definitely a must when visiting Seymour. It was the best beach and Beachside lounge experience I had doing my trip. I started off at breakfast at the rooftop. The breakfast was good, not great. And for the price I would've expected more. Took about an hour and 45 minutes to eat breakfast and then we went down to the beach. I had made a reservation online for the sunbed. Was not requested or informed to pay anything for it. It wasn't until after my friend and I finished with the dad that we were told it was $20 per person... I know that's not bad, but no one told us that prior. The beds were an amazing experience though. Super comfortable and came with a towel. as the afternoon progressed, party people were celebrating in the rooftop and the music got louder. Server was TRASH!! Non attentive and dismissive!! We had a group of 8 who had a reservation and LOVE to over tip!! No water refills, no checks if the food was good or to our liking. It started to rain hard and the table got soaked and the power went out. We told her about it and said nothing. Didn't even wipe the table or offer napkins or towels. She spent more attention on other tables and didn't even look our way. And that was from the start. We had to ask who our server was because she didn't even acknowledge us when we sat down. She may have predetermined disposition of our group and that's not ok. She didn't even give us a chance. For starters , 2026 presented a different and less service oriented attitude at the Rainbow cafe than in years past . Beware and read ALL of the policies before booking. Particularly if your reservation is for more than 6 persons and all in your party want to sunbathe. It can be a wonderful place with special comfy Sun beds with nice food and drink served on the beach if desired. In years past it was great. However , in 2026 buyer beware.!!! If you're American, they give you the impression they really don't want you . They can be quite rude and unyielding even if you're nice. If your party is more than 6, the website will allow you to reserve the number of chairs you want. We reserved 9 chairs 72 hours ahead of time. We were excited . You think all seems great. But, be advised, as they will wait until less than 48 hours before your booking (which is their standard cancellation policy) to tell you the reservation that was accepted on line, is invalid. They will then say they will charge you a cancellation fee of 30 euros per lounge chair reserved. Even though your reservation was accepted online 72 hours before; they simply don't care. They will tell you 6 is the maximum #!, your reservation is invalid and shockingly they will tell you they are going to charge you the cancellation fee for the number of chairs that was accepted ( 9x 30 euros). Unbelievable ! They will say they are trying to provide a solution, offering a few different options with no sun lounges and a greater priced option with a minimum spend of 100 euros per person. If you want any sun lounges at that point they will charge an additional 60 euros per chair more In addition to the minimum spend of 100 euros per person. Say what ! If you try to explain or protest, nicely, they argue and are unyielding that YOU didn't read the small print of rules; no matter that the reservation was accepted on line . I'm sad to write this review as I've enjoyed this establishment previously without challenge. There are many wonderful restaurants and beaches in Grand Case. Go somewhere else if you have more than six persons in your party. I wanted them to experience the Rainbow Cafe I've known in years past, but it was not to be. read more

We were here for lunch during a trip to the Caribbean. The environment is second to none. It is a busy, happening place and we were able to sit at our reservation time. We had beach chairs reserved for the day. They were fantastic...the beach offers some very good snorkeling despite not having a reef of any other large natural habitat. Wait time to actually get drinks and food was absurdly long. I am convinced that they completely forgot to enter our orders and only after asking (after 45 minutes) did I feel they had a sense of urgency. When we finally got our food, I will admit, it was pretty fantastic! I got the Sexy Salmon roll and the red snapper fillet. Both were fantastic! The wait time here for food and drinks had me on edge of rating a three. But, the view is like looking into heaven and the food was fantastic. Had the wait for food and drinks been better this would have been an easy 5 star review. read more

I was dissatisfied with this restaurant because of unexplainable high prices, lame music, unwelcoming stuff. For instance, pizza Margarita 12" - 23€, Sole - 82€ with one side, whole red sniper, 600g - 78€, salads - 24-32€, drinks - 15-18€. Music - lame singer/guitar player. Service - also unsatisfied: while the restaurant was almost empty I asked for a table closer to an ocean side and got denied because of "possible reservations". Only after I said that I'm not going to stay, they granted my request. When we left, the restaurant was 3/4 empty - there was no point to argue with me over the table. read more

