For me, the qualities making Iron Tribe superior to my previous gym experiences are the combination of competitiveness and teamwork, the total accountability required, and the challenge factor... After rearranging my schedule to make time for the initial consultation, it was very frustrating to have my time wasted. I spent 30 minutes listening to a spill about what all they offer, what they can do for me, how great I will look after six weeks, etc. He made it all sound really good and so legit. During the consultation, you are also asked a lot of questions about why you are there, what is motivating you, and whether you really think you are ready for the program. Because your consultation is not a private one-on-one, but is done with at least one other person who is a total stranger, you can't always be candid with your answers because some things are just too personal to share. For example, I was there because I'm a suicide survivor (six months now) and I wanted to do something positive and uplifting for myself to help make my life worthwhile. Anyway, after he gets your hopes up and tells you all these wonderful things you are going to achieve through diet, exercise, and personal coaching, he says.... "And all you have to do is put down $499 today to get started! This is considered 'betting on yourself,' so you get the money back if you achieve your goals within the six weeks, but if you don't succeed then we get to keep your money." Well, I remembered during his talk he mentioned that 80% to 90% of the people who participate in their program FAIL and end up quitting. So when you think about it, those are a lot of people whose money they get to keep. This is a business. They exist to make money. So why would they help you to meet these goals within a stringent six week period if they would have to hand your $500 back to you? They are counting on you to fail. I'm a young person working hard for what I have. I can't just go hand someone $500 in hopes that I'm in the 10% of people who actually get their money back. Beware of anyone who advertises something as FREE because it is ALWAYS too good to be true! My time was wasted. My frustration level was high. I was pissed off that I was mistaken for a fool. But, I learned my lesson. Next time I see an advertisement like this, I will just keep right on scrolling.

Thanks to Me Me, I'm now convinced that the definition of progress is letting her push me until I'm pretty sure I can't do another rep...and then somehow she still gets me to doing five more! I have tried a few trainers and must say I love it here! The gym is always clean and I love 1/1 sessions. She's like the perfect blend of drill sergeant and supportive bestie. She motivates me with the perfect mix of encouragement and 'I know you can do better than that' stare. She don't trip when you need to take a break and the workout music motivates you to keep going. I've never actually had a trainer that devotes (no cell phone and I have her complete attention) my time strictly to me and my goals. The meal plans she sends are actually delicious and consistent of things I eat. I have to send in pics of my food which keep me accountable and make me less likely to get something over my calorie count. I can't lie the workouts are killer--in the best way possible. This week she gave me homework exercises so I can keep making progress even when I'm not at the gym. If you're looking for a trainer who will not only help you reach your fitness goals but also make you laugh (and maybe cry a little from the burn), look no further. I would 10/10 would recommend

Sporting a full line of gear for scuba diving, free diving, snorkeling, underwater photography, etc., this shop has everything for your diving needs. It also has a repair shop for scuba equipment! If you're thinking about getting a dive certification, this is definitely the place to go to. Mark actually did my certification training and was very helpful and fun. Mark also owns Blue Water Park, a quarry in Pelham, where you can do your training dives or just dive for fun. When the dive season swings around, I look forward to doing my advanced open water training here. (Any Yelpers out there need a dive buddy?)

Red Mountain Park is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon hiking, with so much to explore. While…read morevisiting Alabama, my friends and I decided to spend a couple of hours here and ended up hiking about 5-6 miles. There's truly no shortage of trails, and the variety keeps things interesting the entire time. The park definitely offers some challenging uphill climbs--especially for us Florida girls who aren't used to elevation--but we powered through and felt very accomplished. One of my favorite highlights was Rushing Rendezvous; the idea of a suspension bridge tucked up in the treetops always excites me, and this one did not disappoint. Of course, when we saw Trail 5 marked as most difficult, it was a no‑brainer--we had to take it. I really enjoyed reading about the history along the way, especially learning more about the Birmingham Mineral Railroad site. I do wish there had been a bit more signage around some of the remaining structures so we could soak up even more history, but honestly, guessing their original purpose became part of the fun. Hands down, I would absolutely come back to explore more of Red Mountain Park. It's a great mix of challenge, scenery, and history--and well worth the visit.

Walk in and was greeted by very friendly worker (owner?) who was talking with/helping another customer. Walked around the store and checked things out. Small section of Men's and Women's clothes. Both had SPF and bug repellent shirts, pretty cool! Especially since my friend is going on a Safari and was able to find some unique items for the trip. Name brands you are familiar with (North Face and Patagonia) to go along with their own branded items. They also have a small selection of back packs and gear. What they really specialize in is fishing supplies. If you are into tying your own flies and things like that they have all the gear needed for accomplishing that task. They also have some really nice Kayak set-ups, again geared towards a fisherman. Overall a really nice store and staff.
