They wasted so much time and never helped me at all. Strung me along saying they'd do a virtual appointment since we do not live nearby. They had some sales person claiming they'd be happy to do online appointments. Later you find out that's not true at all. This is purely just a review of the doctor. The building was lovely and clean. Front of house staff were friendly and personable. Microneedling specialist was beyond friendly, helpful and personable. But the doctor I saw.... I made an appt because I'm feeling insecure about a few things about my physical appearance. I'm a woman in my early 30s and aging, it sucks. I haven't been to a dermatologist in years and I hate that this was my first experience. I felt rushed and almost dismissed. I was hoping for topical solutions to my dry skin and it was met with a dead response. The things I was diagnosed with at the office, the doctor kept making comments about how he would see if there were cheaper options for prescriptions (when 1 I didn't even know the original price and 2 I don't care what the price is if they work) made me feel like he was insinuating I can't afford things, that was awkward.... And then he randomly asked me if I was a body builder, which I'm not and I'm pretty insecure about weight I've put on. TL:DR I made an appt to empower myself to tackle some insecurities and left there and cried because it made me feel like I look like a hulky, old and financially struggling person. I've been coming to this practice for my dermatological and aesthetic needs for six years. In the past four months, I have scheduled four procedures with the front desk receptionist, and each time I arrive for the procedure they were unable to do it for numerous reasons. When I discussed this with the Office Manager, she was not empathetic and told me that she received complaints about me!! My mistake for giving them 4 chances to complete this procedure. I was a patient at RDC for several years, but lately all they seem interested in is getting your money. After I had a procedure and paid $1200 and left the office, they went it and took $2400 dollars in advance of other procedures I was planning on having. They took the money without my knowledge or consent, and when I discovered the money missing from my bank account refused to refund the full amount stating that they would have to charge me $1800 for the first procedure if they had to give the money back. I loved this practice before. 4 year ago I did a red spot laser removal and a month ago I came to receive the sample treatment. But unfortunately the esthetician/dermatologist that had done this procedure no longer works for this practice. So, new esthetician/dermatologist said she can't do the same procedure. After a two weeks I received a bill $264.48 for explaining to me that she can do the treatment. I never asked for consultation but apparently I received one (her saying she can't do what I was looking for and what was successfully done before) without my knowledge and the cost of it $264.48. Office location: Awesome! In Reston Town Center's hospital. There is valet sometimes but there is no convenient covered parking garage, on a daily basis there is a large crowded private parking lot. Because this is in a hospital be prepared for institutional hallways, sick people in the elevators with you, etc. Not the prettiest! Ambiance: I know this is a doctor. But I'm all about ambiance of my dermatologist, dentist, physician, etc. As soon as you open the door (first doctor's office on your right after the glass walkway) you're immediately aware you're in a different space. Comfy chairs, dim lights, painted walls, TV, complimentary cookies and beverages. This doctor did a great job at setting expectations. Staff: The woman that work the front desk and as the nurses have been great so far! While one particular woman behind the desk is a little louder with your personal information as you check out than I'd like she was not enough to deter me from returning. Everyone greeted me with a smile as I was walked back to my room for a consultation! You can hear the women discussing patients (professionally relaying info to the doc for example) outside the closed consultation doors, I know they can't change the construction of the building but I do wish I didn't hear some other patients details. I wondered if they could hear me speak?? Wait time: I found Dr. Amiry through ZocDoc an app like Yelp for the medical community. I filled out a lot of information before I showed up with ZocDoc and luckily they did not ask me to refill any paperwork. Just 1 or 2 pages. I was taken back 5 minutes after I arrived. Dr. Amiry: Bed side manner is the best! I met with him to discuss skin issues (duh) he listened intently, asked meaningful questions and made me feel very comfortable. I was prescribed 3 different medications. The best part about the experience with Dr. Amiry was his patience when I returned a week later bc I felt unsatisfied. My second visit I came much more prepared and said I wanted to attempt a holistic approach Vs topical treatments for adult acne. He was so onboard! I was given a list of vitamins and probiotics to take daily. I was recommend several books and nutritionists etc. I was really excited to be taken seriously and given genuine time from the Doctor despite my reluctance to jump straight to traditional prescription medications for treating any issues. Dermasweep: As someone who gets a facial on a monthly basis I was excited to try something different. A quick search on Instagram of a Dermasweep hashtag will reveal what this process promises to deliver. I have gone to Andrea to get Dermasweep done and it's very relaxing. They take you to a separate waiting room for cosmetic procedures. This waiting room is smaller and filled with samples of a few products! Andrea's room is large and dark. It was just like going to a spa except I didn't have a locker room to change into a plush robe. Andre is professional and informative. Policies: I did purchase two products from the office that I ultimately did not like. They just made my face way too dry and in hindsight were probably too strong for what I needed. The doctors office accepts returns but will only offer a credit to use. You can use the credit on any product or service! I highly recommend you check out this dermatologist! read more

I am VERY happy with Reston Dermatology. The people that have complained must have been having their own personal "off day" because I had nothing but politeness and smiles when I went in. Not ONCE did any one in the office push me to do a certain procedure, offer me Botox, fillers, or other cosmetic procedures. They listened to me and my concerns, provided several alternative solutions and, it was my choice. Again, I was wary of this establishment but, I promise you - no one pushed me in any which direction. I was very concerned about a spot on my nose that just was not going away. Of course, I was freaking out in thinking it might be skin cancer but, Dr. Amiry was fantastic. He has a calm and quiet demeanour which, I think is welcoming compared to a boisterous and overly eager dermatologist. (Would you want some like the later poking at your face? I doubt it!) He politely informed me that it was just broken blood vessels due to my rosacea and it can be very easily managed with a procedure or two with the laser. There was a young woman with him in the room, who also did my laser treatments (I feel awful that her name skips my brain), she is a DOLL. She walked me through the laser procedure for my rosacea and the spot on my nose. She did inform me of the side effects and she described the pain. She said it may take a few visits, which hey - it happens. For me, the RESULTS ARE MAGNIFICENT. The spot is gone and my other issues were carefully resolved. I still am keeping my second appointment to take care of the remaining redness. I will come back here and I will tell other people to come here!! read more

