I meant to leave this review months ago when I first visited! The location was very convenient for me. After experiencing lower back pain due to an injury, I was referred to this office. I met with Dr. Jonathan Kriebel, who by the way is excellent. He was very knowledgeable, personable, professional and encouraging. Dr. Kriebel didn't make me feel bad about not being able to do all the exercises right away. I was given some to "practice" at home. I'm so relieved that my back is feeling much better and I can't thank this office enough! The space is very modern and clean! Elo, the receptionist is very friendly and helpful! I was really excited to try them because of all the great reviews, but sadly it looks like that won't happen as they moved my mother's appointment claiming I schedule it for a day when she works. There was a lot of back and forth with me trying to find a day to best fit her schedule, but if I had moved it, it would not have been to a day that conflicts with her work schedule. The front desk lady offered no solution except to push us back another week, after we already waited 2 weeks for the appointment that was messed up. You go looking for PT because your in a lot of pain, so after already waiting so long, waiting longer wasn't a solution. read more

I had a total knee replacement in October of this year and chose Focused Physical Therapy for it's convenient location for my outpatient therapy. I couldn't have a found a better place to go. My therapist, Bryan, has been tremendously supportive, listening to my questions and concerns, understanding my goals, and knowing when and how much to push the knee workout. It appears there are at least 3 main therapists, plus several technicians who are there to take you though your exercises that accompany each session. All of them show great respect and compassion for the clients, whatever the age or issue that brought them. They are knowledgeable and are always smiling, so you feel welcome and at ease. They also all work well together, and you can tell they get along with each other, and enjoy what they do. Eloise ("Elo") manages the desk and appointments and you can tell much of the "smooth running" is her doing. I never have to wait past my scheduled start time, nor for the equipment I need for each exercise. They keep records on each client so that no matter who I'm working with, they're familiar with my progress and needs. I have taken a number of problems to Sam, and in each case he has delivered excellent therapy getting me back on my feet. Front desk offers wonderful courtesy, accur and an infectious smile. The little touches certainly help the healing. Sam has incredible insight into anatomy, injury, and what to do and not do to put yourself in a better place. I highly recommend Focused PT! I've been to quite a few PTs over the past 15 years and this is by far the best one. They worked at the right pace for me to continuously get better and feel a lot less pain. If something in my treatment plan isn't working, they change it up to fit my abilities and limitations. I've struggled with chronic injuries and pain for several years and I'm finally feeling like I'm getting better. The facility is really nice and have up to date equipment for the work they need to do. They are extremely personable and make you feel welcome every visit. During COVID, they are taking the safety precautions to ensure everyone stays healthy. They limit the number of patients, sterilize equipment after each use, and keep the patients 6 feet apart. My experience with physical therapy through Jonathan Kriebel at FPT has been amazing. I'm a 49 yo with painful arthritis in my neck, shoulder, elbows, hands and yes... lower back. I've worked physical jobs most of my life and suffer from sciatica since my 20's. I came to FPT by way of my regular doctors appointment. I had stopped working because of pain and thought taking some time off would heal what was going on. I really thought it was me getting older. It was not the answer, nor was pain medication doing anything other than slowing me down and making me sick. So I gave in to PT and let me tell you it works! After a couple of months of regular therapy visits, lots of training by Jonathan and loads of positive attitude from Andy, I'm non longer in need of a cane and I can now keep my sciatica under control without nearly as much pain medication. The stretches that they have shown me are preventing triggers that cause me distress. Overall I still have pain from arthritis that won't completely go away but I'm learning what to do to keep the issue from having as many flares. I use to have 7 bad days a week... now I have 2. I highly recommend this team. I've met and had first hand experience with Sam and other members of the team, all are well trained, pleasant to be around and very professional. You can't go wrong here and trust me I know about pain. It takes time at PT because there is NO magic pill. read more

I was referred to Dr. Sam Hamou by another Physical Therapist who recognizes his work as excellent. I saw Sam for physical therapy following a hip replacement in January. He and his staff have been kind, focused, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. They were so encouraging when I had a couple of setbacks that I felt confident that I would resume progress. Indeed my strength, range of motion and resumption of recreational activities are far better than before surgery. I recommend this PT practice without reservation. read more

Sam was referred to me by a good friend. His level of experience and expertise in the field helped me to recover from ACL injury faster than anticipated. Dr Sam Hamou was recommended by a friend when my longtime troubled ankle became very inflamed and I wasn't sure I would be able to go on a big backpacking trip. Background - this ankle is a mess - extremely loose and damaged ligaments from countless sprains. Everyone thinks it needs surgery but I think surgery sounds awful. Mostly I try to keep it strong and in use, but it hurts and swells a lot. It was getting worse as I was training more, so I got an X-ray and an ortho doc to tell me there was nothing seriously wrong first. Sam not only fixed my ankle in a few visits, but gave me a much deeper understanding of all the contributors to ankle instability. He convinced my talus bone to start moving properly, helped me strengthen my gluteus minimus (I would never have guessed that was important) and gave me lots of tools to keep it working well. I went on that backpacking trip two months ago, and my ankle was much less trouble than I had imagined. Since then I have been running and hiking with no problems. It hardly even swells now. This was a great physical therapy experience and I am sure I will be back with the next body part that begins misbehaving. read more

I highly recommend this practice for your physical therapy needs. I have spent the last 3 months working with Jonathan, who went beyond just putting me through exercises. He explained everything to me as we went along, and truly educated me so that I would understand what I needed to do on my own once I "graduated" from PT. A big shout out to Seth as well, who always supported me when Jon needed to work with his other clients. The facility itself has a very comfortable, relaxed environment, where everyone is so friendly, including Elo, the office manager. Sam is a top notch physical therapist. I've been seeing him for over a month now following total knee replacement. Admittedly, I don't have much to compare him to, but I'm quite sure I would be miserable going to my surgeon's factory shop where 5+ people are getting worked on simultaneously and you don't always see the same person each visit. Knee replacement requires some painful maneuvers...I can't imagine how stressful it would be to undergo PT with a revolving door of practitioners who read the history of my sessions from a chart only, never having laid hands on my body before and not fully trusting them yet myself. The other clients of Focused that I've met on my way in or out are all super pleased with their experience too. Elo makes scheduling as simple as possible, and all the auxillary staff are super competent and likeable too. read more

I've gone to Sam with one chronic condition and one new one. In each case, he found a way for immediate pain relief and gave me solid help in learning how to manage my conditions really well. Unlike a lot of people who deal with chronic conditions, Sam really listens and figures out the best way to help you. I would recommend him to anyone who is experiencing pain from arthritis, sprains, or other conditions. In one case, an orthopedist told me to just 'live with' the pain from a damaged muscle. In just a few sessions, Sam alleviated most of the pain and taught me how to keep moving the muscle to avoid the problem in the future. He's head and shoulders above any other PT I've had.
