The cost is $7 each way. Drop off in front. However plan ahead like for any trip, get here at least 2 hours early in case of traffic. And don't be a seat hog. Put your luggage in the luggage compartments. Your luggage shouldn't be rolling down the aisles, hitting my feet.

The two metro stops are transfer points to other lines. Note that the pick up and drop off locations at L'Enfant are different. Depending on traffic, the trip can be from 30-60 minutes. Other than not having many stops, this bus is able to take Dulles Toll Road in the express lane. While this is an express bus to Dulles, it is essentially a commuter bus. This, there really isn't a place to put your luggage like the airport buses. If you intend to take the bus to catch a flight, plan accordingly. If major accidents/inclement weather occurs or its rush hour, the arrival time of the bus may vary. If there are people waiting, then the bus operators do their best to fit everyone on board. However, this can lead to people standing for the commute until the last stop. If you are pretty short and the bus is packed, aim to stand near the doors where the poles are or hold on to the headrests of the seats. Otherwise it's painful to hold on to the overhead bars for so long. The fare is $7.50 via SmartTrip card (can be bought at any metro station) or exact change. There is no metro operated vehicle parking at the two metro stations. The parking at Herndon-Monroe is currently free, but I imagine that will change once the silver line station there opens up. Then it will be $4.95. Dulles Airport has its own paid parking. Note that WMATA is considering ending Bus 5a when the silver line metro station at Dulles Airport opens. This is still a proposal and not yet decided upon as of February 2020.

I am not sure if there is a single Yelp entry for the system, Capital Bikeshare. I write to explain…read moremy experience. It is positive to date. I recommend this. The background. I am in my late 50s. I do not live in Washington, D.C. My elderly father does though. So I am in and out all the time, checking up on him (he still lives on his own). I am experienced riding a bicycle in the city. I have owned an e bike (it stopped working, the Van Moof; I loved it when it ran, but build quality was an issue). I also rented regularly in San Francisco when I lived there, and do so intermittently in New York City where I reside now. I have had good experiences and bad, including an issue where part of a bike belonging to the defunct Uber system fell out in an intersection, and the customer service agent told me I was lucky I didn't die and offered me a $2 refund, which I thought was rather rude, prompting me to interact with the General Counsel's office to no avail -- moral of the story is you won't get much by complaining, even if you are in the right and quite polite. All told, I am confident I have taken at least three dozen rides, maybe four dozen rides, with at least three other companies, in two major metropolitan areas besides DC. I also support mass transit and alternative transit. I regularly ride the bus, and I am irked by people who assume I would not do that, because they are projecting their sense of privilege (it is apparent from their disdain they would not ride the bus) on me. I also run commute as much as I can, and I previously did that on a regular basis (three days a week, 4.5 miles, just one way; then MUNI back). That is not to brag about virtue. Don't trust anybody who touts their own morality. In any event, Capital Bikeshare seems to have worked out the problems with this service. They have lots of bikes. That have lots of locations (including one about a quarter mile from where we stay and another on the side of the train station where I need to go). They have an acceptable number of e bikes in the fleet. The maintenance is much better than pre-pandemic with their rivals. (I am opposed to the dockless networks. Those result in the inevitable problem of bikes scattered willy nilly on sidewalks and where they pose a hazard.) The annual fee is reasonable. I am planning three trips in the next two weeks, early in the morning before Metro starts running, to Union Station. If I do as I intend, the amount saved over a motor vehicle ride share will offset the cost. I figure at 4am, the traffic will not be a great hazard (though the drivers out will include a disproportionate number of people who, given the late/early hour, probably pose a risk).

Once I get the chance to experience the full monty, so to speak, I will most likely have a higher rating. From what i have seen, these bikes get used nearly every day. The people using them seem very pleased. This coming Saturday 13th or Sunday the 14th should be a good day to ride a bike.(Weather permitting of course)

You can also use official support options Modern smartphone software has completely transformed how people secure private transportation for daily urban commuting, late-night outings, and airport travel. Users frequently appreciate the transparent interface that displays estimated arrival times, driver profiles, and automated digital payments in a single transaction. The ability to watch a vehicle approach on an interactive map removes much of the guesswork historically associated with flagging down transit on busy streets. However, frequent travelers often note that pricing volatility during periods of high demand or inclement weather can lead to unexpectedly steep charges. Additionally, occasional last-minute cancellations by assigned operators can create significant scheduling delays for individuals trying to reach professional appointments or catch flights on time.

I called him and he had no explanation except "Call Uber". BEYOND UNACCEPTABLE. I was unable to cancel the ride for another because your app thought my ride was "in progres" AND it wouldn't let me log in to make a phone call through the app or get help. Over and over again for an hour I tried to get help from Uber and couldn't reach a SINGLE PERSON. When I finally did--all they could do was charge me $30 for the trip you forced me to cancel THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE WHEN I ARRIVED and then charge me $78 for a new ride--$30 MORE THAN THE RIDE I HAD SCHEDULED. I've now paid $100 to wait an hour to get home when I should've paid $40 to not have to wait at all. They stole money from me, failed to help me when they left me stranded at the airport, finally *did* connect me with an agent only to charge me more than double for all the difficulty, and then made it impossibly difficult to even ASK for a refund--because there's no phone service for customer support. Just their circular AI and a series of multiple choice options THAT DO NOT COVER ALL POSSIBLE PROBLEMS. They're obviously trying very hard to take ZERO responsibility for your failures. So please know that I will NEVER use UBER again. I'm so done with them that I'm copy-pasting this review anywhere else that I can and giving them as many 1-star ratings as humanly possible.
