As someone who does not trust contractors from our prior experience Restoration USA has definitely turned our opinion around of what a good contractor should be. I am talking about John who is amazing and has great follow up. Our work with Restoration was finished in January and we were very happy with the results. There was just one thing that was fixed but really was not and I called John several months later and he came over and try to adjust it and realized it was going to be a bit more work. John sent over Alex who just started with the company( by the way he is awesome) fixed the issue with the closet door we were having. It was not a simple fix and Alex really worked at it until it was done correctly. To me that is what a great contractor should be even after the work is done you can call them after the job is finished and something was not done to your satisfaction that they will continue to support you which Restoration(John did) that builds trust and if we ever needed anything done I would not have any hesitation in calling Restoration besides I have John number on speed dial. We had an issue with mold in one of our bathrooms. Restoration USA Came out very quickly and assessed the problem. They took charge and were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Their expertise and professionalism gave us a very strong sense of comfort. Their workers were prompt and efficient, and took very good care of the situation. Scary is the best word to describe the feeling of having water damage in your home. A pipe exploded in my kitchen and water was rushing out from underneath the wall. What was happening? I went online as fast as I could and looked up emergency water damage services and found Restoration USA. They answered the phone at 10 pm and were at my door by 10:30. James took a lot of time that he didn't have to explaining why this happened, and how I can prevent it in the future. Restoration USA was a life saver, and the best part? When my apartment experienced a burst pipe that I didn't know about, Restoration USA was able to detect the leak within the first 5 minutes of them getting here! Even better, the leak detection was entirely free of charge! Unfortunately, the leak had been going on for a few months, so the area also had mold. Restoration USA referred to me an inspection company which discovered that the area was quite infested. Over the period of the next 3 days, Restoration USA, more specifically, John and his team, courteously worked on removing the mold in the room by respecting my wishes to only use power tools between 1 and 4 o'clock. I treated each of the employees to dinner on their last day for being such hard, dedicated workers and treating me, my home, and my family with such respect. I am a construction professional, having handled mold and moisture removal, repair and replacement MANY times, and I can not say enough GREAT things about Restoration USA. The entire project from Remediation to Replacement went smooth a pie. The care they took to contain the area and treat and test as required was totally efficient. We are in the final stages of replacing the wall and the work has been impeccable and very cost-wise. Everyone I have dealt with (Project Managers John and Rob, Superintendent Van and his assistant for remediation, Tom and Brandon the put-back crews have been respectful and professional. My experience with this company and their contractors was a nightmare. The air conditioning technicians did not know what a condensate pump was and could not reset it after cleaning the ac unit. I had to show them how to reset it. When I called the boss about it, he told me that these pumps just came out last January and he did not train his people yet after 8 months. I have had this condensate pump for well over 3 years so that was not true. My a/c vents obviously were leaking as evidenced by water stains around most of the vents and yet they cleaned them anyhow instead of recommending new vents which I soon after replaced at my expense with another ac company.Floating of the walls and ceiling of my kitchen was of extremely poor quality. It was uneven, jagged, and plaster was dripped over my entire stove which I subsequently have to replace. Plaster was also splattered on my windows, floor, electrical wires sticking out etc. in the kitchen. Communication and reliability were very poor.There has been a consistent lack of follow through, disorganization,and lack of communication throughout the mold clearance and start of the restoration process. I was often passed back and forth between the primary persons at Restoration USA. At times I was told that someone would be here at a certain time and I waited in vain most or all of the day and no one showed up. I had to call numerous times to find out if they were coming that day and when. Many of these instances, no one showed up even if I was told they were running late. Many times people arrived to do work I was not told about nor informed they would be there. One example is that men showed up to pack up my kitchen with no advance warning to me. I had to rush into my kitchen as they were putting things in boxes in order to get out the things I would need while they would be demolishing and restoring my kitchen. Fragile items were stacked in boxes with no protection. The two times I was asked for payment, I did so immediately. I made the second payment 7 days before they ceased work because the second insurance payment they submitted claims for was not received yet. Previously Restoration USA asked me to contact my insurance company. I did so and was told it was about to be approved but they had trouble getting the information that was needed from RestorationUSA in the recent past weeks. Restoration USA stated that they had sent this before and would send it again and the adjuster did not return their calls. The insurance claim adjuster had a different story. Plus she always returned my calls. However, after the plasterer floating my walls left part ways through the job at 9 pm , the next day he did not return. Once again I had to call RestorationUSA to find out when he was coming back. I was told then, that he wasn't and they had stopped work until this second claim was paid despite the fact that I gave them money they asked for 7 days ago and was not warned they would stop, nor was I asked for money. I had paid approximately $8600 for mold clearance and approximately $3000 towards restoration.The result was that I was left with a demolished kitchen with plaster and much debris left in the kitchen and garage. The only restoration was a very poor floating job and countertop removal. Is this worth $over $3000? Nails, staples, cigarette butts, old countertops etc. were left all over the floor in my kitchen and in the garage and driveway. Live open wires were jutting from the walls. As a result the job site was unsafe and full of debris. I got a flat tire, had to pay for a new tire, pay to have the debris removed and a new stove, and have restoration work redone. Many charges paid for were questionable and/or not done, for example (only a few of many examples):,remove refrigerator $38(it was moved about 4 feet and rolls) refrigerator water line disconnect and reconnect ($67.65) this is a very simple process of unscrewing an external line and was not reset. Remove paper towel dispenser ($15.20) It was attached with 4 screws. I also asked for itemized list of restoration work done and balance from $3000 be refunded to me as well as depreciated cost of stove and explanation of $895 bill on invoice paid from insurance company to them. All of this had already been paid to RestorationUSA in their first invoice to the insurance company in July. I wrote to Restoration USA and notified them that I was terminating my contract with them basedo, and: 1) money owed to me for work billed and paid for, but not done on insurance payment in July. 2) damages to my property, and request for explanation of certain charges on bill of July 10, and 3) evidence of restoration work done and balance from $3500 allready paid for this and balance refunded to me. I sent a letter to the owner on Oct 8,2015 and have heard nothing back from him. I have been left with poor work that I have had to replace at my own, damages to my property,and monies owed to me.