This is a difficult review to write, but an important one. On Christmas Eve, my oldest daughter--who is currently serving in the U.S. military--and I visited Rainbow Café. I had made a reservation in advance and arrived shortly before opening. Despite this, we were told to wait outside while others entered, then seated all the way in the back, even though the restaurant had just opened and many front beach chairs were empty. When I questioned this, I was told the front seating was reserved. I explained again that I had a reservation, yet was told there was no other option. The $200 minimum per person was reiterated, which I had already agreed to and fully expected. Only after asking to speak with a manager was I told we could be moved--though the staff member stated he "wasn't supposed to." Even then, we were placed at the very last corner of the beachfront seating. I chose not to escalate further in order to preserve what was meant to be a special Christmas Eve with my daughter. Still, the experience left me feeling uncomfortable, dismissed, and unwelcome. We were the only two Black patrons present at the time, and the treatment we received was noticeably different. This was not my first visit to Saint Martin, nor my first time at this establishment. Unfortunately, this experience overshadowed the day and left a lasting negative impression. I will be sharing this experience with friends and family who often speak highly of Saint Martin. Very disappointing. read more

Sat upstairs for dinner after they unsuccessfully tried to sit us right next to speaker downstairs. Menu is brutal. So incredibly overpriced and overhyped. Probably most overrated restaurant in the Caribbean! Did want the double smash burger (was in mood for burger), but they don't serve it after 5:00 PM! Margins not good enough on 31 euro burger to allow it to be ordered at night? What a joke. Food quality was decent I suppose for the most part, but nothing to write home about...and certainly not worth the ridiculous prices. This was a dream come true. We had front row beach chairs on a Saturday morning. Music started at 2 . Each resy comes with a towel and bottle of water. So we order some cocktails and food throughout the day. Louie was incredible - fast service and great recommendations. We ordered a Jade cocktail & banaanejo ( which both will live in my dreams). We made a beachfront chair reservation for Rainbow while on a cruise and had a great time. They took great care of us - from coffee beverages in the AM to plenty of lunch options and drinks - service was great. Prices were really high but you're paying for beachfront. The restaurant itself has a main level that got quite clubby by midday (there was a DJ) and a quieter upper level with a great view and fun shop. The music is much too loud if you want a leisurely lunch with some conversation, it's basically like eating in a night club at noon. Reservations, now that is another story....whether you made one or not, they will decide at the door if they are going to find your reservation.( Sometimes they find mine and other times they DON'T) Now they have a "RIP YOU OFF POLICY". 75 Euros for your beach chair rental and you must spend an additional 140 Euros per person on food and drinks on the beach. Restaurant tab is not part of the beach pricing. The restaurant service is THE WORST ON THE ENTIRE ISLAND. My husband and I have been regulars here for 25 years, this place has become crap with an attitude. So after they turned us away, our group went a few doors down to Le Temps Des Cerises. We received a very warm welcome, a beautiful table and the food and drinks were absolutely delicious and less expensive. Our service was perfect in every way, the music just the right volume to be upbeat and enjoyable enough to hear each other talk. Being Black While Traveling: I've been to Rainbow Café 4-5 times. The food is decent (7/10), but the service has always been mediocre. This last visit was offensive. I came with my boyfriend and his colleague from China--both do business here. We recommended Rainbow based on the food, but should've gone to Ocean 82 instead--the service and food there are exceptional. Our white waitress (no name given, but she has a tattoo on her elbow) asked if we "worked on one of the ships." Why would she assume that? Because we're Black? We own a boat in Guadeloupe and travel here monthly. The assumption was ignorant and racist. Maybe someone should let her know Black people have money too. She seemed very confused. If you're a person of color visiting St. Martin, avoid Rainbow Café. The food isn't worth the disrespect. Service: 0/10. read more

Had to visit the highly talked about rainbow cafe on the French side of the St. Martin island. The restaurant is so cute and cozy. Very well decorated and the water front just add to the ambiance. The restaurant sits right on top of the water, endless views of the mountains and the beautiful beach. For Brunch we ordered the avocado toast, which was my favorite. We also had brioche French toast which chocolate drizzle, nuts and bananas. Lastly, we ordered scrambled eggs which was just ok, it was a bit runny true French style; it's not like the traditional American style scramble eggs. The potatoes and mushrooms was a hit. We had a reservation and was seated right away, but the place was not busy when we went. The server was friendly and accommodating. Must try spot if your ever in St. Martin. read more

