Thank you, Sam sooo very much for accommodating me with a same-day appointment on 6/11!  I greatly appreciate your attentive response to my concerns.  Before I phoned you, several dermatologist offices could only see me the following week. Arnela's prompt attention to immediate evaluation and treatment for two urgent skin issues: a sudden rash after yard work and a suspicious mole helped prevent worsening symptoms and enabled a faster diagnosis.  Arnela was also able to do an overdue 3-year head-to-toe skin check and a biopsy all in the same visit!  The overwhelmingly relief of my immediate concerns made a significant difference in my peace of mind, and I truly appreciate her, Sam, and the office staff for their exceptional care and attention to me without a long wait or an unnecessary trip to the emergency room.     Most appreciative, LC B read more

NOT a trustworthy business!! back in March I started a medical weight loss program with the office representative Irina believig that the treatment that they will provide is totally legitimate and FDA approved. that was a BIG MISTAKE! I was getting prefilled syringes with some pink liquid with no vials from verified pharmacy- no content or lot number! after gaining 6Lb in 2 weeks I have reached out to Irina and even she agreed that it was strange! they continued supplying me with the higher doses and after not seeing the results I have questioned the medication and found out that it was NOT an FDA approved GLP but rather a compoud that I could have gotten online for a 5 times less amount $$$, also I was made to pay$3500 upfront which I am fighting now to get a refund! i will continue posting my journey so stay tuned! p.S do not go to this office for a weight loss - but if you do g do your homework in advance so that you don't repeat my mistake!! read more

I went to see a doctor here for a rash that eventually spread from my ankles to my knees. The first time I went he told me it was bacterial and treated it with antibiotics. That didn't help and the rash kept spreading up my calf. On my second appointment I told the doctor I had been using anti fungal cream and it was helping a little. He said it probably was fungal and I needed an oral anti fungal. I needed to get my liver enzymes checked. He wanted to prescribe terbinafine and literally told me "it could melt my liver". Okay, so I got the blood work done and went back a third time. By this time the rash was completely covering my calves and the itch and pain were maddening. He wrote me a script for terbinafine for 14 days and told me to stop taking my crestor while taking it, even though my liver enzymes were all completely normal, even on the low end. Fine, I figured it wouldn't hurt much to stop the creator for a couple of weeks. He also specifically said I might need a second round of medication to make sure we got all of the fungal rash cleared up. The medication worked great. I went for a follow up appointment and the rash seemed to be gone. However, 4 days later it started to come back. I had some terbinafine left over, even though I had taken it for 14 days as prescribed. I don't know if the pharmacy messed up, or if the doctor wrote it that way in case I needed a few more days of medication. The rash immediately started to subside. I called the doctor to remind them that he said I might need a second round of medication, and I only had a few tablets left. After calling them 3 times over the course of a week they finally got back to me and said I needed to schedule an appointment. I asked, very nicely, if the doctor would just write a refill since he had already told me I might need a second round of medication. Another three days went by until I finally heard back again. This time they left me a voicemail saying, very tersely, that I would have to go see my GP of I wanted more of the anti fungal. They didn't even offer an appointment again, which I would have accepted. I was just asking if they would refill the meds without an appointment, not demanding it. It seemed like the front desk never actually talked to my doctor, because as I kept telling them, he knew the rash was severe enough that I might need a second round of medication. Also, by this time I had done my research, and it turns out terbinafine is not actually dangerous to ones liver unless one already has liver disease. This was shown by multiple independent control studies. Every website also said there are no interactions between terbinafine and crestor unless the patient has liver disease, and again, my liver enzymes were perfect. So now, the rash is coming back full force because it took them so long to respond, and I took over two weeks off of my crestor for no reason, and they didn't even finish treating me. My advice is to look elsewhere. If things go smoothly this place is probably great. But as soon as there was one hitch, which wasn't even a hitch because it was expected by the doctor, they left me completely hanging. So now I have to hope my GP knows enough about fungal rashes and medication, and that I can get an appointment soon this close to the holidays, and in the meantime the rash is back and creating farther up my leg, driving me mad with itch and pain when my pants touch it. read more

The practice didn't tell me insurance wouldn't cover an annual skin check until after I arrived for my appointment instead of alerting me prior to the appointment. I also asked to look at a cyst and they said I would have to get stitches, which another derm professional later said wasn't the case at all. I declined both procedures within a couple minutes of arriving, wasnt' looked at, and was still charged for both anyway. When I called to question this, they said that insurance is confusing. read more

