Beowulf Johnson, my beautiful Pitbull, my most loyal, faithful and loving companion for the last 12 years, passed away suddenly, last Sunday, just before dawn. Compounded to the overwhelming grief came the need on a Sunday, when everything is closed, to decide where to take Beowulf's body. We wanted a private individual cremation. The place where we had other pets cremated burned down last year so we didn't know where to go. We had decided to travel the five hours to the other place's corporate office in Tampa when thankfully, my son all the way from Washington DC, found in the internet a place in Medley called Peaceful Paws Memorial Service, open 24/7. I called at 5:00 A.M. and Joe, the owner, very nice and polite said they would take care of Beowulf and all our needs. I was apprehensive of going to an unknown place because even in death I have always been very protective of my beloved Beowulf. But going to the Peaceful Paws Memorial place turned out to be the best decision we ever made. The owners, Joe and Julian, were waiting for us. They were super kind, compassionate, respectful and gently help me carry my heavy Beowulf indoors with all the care and dignity my Baby deserved. Joe even allowed me to view the facility and explained to me all the procedures to ensure all my expectations were met. And indeed, they were, more than what I expected. Beowulf had his private individual cremation that same day, without us having to wait weeks like with our previous pets. We were given time to say our final goodbyes; we were present when he was placed in the furnace; and we were there when his remains to include his titanium knee joint grafts were taken out. My wife and I were able to wait in this room that had a window to the furnace area where we could follow the whole procedure. We were treated with love, compassion and respect by Joe and Julian. Their service dog Angus, a beautiful 176 lbs. dog, was loving, friendly, and gave us so much comfort when we needed it. I wish I had a better command of the English language to express how kind, caring, humane, generous (they even provided refreshments) and gracious they were to us. Joe and Julian are truly committed to their work, not for profit, but for deep love, compassion, and respect to all animals. Believe me, this testimonial comes from someone who is not too people oriented - I rather be with my pets - but with Joe and Julian, I left their place with the feeling I had made two very good friends. Thanks to them, at the end of the day I was able to bring back home my beloved Beowulf inside a beautiful mahogany urn. I also received a nice condolences card with Beowulf's inked paw print, a beautiful clay paw print, a small keepsake mahogany box with some of Beowulf's ashes, a scroll with the beautiful Over the Rainbow poem, a personalized candle for Beowulf and the very important Certificate of Cremation. Having to deal with a loved fur baby's death is never easy and very painful. Peaceful Paws Memorial Service was AMAZING to work with and I highly recommend it to anyone going through this painful experience. When I called the day my mom's dog passed away Joe very patiently explained the process and prices and was able to give us an appt the very next day first thing in the morning, which was great because my mom did not want to wait too long. From the moment we got to their location the customer service was exceptional. Joe greeted us and was very nice and friendly. We didn't have to wait as they got to the paperwork right away and Julian took Fluffy ( fur baby) to get him ready. You can tell Joe does this out of love for animals, you can right away tell that this isn't about money as most places are, I think what makes this business great is that Joe understands the painful experience that it is to lose a loved one because he has been there before. So he knows exactly what a pet parent is going through at that moment, what we are thinking, feeling and expecting. He was very patient with us and gave us the time we needed to say our final goodbyes. He walked us through the process of everything that was happening and took the time to answer any questions we had. The whole cremation process takes about 5 hours, joe was kind enough to give us a call about an hour before Fluffy was ready to be taken out so my mom could witness it, since we don't live in the area. I thought that was very thoughtful and nice of them. When we got there, we witnessed them take Fluffy out and process his remains, and once again Joe walked us through every step of the process. We got his remains in a very nice wooden box urn, along with his cremation certificate and a rainbow poem with his paw print ( ink) which is all included in the price. PLUS as a gift they put some of his ashes in a little heart glass that can be used as a necklace. That was very sweet of them and my mom really loved it. In memory of our beloved Bones... Peaceful Paws made an impossible thing to have to do, to put down our beloved dog Bones, our fur baby a memorable , compasionate event. We chose to do at home Uthanasia for him because he was so scared at the vets clinic. He would litteraly tremble just walking in. A sad sight to see of a 100 lb american bull dog mix that would scare the pants off of everyone that came across him. Not cause he was aggressive but because he was massive and royal. His looks comanded respect not tomention his bark. Peaceful paws were on time and very communicative about their arrival. Did not rush us at all gave us as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes before and after. The vet Dr.Lugo was equally as compasionate and amazing. She talked to Bones as if she new him all his life. He was happy not scared and had no idea what was going on. He had all that loved him near him, petting him, huging him, kissing him as he crossed over. He didnt feel a thing and went so peacefully. Doing his farewell at home was hard. But I would not have it any other way. Our fur babies deserve a fairwell like the one Peaceful Paws offers. At home , in a warm familiar place surrounded by their loved ones vs a cold clamy vets table, litteraly scared to death. After all what else can I have done for him after 12 years of unconditional love and wonderful memories. They had his ashes ready in a few days. I was pleased when I went to pick him up he was in a beautiful black velvet bag, I received a candle with name on it a condolence card with his paw print, and a beautiful stainles steel charm with some of his ashes. I was not expecting any of these extras. It was very welcomed. Also Peacful Paws has the most reasonable prices for this service by far. I quoted 3! I had a sudden passing of my kitten. Having been my first, my boyfriend and I had no idea what to do next. We looked up some reputable places in the area and Peaceful Paws came up. Since it was a Sunday, we needed an appointment to be seen which was given to us at 9:30am, a time very close to when we called which was great. Getting to the area was a bit difficult, but I'm more familiar with the Hollywood area of SFL. Nonetheless, we arrived, we were greeted and went over what the process would be like. After we chose an urn and a paw print, we were given as much time as needed to say goodbye. Tissues were near by and the waiting area was cozy. A few days later we were called and what really made this very hard situation just a bit better was being told, "she's ready to come home." Not "come get her ashes" which again, being my first encounter with a pet passing away, I was scared of. We were treated wonderfully and I truly feel my kitten was treated respectfully. When we picked her up, we were given a candle, a card, her paw print, her urn and a little gift with some more of her ashes in it. Being of Hispanic culture, I very much appreciated the candle. Again, my boyfriend and I were treated great especially under the circumstances, my kitten was treated with respectful, and for price (hate to even need to mention this) everything was fair. Losing our Cookie Monster was one of the hardest moments in my husband and my life. He was our companion and comfort through so many difficult moments in life and now we had lost that much needed support in our cuddly little sweet four legged Angel on earth. I have to believe God watches over us and sends us grace in these unbelievably difficult moments. We found this grace at Peaceful Paws. Our best friend Zoe of 13 years passed away last Friday night. We knew she was sick and actually thought we were going to have to her put down at our vet the next day. Had that have happened we would have trusted our Dr. and his staff to make the arrangements. Zoe our 70 pound English Bull Terrier had other plans and passed on her own terms around Midnight. We reached out to Peaceful Paws around 12:30 and the phone was answered by Paul. He was very thoughtful and would have come right then but we decided to wait until morning. He arrived at 8:30 AM and very thoughtfully placed her in his back seat of his beautiful truck. It happens that Paul didn't live very far from our house so he was even thoughtful enough to return her to us on Wednesday. Peaceful Paws not only gave Zoe a private cremation but had her ashes in a beautiful wooden urn. Our paw printed bag also had a final paw ceramic imprint of our girl with her name and a stand, a little heart with ashes and a thoughtful card signed by the employees and our girls paw print. These guys came and picked up my American Bulldogs body after she left it. They were so respectful, knowing that I was seeing my Beatrice in the flesh for the last time. They stopped their work and allowed me to pull back the blanket each time I broke down, so that I could get another look, give another kiss, give one last hug. Twelve days later they called to say I could pick up her ashes but I really appreciated the email. It said her ashes were ready to be picked