The ambiance is great. The food is actually quite bland. One great appetizer we had was a stuffed crab that had the consistency of a dry Thanksgiving dressing with an amazing lemony lobster cream sauce. The Half rotisserie chicken has less seasoning than Costcos, and the gravy reminds me of the bland flavors of Boston Market, if anyone remembers that place, kudos. The nigiri was fresh and acceptable, but you're better off finding a place that specializes in Japanese food to get a better experience. If you want to sit on the front row beach chairs you have to call in a reservation, if not the other rows are just as nice. Parking: street or valet. You give the guy whatever you like. Be fair. We've been coming to the island for 20 years and have never had an experience that rivals this (and not in a good way). I should have known when I had troubles making the reservation and then when I used their website to email them and never got a response. When we got there an irate family of four was walking away (unsure what that was about). They had weird "rules" like they don't open their beach bathroom until "people start drinking later" and if you rent beach chairs you cannot eat in the restaurant. You can only eat lunch in the lounge chairs. When I tried to give feedback about the process and experience they argued with me. We left after 20 minutes. That's not everything that happened, but suffice it to say this place was an expensive lesson. Giving it two stars because they give you a nice towel with your rental. We met another couple at a different beach that had a similar experience at Rainbow Cafe and left after a short time. I don't think we had an isolated experience. Would not recommend. read more

This place is AWESOME for a beach day! There are some mixed reviews here but I'm not sure what to make of some of them. I can't really pull any stars for this place. Firstly, the decor is absolutely remarkable. I want the number of whomever designed it. Across the entire top floor restaurant section are casual elements like hammocks and swings expertly incorporated into dining floor seating. Some of the tables were wodden cutaways with elements of nature like leaves and fur etc. displayed under glass (which is easy to sanitize). Add to that the view of the ocean and beach on a clear day and you can't help but be floored by it. While my jaw was on the ground the staff were really accommodating with the fact that we arrived pretty late for brunch. They obliged and got our orders in immediately. That was a great start. I observed the staff and I appreciated their speed and efficiency. I also noticed that they used Moët in their mimosas (I wondered why the price for mimosas was close to NY or FL prices). Brunch was great. I ordered L'Americaine (The American) which came with eggs, bacon, peanut butter etc. It was nice and hardy, just like an 'murican would like it. After brunch, our waiter was nice enough to tell the beach staff that we might be hanging out. We linked up with the beach staff and they were ready with seats right away. We had some drinks and ended up chilling on the beach for hours! I wish we had another day to hang out with them and funny enough we chartered a boat for a sunset cruise which stopped at the restaurant to pick up some tapas! I'll have to come back to update with the name of the charter (Don't quote me but I think the name was QC Charters SXM and it was LIT)! Bottom Line: You should stop by if you're on the french side of the Island. Don't be alarmed by valet service. They gentleman we encountered had me asking questions in my mind but he brought the car back in one piece, with no scuffs. read more

While flies are expected in the Caribbean, what I witnessed behind the bar was unacceptable... the bartender used a bottle of lime juice that had a dead fly floating in it to prepare drinks for customers. Took my family here for our one night in Grand Case, ordered at 7:04 and got our food at 8:06. many tables got their food before us who arrived much later than us, when we sat down there were about 3 other parties. sushi roll came out as a appetizer fast and was pretty good but when the main courses came out 45 minutes later they were all cold. no one came to ask how our food was until we asked for the check. our food was eaten because as you can imagine how hungry we were after that wait (my mother didn't even eat her food, she took it togo so she can heat it up in the microwave. for the price both the food and service should be much better. read more

Extremely RUDE staff! Café was open at 8am in the morning, we walked in and asked the staff if it was open. We've been told it was and to grab a table, which we did. As we were settling, the manager (dark haired lady with long pony tail, and tattoos on the arm) walked towards us with barely a "hello" telling us the first floor was closed and we could go to the second to sit at a table. Which we obliged. We went to the second floor. Said hello to the staff on the second floor and asked if we could settle at a front row table, and he confirmed we could sit anywhere. As we are settling in, the same manager walks on us again, telling us to move and take the table at the corner exposed to the sun. Facial expressing clearly meaning: "I don't want you here". When we objected and said, could we have a table in the shadow, she pointed all the way to the back of the venue when the whole place was just empty. What a shame of a behaviour. I'm not one to leave comments ever, but this one needed to be said!!! Rainbow cafe has the perfect ambience for an AMAZING beach day. My mom and I rented chairs and an umbrella then got some great cocktails from the restaurant. We later had an amazing French lunch that literally made us feel like we were back in France. We had the specials tagliolini truffle et langouste and red snapper filet with risotto and truffle. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! Any seafood plate here is highly recommended and should be paired with a nice wine. On top of the great food the service was also excellent. This map would have you believe it's near the airport. It's actually at the very end of the main street of Grand Case before it joins the road around the island. The food was really on another level. I had mahi mahi, which was good, but the bed of vegetables were the best part. Olives, sun dried tomatoes, grilled onions and nuts in what had to be three different kinds of oil. My partners' food was a very satisfying duck with above average mashed sweet potatoes. The views are nice since it's right on the beach. The waiters are just very slightly pushy without it being off putting. Beautiful interior that looks rich, yet simple at the same time. read more