Zero sympathy, we arrived six minutes late and my daughter has a really bad skin rash where we fought for this appointment. We arrived at 11:36 and our time was 11:30. When we got there the front desk lady told us we missed grace period (five minutes) and that the dermatologist was going leaving at 11:55. All we needed was five minutes of her time, that's it. No compassion for the injured child who is in serious pain. Don't come, instead there's a dermatologist in the same building fourth floor. Go there instead. Keep in mind, NO ONE was in the waiting room about to be seen. It was empty, she could've taken us. Apparently they do this "5 minute grace period" so they can have you pay the cancel fee of $75. I also was reading other reviews on this place and it said that the doctor kept giving her false information with her skin problem, made her go five times!! None of the prescriptions even worked. They are just thirsty for money. read more

They wasted so much time and never helped me at all. Strung me along saying they'd do a virtual appointment since we do not live nearby. They had some sales person claiming they'd be happy to do online appointments. Later you find out that's not true at all. I called the office to say how useless their sales person was and they hung up on me. I'm actually grateful it didn't work out. Also the people posted on their site didn't seem to be doctors. They may have doctors there but just check if that's who you want to see. read more

This is purely just a review of the doctor. The building was lovely and clean. Front of house staff were friendly and personable. Microneedling specialist was beyond friendly, helpful and personable. But the doctor I saw.... I made an appt because I'm feeling insecure about a few things about my physical appearance. I'm a woman in my early 30s and aging, it sucks. I haven't been to a dermatologist in years and I hate that this was my first experience. I felt rushed and almost dismissed. I was hoping for topical solutions to my dry skin and it was met with a dead response. The things I was diagnosed with at the office, the doctor kept making comments about how he would see if there were cheaper options for prescriptions (when 1 I didn't even know the original price and 2 I don't care what the price is if they work) made me feel like he was insinuating I can't afford things, that was awkward.... And then he randomly asked me if I was a body builder, which I'm not and I'm pretty insecure about weight I've put on. TL:DR I made an appt to empower myself to tackle some insecurities and left there and cried because it made me feel like I look like a hulky, old and financially struggling person. I absolutely do not recommend this place and it sucks I've never had a negative experience like this at a doctors office before, bummer. read more

I've been coming to this practice for my dermatological and aesthetic needs for six years. In the past four months, I have scheduled four procedures with the front desk receptionist, and each time I arrive for the procedure they were unable to do it for numerous reasons. When I discussed this with the Office Manager, she was not empathetic and told me that she received complaints about me!! My mistake for giving them 4 chances to complete this procedure. I've been going there for a long time, they have been good to me in the past with the previous staff. There are too many providers in the area that will be happy to take my business. read more

Reston Dermatology's inviting modern facility is very welcoming. The staff is very kind and helpful. I've never had to wait more than 5 min. before seeing Dr. Amiry or Shaianne. I'm in my 40s and the hollowness under-eye area made me look older than I actually was. So two years ago during the pandemic, I decided to see Dr. Amiry and try eye fillers as it was the only part of my face you could see when I wore my face mask. I saw fantastic results within minutes. My eyes looked plumped, but not puffy. I still have hereditary dark circles, but think the filler helped minimize the appearance of the extra shadowing that was caused by the hollowness. My critical mother even commented on how well-rested I looked. Shianne is wonderful. She is very patient and kind. I got laser hair removal and IPL treatments. I got laser hair removal for my underarms, bikini, and upper lip. I went for 6 treatments and noticed an improvement after the second treatment. My hair was thinner and not as dark. I thought it was going to be very painful, but it actually felt like being smacked with a rubber band. It is so nice when you can put your bathing suit on and not worry about shaving. The IPL treatment did wonders to my face. The dark spots on my face as well as the sunken under my eyes, made me look much older than I actually was. After both treatments, I ended up looking younger. I remember a framed quote in the office which stated something about how any dermatologists can inject fillers, however, the real difference in the results is seen when the procedure is performed by the right doctor. I made that right choice with Dr. Amiry and Shianne. Thank you Reston Dermatology! read more

STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS DERMATOLOGIST!!! I'm SUPER disappointed and sad as I used to go to the office years ago and when we moved back into the area I was happy that I knew of a good dermatologist! WOW HAVE THINGS CHANGED! Not only were these people COLD, RUDE AND UNCARING, but also ONLY cared about getting your money! They quoted you for one amount only to turn around and want to charge you more. Also if you don't want to take their pictures of before and after then they make you sign saying that they are not held responsible of something goes wrong. LIKE WHAT!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!! read more

