Restore Motion is magical. I have seen multiple physical therapists at multiple other clinics for about 3 years for a nagging shoulder issue without resolution. I met with Patrick, who talked with me for half an hour really inquiring in depth about my pain and limited range. He then worked with me and made some adjustments, and I walked away feeling some relief for the first time in years after my very first session. After seeing him once a week for 6 weeks, I am pain free and have almost 100% range of motion restored. I feel as if the other clinics I visited were treating a cough when I had pneumonia. I really love this place. I have been to a few PT in the area - they meet you once then pass you on to an assistant. You have to go twice a week for a few weeks before you feel better. But at Restore Motion, you work with the therapist for the entire hour. I have seen Reshma for pelvic therapy after I had a baby, then Kerry for hip pain. I only had to see them each two times before I felt better. It's amazing - I let myself live with pain for months and then they fixed me in 1-2 weeks. Now my young daughter goes to Kerry for a medical issue. She is wonderful with her - she shares things with Kerry issues that she won't share with me. They have fun together and she trusts her. I'm not sure why anyone would go anywhere that isn't Restore Motion. read more

My fiance had called on the phone to inquire about the vaginismus treatment (that was my misdiagnosis) at the time. While my therapists lacked training here, something that still sticks with me today is that one therapist on the phone said that "because I wasn't calling, it showed how motivated I really was..." Which would mean the progress depends on how motivated one is... what a thing to say! I wasn't calling because I had a rigorous job back then so I needed him to call during business hours. Also, lots of patients are misdiagnosed with vaginismus when there could be multiple factors going on. The therapists here kept saying I wasn't ready to continue with their treatments and made it all about my psyche when really I had real undiscovered pain symptoms and conditions (ehlers- danlos syndrome, stage 4 endometriosis, pelvic floor dysfunction/hypertonicity, hip dysplasia, FAI, congenital neuroproliferative vestibulodynia, sacroilliac joint inflammation) that were preventing me from being able to do internal examinations. Due to this, it drove me to pursue a very expensive botox procedure, which made me worse for months. Hypermobile patients need strengthening not stretching and lengthening. No amount of pelvic floor PT would have fixed some of my issues. Now I'm four major surgeries out; periacetabular osteotomies and arthroscopies, laparoscopy for endometriosis, 7 pelvic floor PTs (70+ sessions), 2 hip PT (80 sessions), 4 cognitive therapists, 1 botox, 1 hymenectomy, and I had real physical issues. This practice is overpriced, ineffective and lacks follow up. I was actually I injured by one of the physical therapists. After persistent problems with the injury and seeing another Physical therapy practice, I decided to reach out to the owners to let them know the situation as my injury was not getting better and my medical bill's were adding up and I was spending hours in additional physical therapy. It took a couple of weeks to get one of the owners on the phone. They offered 1 free session......and that was it. Neither of the owners followed up with me. They took no further responsibility for there substandard employee. Also, sems the person no longer work there. Wish I could give negative stars. Update: I will have life long issues as a result of this injury that happened during my visit. STAY AWAY!!! read more

I was an avid exerciser. I particularly liked biking in the gym. I started noticing that my buttucks became numb after my rides. I didn't think much of it, but decided to get a deep tissue massage. Suddenly I found myself in severe pain whenever I was sitting. The nerve pain was so disabling that I had to carry a pillow everywhere. Sitting at my desk was impossible. Carrying a pillow into a meeting was embarrassing. Going out to dinner was a sacrifice. I became more and more reclusive. In my search for help, I miraculously found a book that lead me to a retreat with others suffering the same pain. I went all the way to Big Sur California for three days. There I was treated internally by a physical therapist who understood pelvic floor pain. Upon my return home, I went on a search to locate a therapist with the same understanding. I was blessed to find Miriam Graham, founder of Restore Motion in North Bethesda, MD. After suffering for two years, my condition began to resolve. It wasn't a quick fix. Nerves are the slowest things to heal in our bodies. I went to therapy with Miriam two times a week and continued for many months. My pelvic floor needed retraining to stop the muscles from re-tightening. I have been pain free for years now. I can sit anywhere on anything. No more pillows. This is a complicated condition. I feel very lucky to have found Carrie at Restore Motion. I moved from Atlanta recently, where I used to see a wonderful NMR practitioner (neuromuscular re-education, like Anatomy Trains/structural integration). Though Carrie is a PT, she's also trained in the Barral method, a similar technique, which is what I see her for. My neck, shoulders, feet, wonky hip, etc. all look forward to my monthly visits. If you have recurring musculoskeletal pain, trigger point pain, chronic tension, etc., I can't recommend Carrie and this type of therapy enough. Besides her technical skill, she is just really super nice - and clearly cares about her patients. read more

Pelvic floor therapist are difficult to find. I noticed progress and received good education from one of the therapist at Restore. Scheduling was a challenge, I would cancel or change appointments later found out that wasn't process correctly. They're an out of network provider, charging the same price for therapists with new to very experienced. To me there should be different tiers for skill level. read more

I was diagnosed with a pelvic nerve entrapment and had trouble finding a PT practice that could help minimize it's effects. Miriam at Restore Motion has been wonderful in her approach to explaining the physiology behind the problem as well as the PT exercises to help correct it. She is happy to answer any questions and is extremely patient. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone who needs PT. read more

Restore Motion is an excellent group of well-trained physical therapists. I have seen three physical therapists there over about a five year period. I was first referred to Restore Motion for pelvic floor issues by a urologist who described the physical therapist as a "rock star." She was. Much to my amazement, my pelvic floor issues resolved within a few months of treatment. I was so pleased with the treatment that I continued physical therapy for both acute problems and for what I call "routine maintenance and tune up." As a result I received treatment for an ankle injury that prevented me from walking. Within one hour of treatment I was able to walk and have an exercise and footwear plan to get at the original cause of the problem. My regular "rock star" physical therapist came in on a day when she was not planning to work in order to help me with my ankle problem. This enabled me to take a long planned trip that otherwise I would have had to cancel. I then followed up with another superb physical therapist in the practice who specializes in feet to develop an ongoing routine to prevent a recurrence. I have also seen a third physical therapist there who specializes in balance and was very pleased with the results. Knowing that I have Restore Motion as on ongoing resource for good health gives me tremendous confidence. This is a group of nice, interesting, and very talented medical providers. The COVID precautions are excellent. I recommend this practice both for immediate problems and also for ongoing, nagging needs of the body, especially as on ages. read more

I broke my foot severely in 2013! This PT practice is great. All the PTs are very knowledgeable, helpful and profession. The front office staff is great!!! I have nothing but great things to say about Restore Motion, and encourage any one seeking a PT to check them out! read more
