We had the lunch buffet which gave you a lot of options. I like that I could try a few bites of each thing and then go back for my favorite (the carne guisada, for sure). It seems like a power lunch place, but also a place for families to come for a quick meal. The decor is fantastically colorful.

Don't remember the name of the plate but the fish was delicious

I love it here, the ambiance is my kinda vibe & the Mexican food is always on point. The service is always on point as well with a server we've been visiting for years.. I believe his name is Juan. Super attentive & sweet! I'll definitely be back & recommend if you're downtown SA & are looking for authentic Mexican food.

We haven't been to this restaurant in a long time, decided to try it this morning, and it was amazing. The restaurant was super clean, the waitress was accommodating and the food was so good, and had large portions. Everything tasted very good including the sweet bread that I got on the way out. We'll be coming back

The food is always excellent. The service superb. The vibe is full of life. When we are in San Antonio we go here for the past 25 years.

Ok so it's been a minute since I've been here and sad to say it's gone down hill since then! The service (mid af) the food ‍ don't recommend! I recommend finding else where to eat the only decent thing was my Dr Pepper and that's a little questionable i ordered shrimp cocktail and it's like they used 3 jumbo shrimp chopped it up and threw it in a cup with cocktail sauce they're definitely using gulf shrimp for this! My friends food was cold as if had been sitting for a while!! Hope this place goes back to the way it was cause this ain't it the vibe well they had some one eating here that was constantly using a air horn in the building which u thought was weird but yeah it's a no

Finally got to try this place tonight! We tried to go a few weeks ago but apparently they close early on weekdays. Our server was wonderful! He was kind and very attentive. The food was decent, nothing wonderful, but also no complaints. My boyfriend and I shared the appetizer sampler as our meal and it was plenty of food for two. The only thing I would say is that the mariachis were way too loud. Don't get me wrong - I love mariachis! But the size of the restaurant and the volume of music was quite overwhelming. We couldn't have a decent conversation at the table because of it. Thankfully they took a break about mid-way during our meal. And lastly, on a positive note, the ambiance and decor is festive and fun! Like a mini Mi Tierra. I'm glad I finally gave it a try.

We were unable to get reservations on the River walk, we asked for suggestions at our hotel and this was one of three restaurants. It was the closest and didn't make us drive through the insane construction and traffic downtown. It turned out that all three of the recommended TexMex restaurants are run by the same family. I loved the food, but full disclosure, I started with a fantastic Margarita. That may shade my analysis. The warm chips and salsa were a fine start. I really liked the salsa, a bit of heat but a lot of flavor! We had sour cream chicken enchiladas for the main course. This of course came with refrieds and rice. Everything was very tasty. For dessert, we ordered sopapillas. We are used to these coming plain, served with honey. The ones delivered to our table were a work of art. They were sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and had whipped cream with strawberries between the sopapillas, and a container of honey in the middle. Options galore, and they were all good. I almost needed to be wheeled out I was so full. Hands down, this is a restaurant we would frequent if we lived in San Antonio.

I decided to stay in the city longer to check out this place. This restaurant is huge and the wait was 45 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. We used our waiting time to stroll through the Mercado across the way. Once the table was ready, my friend got a text. I always wanted to try menudo every Mexican restaurant I go to. But not until I saw the sign on the back cover. This restaurant is under the same owner as Pico de Gallo. Omg. I just had their menudo the day before. No thanks. I decided to order fajita chicken salad. The portion was really small. The food only filled a half of the fried salad bowl. I asked to put cheese on the side. It may had it look more but I don't eat cheese as much. I was glad that dressing was on the side. Which was too salty for me. So, if the food was the same as other chain, we could have eaten there which was closer to the hotel. But I noticed the difference was the servers. Our waitress was cuter and very polite. My friends kept teasing her. She kept good manner and responded back with a smile "uhhh no". Hahaha.

Our waiter checked on us a lot and was very knowledgeable about food allergies and substitutions. Our drinks and meal came out fairly quick. The guac and chips are yummy. It doesn't come with a side but it does have 3 very filling tacos. It was grilled halibut, pico, romaine lettuce, guacamole and Baja sauce. It was delicious and very flavorful. Cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and love the pickled onions and lime on the side. My husband ordered the old fashioned, which he liked. I got the mezcal spritz which was 10/10 (and huge). We couldn't decide on desserts and decided to split the cheesecake and churro waffle. They ran out of cheesecake so they gave us tres leches as a substitute--as a huge tres leches fan, this was even better. Both desserts were outstanding. 10/10 will be back if visiting San Antonio again Service was also exceptional--ask for Theresa!! Love the setting, definitely sit outside if you can! Sitting by the river is super scenic and romantic.

There's such a wonderful selection, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. As parents with notoriously picky eaters, we especially appreciate how accommodating the staff is - it's such a relief to know that our kids can also find something yummy with just a quick chat with the staff member. That really makes a difference for a family outing! And oh my goodness, the appetizers are simply fantastic. We couldn't get enough! I also have to give a special shout-out to the Carrajillo I ordered. It was such a delightful surprise - perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, with a lovely citrusy kick that made it incredibly refreshing. Definitely a new favorite drink! We're already looking forward to our next visit to explore more of amazing menu. Just a little heads-up for anyone else, we realized on our way out that there's an extra parking lot right across the street if the main one fills up. Super handy to know!

It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.