I was a patient at RDC for several years, but lately all they seem interested in is getting your money. After I had a procedure and paid $1200 and left the office, they went it and took $2400 dollars in advance of other procedures I was planning on having. They took the money without my knowledge or consent, and when I discovered the money missing from my bank account refused to refund the full amount stating that they would have to charge me $1800 for the first procedure if they had to give the money back. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I loved this practice before. 4 year ago I did a red spot laser removal and a month ago I came to receive the sample treatment. But unfortunately the esthetician/dermatologist that had done this procedure no longer works for this practice. So, new esthetician/dermatologist said she can't do the same procedure. After a two weeks I received a bill $264.48 for explaining to me that she can do the treatment. I never asked for consultation but apparently I received one (her saying she can't do what I was looking for and what was successfully done before) without my knowledge and the cost of it $264.48. I do not recommend this practice. It chanted for much worse. read more

Office location: Awesome! In Reston Town Center's hospital. There is valet sometimes but there is no convenient covered parking garage, on a daily basis there is a large crowded private parking lot. Because this is in a hospital be prepared for institutional hallways, sick people in the elevators with you, etc. Not the prettiest! Ambiance: I know this is a doctor. But I'm all about ambiance of my dermatologist, dentist, physician, etc. As soon as you open the door (first doctor's office on your right after the glass walkway) you're immediately aware you're in a different space. Comfy chairs, dim lights, painted walls, TV, complimentary cookies and beverages. This doctor did a great job at setting expectations. Staff: The woman that work the front desk and as the nurses have been great so far! While one particular woman behind the desk is a little louder with your personal information as you check out than I'd like she was not enough to deter me from returning. Everyone greeted me with a smile as I was walked back to my room for a consultation! You can hear the women discussing patients (professionally relaying info to the doc for example) outside the closed consultation doors, I know they can't change the construction of the building but I do wish I didn't hear some other patients details. I wondered if they could hear me speak?? Wait time: I found Dr. Amiry through ZocDoc an app like Yelp for the medical community. I filled out a lot of information before I showed up with ZocDoc and luckily they did not ask me to refill any paperwork. Just 1 or 2 pages. I was taken back 5 minutes after I arrived. Dr. Amiry: Bed side manner is the best! I met with him to discuss skin issues (duh) he listened intently, asked meaningful questions and made me feel very comfortable. I was prescribed 3 different medications. The best part about the experience with Dr. Amiry was his patience when I returned a week later bc I felt unsatisfied. My second visit I came much more prepared and said I wanted to attempt a holistic approach Vs topical treatments for adult acne. He was so onboard! I was given a list of vitamins and probiotics to take daily. I was recommend several books and nutritionists etc. I was really excited to be taken seriously and given genuine time from the Doctor despite my reluctance to jump straight to traditional prescription medications for treating any issues. Dermasweep: As someone who gets a facial on a monthly basis I was excited to try something different. A quick search on Instagram of a Dermasweep hashtag will reveal what this process promises to deliver. I have gone to Andrea to get Dermasweep done and it's very relaxing. They take you to a separate waiting room for cosmetic procedures. This waiting room is smaller and filled with samples of a few products! Andrea's room is large and dark. It was just like going to a spa except I didn't have a locker room to change into a plush robe. Andre is professional and informative. Policies: I did purchase two products from the office that I ultimately did not like. They just made my face way too dry and in hindsight were probably too strong for what I needed. The doctors office accepts returns but will only offer a credit to use. You can use the credit on any product or service! I highly recommend you check out this dermatologist! read more

I am VERY happy with Reston Dermatology. The people that have complained must have been having their own personal "off day" because I had nothing but politeness and smiles when I went in. Not ONCE did any one in the office push me to do a certain procedure, offer me Botox, fillers, or other cosmetic procedures. They listened to me and my concerns, provided several alternative solutions and, it was my choice. Again, I was wary of this establishment but, I promise you - no one pushed me in any which direction. I was very concerned about a spot on my nose that just was not going away. Of course, I was freaking out in thinking it might be skin cancer but, Dr. Amiry was fantastic. He has a calm and quiet demeanour which, I think is welcoming compared to a boisterous and overly eager dermatologist. (Would you want some like the later poking at your face? I doubt it!) He politely informed me that it was just broken blood vessels due to my rosacea and it can be very easily managed with a procedure or two with the laser. There was a young woman with him in the room, who also did my laser treatments (I feel awful that her name skips my brain), she is a DOLL. She walked me through the laser procedure for my rosacea and the spot on my nose. She did inform me of the side effects and she described the pain. She said it may take a few visits, which hey - it happens. For me, the RESULTS ARE MAGNIFICENT. The spot is gone and my other issues were carefully resolved. I still am keeping my second appointment to take care of the remaining redness. I will come back here and I will tell other people to come here!! read more