We were able to get appointments within a reasonable amount of time, we were seen promptly and the staff was very kind. My technician, Andrea, is soothing, friendly and efficient! I noticed a change in my underarms after just one session. Bikini line takes a little longer, but after two sessions I noticed it was growing back slower. The underarms alone have my hooked though! I'm now trying to decide which area to do next! I began coming here because I purchased a Groupon for Laser Hair Removal, but I am a big fan of this place. The staff are very friendly and really work with you to book you at the time you want. Tracy is great. She is very quick but thorough. My pain tolerance isn't super high, but she is very calming and reassuring. She sometimes chats with me during the process to take my mind off of it. This place offers a wide range of services outside of hair removal, so I may investigate those as well. However, if you are looking for a reputable place that really cares about giving you good results with hair removal, this is a great place to try. They are also really thorough about do's and don'ts before and after the procedure. It seems like they are completely professional and really want to make the customer happy. They also don't pressure you to try other procedures, but when I asked about them, they were very helpful with information. If you are thinking about hair removal, give this place a try! read more

I contacted this office based on other positive yelp reviews. I called in the late afternoon and was able to get an appointment for the following morning. I was able to fill out new patient paperwork 100% online (in advance) and was seen promptly at my appointment time. The Dr., nurse, and staff were professional, polite, and friendly. His diagnosis seemed sound. He prescribed a very expensive antibiotic pill and anti-fungal cream. Fortunately, the pharmacy they work with (Herndon Pharmacy And Medical Supply) have "coupons" that took the out-of-pocket cost down from more than $500 to $50. (That arrangement of dr + pharmacy + coupon seems a little scammy, but I can't complain about the price.) I do wonder if a generic antibiotic and generic anti-fungal cream would have been just as effective. Overall, the experience was very positive. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Amiri off and on for the last six years for various things including skin allergies and removal of dark / sun spots. I appreciate that the staff turnover has been very low. I can have years in between visits, and still know the people there. That is a nice feeling because they have a history of your treatments, etc. I've been very successful with the dark spot removal and they've even offered me some FREE laser treatments while trying to find the most effective one. You can't beat that!! I can always get in around my lunch hour, and there is hardly ever a wait. I had an great experience with Dr. Amiry and the staff overall. The office is conveniently located and the staff is all very very friendly. I never waited more than 5 minutes to be seen. I've been to dermatologists that are just looking to sell you lotions and potions and unnecessary procedures, Dr. Amiry is not like that at all. He really stands behind his work. I originally went in because I was unhappy with my complexion (acne & redness). Dr. Amiry really took the time to go over my concerns and was very understanding and informative. He gave me two prescriptions that have really made a difference for me. Couldn't be happier with the results. While I was there I also mentioned that I was unhappy with a scar that was on my forehead. It wasn't a substantial scar but it was raised and it was a little annoying. Dr. Amiry suggested a laser treatment that I agreed to try. After the first treatment the results were an improvement but the site was very red and noticeable, Dr. Amiry agreed with me right off the bat and offered me two different laser treatments FREE of charge to correct the unforeseen redness. I am really impressed with his dedication for great results. I was not expecting a free treatment at all let alone two, I could just tell that he really wanted the best results. I just went back for my follow up and the difference in my scar is night and day and it is still improving!! My only complaints is sometimes it's hard to find parking in their lot and the elevator is slow, which is obviously beyond their control since they are located in a medical center. However after they put me on the creams my acne got a lot worst. Like it has not been this bad in years. I love this place! The entire staff is very kind and helpful! I have been here for both my general skincare needs such as acne treatment and also specialist needs such as laser scar treatment and also botox. Reston Dermatology provided prescription medication as well as over the counter medicine/facial cleanser recommendations based on my skincare/acne needs and I had fantastic results! I never had acne until my mid-twenties and couldn't get it under control by myself. I wish I visited Reston Derm for this sooner. Additionally, I had botox injects in my chin performed by Reston Derm. I decided to try this out as I am someone who naturally has a "wrinkly chin" or overactive chin muscles, and this was something I was really insecure about. The specialists at Reston Derm were very kind and did an excellent job. I only did this procedure a few times but would still recommend the treatment to anyone else as its very affordable and has great results. The pricing here is pretty standard approx. $10/$12 per unit of either botox or similar products. Lastly, I also had laser scar treatment performed here with beautiful results. After undergoing a botched mole removal procedure at Dr. Mountcastle's office in Ashburn (avoid at all costs) I came to Reston Derm for help with the horrible scar I was left with and now the scar is almost invisible. The worst receptionist I have ever seen!!! They charged me and my wife for not to show up fee ~ $300. Which is not true, My wife showed up but she decided not to go with them due to their bad behavior. When My wife showed up she was trying to talk to the receptionist and the receptionist was not even looking at her.My wife feels offended and left the room. They even didn't call her back. After 3 days they send the $300 bill for noting. This is an insane!!! Being a patient we deserve good behavior and who is going to pay for their bad behavior.