up, included their phone number, hours, address, and special instructions, all those things one forgets to write down as the chill of the phone call sets in. The email also states the date that the actual cremation occurred. For some reason knowing this was comforting. There were small upgrade costs, extras that they provide that I'm thrilled I got, but the overall cost remained low and would have been even less without the extras that they definitely put time and effort into. During the difficult moment of losing our precious Flaqui I felt overwhelmed. Really didn't know where to turn as I have never dealt with this situation before. Searching the internet a few places came up and I honestly read the reviews to know which direction to take. I wanted my dog to be treated with upmost respect. After reading over 50 reviews about Peaceful Paws I had no doubt. I contacted them around 9am and spoke to Joe. He was very compassionate from the very get go. By 10am I was leaving our princess there. It was extremely hard but Joe gave us some alone time to let us say our goodbyes. A few days later Joe contacted me by phone and email to let me know she was ready to be picked up. Once we arrived he handed to us a card with our pets paw imprint, a candle to be burned with her name, a ceramic little plate with a stand that had her paw and name imprinted and a tiny glass heart with some ashes inside. Words can not express the gratitude I have for Joe and his team at Peaceful Paws. During these difficult moments we are currently facing (COVID19 Shutdown) and the loss of our very own girl, we came upon our very own angel sent Joe. He went above and beyond to make sure she was very well taken care of during the shutdown, and communicated with me every few days to let me know how things were going. When I was finally able to pick her up I can't express how detailed and empathetically she was placed and packaged for taking her home. From the tiny details of the ribbons used to wrap her paperwork to the candle, prayer and her own paw engraving. I knew from the minute I left her with Joe she was in great hands but picking her up today I know not only was she in great hands but she was treated with the upmost care and love. Peaceful Paws took care of the cremation of the longest companion that I had with me. Pepper, a 22-year old young black and white tuxedo cat. We called her Pepperino, the Italian kitty from Italy. It took me a few weeks to write a review because when I received the ashes of Pepper it brought back memories of loss. Over two decades old (young) this cat was not only my longest companion in life that lived with me but Pepper belonged to my daughter who passed away. Everything Peaceful Paws provided was a beautiful tribute. From the sachet Pepper's ashes were placed in, to the thoughtful card and note and personalized candle. I called to schedule my dog's passing. She was very old and her quality of life was diminishing rather rapidly. Probably the hardest thing I've ever done. They helped me through the process and were very patient, even at times where I couldn't speak over all the sobbing and crying. They came to my home on time and allowed me as much time as I wished with my little Chispita to say one final goodbye. She was put in a very comfy looking bed once she passed and she was treated with the utmost respect. I lost my baby that day but I don't think I would've done it with anybody else. The ashes took a couple of weeks (Private Cremation) but they delivered when they said they would. I really appreciate the help during such a difficult time and I have peace of mind knowing she had a peaceful transition. My Bracco had a beautiful life and made my life beautiful during the 15 years, 3 months and 20 days he graced this Earth. I was devastated when he departed and dreaded going thought the final resting process. I spoke with a couple of places before calling Peaceful Paws, and from the very beginning Joe caringly and patiently explained the process and options available. We scheduled a date but I wanted my baby to stay with me as long as possible so kept on pushing back, and every time I called to change the date I felt Joe 's warm support and understanding. My daughter lost her best friend Q-T Pie today, and I wanted to have her cremated for her to take back college with her. I had no idea of what to expect as this was our family's first experience losing a pet. I must say we could not have been more pleased with Peaceful Paws. The place was cozy, clean, and inviting. My daughter never experienced the loss of a pet before. My brother referred me to Peaceful Paws memorial service, because he had a blessing experience with them. I'm extremely grateful with the service we received. Not once did I ever feel this whole experience was about money. As busy as Joe is (and that is actually a good sign) not once did he make me feel as if this was about money. I felt he truly cares about our pets.