I have been coming here for years. Dr. Amiry is very good (obviously or else I wouldn't be a repeat client right?). What's just as important as the doctor are his team. What a fantastic bunch. I'm kind of biased when it comes to Sara. She is professional, patient and legitimately cares. Dr. Amiry was recommended to me by my primary care doctor. Both my husband and I scheduled appointments to have moles checked and both had a great experience. We were able to get appointments within a reasonable amount of time, we were seen promptly and the staff was very kind. Courteous, respectful and responsible in tailoring the perfect treatments to meet your goals. The staff are caring and friendly, whether in person or on the phone. But the real jewel is the relaxed atmosphere, appreciation of natural beauty, and spa/cosmetic enhancements to subtily improve upon nature:-) I adore Dr Amiri. He does charity work, has a beautiful outlook, and fills the room with positivity as he advises each customer about a reasonable, responsible treatment plan. I began coming here because I purchased a Groupon for Laser Hair Removal, but I am a big fan of this place. The staff are very friendly and really work with you to book you at the time you want. Tracy is great. She is very quick but thorough. My pain tolerance isn't super high, but she is very calming and reassuring. She sometimes chats with me during the process to take my mind off of it. This place offers a wide range of services outside of hair removal, so I may investigate those as well. However, if you are looking for a reputable place that really cares about giving you good results with hair removal, this is a great place to try. They are also really thorough about do's and don'ts before and after the procedure. It seems like they are completely professional and really want to make the customer happy. They also don't pressure you to try other procedures, but when I asked about them, they were very helpful with information. If you are thinking about hair removal, give this place a try! read more

This review is for laser hair removal. They offer monthly specials so that is what got me to set up an appointment (after months of contemplating!) I contacted this office based on other positive yelp reviews. I called in the late afternoon and was able to get an appointment for the following morning. I was able to fill out new patient paperwork 100% online (in advance) and was seen promptly at my appointment time. The Dr., nurse, and staff were professional, polite, and friendly. His diagnosis seemed sound. He prescribed a very expensive antibiotic pill and anti-fungal cream. Fortunately, the pharmacy they work with (Herndon Pharmacy And Medical Supply) have "coupons" that took the out-of-pocket cost down from more than $500 to $50. (That arrangement of dr + pharmacy + coupon seems a little scammy, but I can't complain about the price.) I do wonder if a generic antibiotic and generic anti-fungal cream would have been just as effective. Overall, the experience was very positive. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Amiri off and on for the last six years for various things including skin allergies and removal of dark / sun spots. I appreciate that the staff turnover has been very low. I can have years in between visits, and still know the people there. I highly recommend them....oh and by the way, you get free fresh baked cookies while you wait ;-). read more

I had an great experience with Dr. Amiry and the staff overall. The office is conveniently located and the staff is all very very friendly. I never waited more than 5 minutes to be seen. (These were all weekday appointments around lunch time). Can't say enough about how nice everyone is and you get a free cookie! I cannot express what a breath of fresh air this Doctor is. I've been to dermatologists that are just looking to sell you lotions and potions and unnecessary procedures, Dr. Amiry is not like that at all. He really stands behind his work. I originally went in because I was unhappy with my complexion (acne & redness). Dr. Amiry really took the time to go over my concerns and was very understanding and informative. He gave me two prescriptions that have really made a difference for me. Couldn't be happier with the results. While I was there I also mentioned that I was unhappy with a scar that was on my forehead. It wasn't a substantial scar but it was raised and it was a little annoying. Dr. Amiry suggested a laser treatment that I agreed to try. After the first treatment the results were an improvement but the site was very red and noticeable, Dr. Amiry agreed with me right off the bat and offered me two different laser treatments FREE of charge to correct the unforeseen redness. I am really impressed with his dedication for great results. I was not expecting a free treatment at all let alone two, I could just tell that he really wanted the best results. I just went back for my follow up and the difference in my scar is night and day and it is still improving!! My only complaints is sometimes it's hard to find parking in their lot and the elevator is slow, which is obviously beyond their control since they are located in a medical center. Bottom line: I highly recommend making an appointment with Dr. Amiry. My coworker recommended him to me and I thank her all the time for doing so. read more

I love this place! The entire staff is very kind and helpful! I have been here for both my general skincare needs such as acne treatment and also specialist needs such as laser scar treatment and also botox. Reston Dermatology provided prescription medication as well as over the counter medicine/facial cleanser recommendations based on my skincare/acne needs and I had fantastic results! I never had acne until my mid-twenties and couldn't get it under control by myself. I wish I visited Reston Derm for this sooner. Additionally, I had botox injects in my chin performed by Reston Derm. I decided to try this out as I am someone who naturally has a "wrinkly chin" or overactive chin muscles, and this was something I was really insecure about. The specialists at Reston Derm were very kind and did an excellent job. I only did this procedure a few times but would still recommend the treatment to anyone else as its very affordable and has great results. The pricing here is pretty standard approx. $10/$12 per unit of either botox or similar products. Lastly, I also had laser scar treatment performed here with beautiful results.
