As can be the case in the later season, it was raining nearly the entire time we were on the cruise. But we had come prepared with rain gear, and while it would've been nice if it had been more sunny and less foggy, we still had an incredible time. We got to see some glaciers, including the Harding Icefield - which was pretty cool since we hiked up to it the following day from another direction. So much wildlife to see - orcas, puffins, seals, bald eagles... Even though the weather wasn't the best, we still had great animal sightings. All the staff were so incredibly kind and friendly. The tour included lunch. Felt like the lunch was the weakest link of the tour - food could've been a bit better - but all things considered, I wasn't going on the cruise for the food. Towards the end of the cruise, they were able to get some of the glacier ice into the boat and had glacier ice margaritas for sale. Really good price - I believe they were $7 each. The margarita was good, but the ice was incredible. Overall, it was a fantastic experience exploring this portion of the national park. Would highly recommend!

They served lunch which was burrito (choice of either southwestern chicken or vegetarian) and a few hours later a warm chocolate chip cookie. The staff also went around to show some animal collection, helped us locate the animals that were being pointed out by the captain, took our photos, answered questions, ensured our safety and even fished a chunk of ice near the glacier and let people touch and have photos with it. We saw many animals including whales, orcas, sea otters, sea lions, different birds including puffins, bald eagles, etc. We went close to glaciers. The captain was very knowledgeable. The 6-hour cruise was memorable! For the most part the waters were calm; there were certain areas that were rough. Even then, we were told that the water was calmest when we visited on that day in June. For some who have have motion sickness, bringing a medication can be helpful (though I think they also sell some on board) though we did not need any. Layering is still the key with an outer shell that is waterproof in case it rains. Though not necessary really, binoculars can enhance the experience. Would definitely recommend!

Our large catch was already filleted by the time we reached port, and we opted to have J-Dock individually package our fish (salmon, halibut, and rockfish) for us to bring back home (they offer shipment as well, but we choose to bring ours back on the plane). Boat and equipment seemed well-maintained for our end-of-season trip. We would absolutely use J-Dock again on a future trip. Note that we were absolutely exhausted by the end, and had a 90-minute drive afterwards -- consider staying in Seward overnight after this trip.

Unfortunately, this trip I was severely sea sick, but my spouse caught a 95 pound halibut and even I had some success with the "smallest halibut". Captain Kyle and crew were fabulous. They all worked very hard during the entire charter. Our captain is a nurse and he helped me with my situation and the three-person crew checked on my welfare and ensured I continued to fish. I whole heartedly recommend J Dock to anyone visiting Seward Alaska but recommend you book in advance. Depending on the month you are visiting will also decide the fish you can keep. The silver salmon derby in Seward is epic in July. Remember, Fish On!

Unexpectedly, we ended up being the only guests as others had backed out. We started out of Seward with a nice trip from Anchorage with Joan and Jeff as our shuttle team. They were both very personable and a pleasure to make the trip with to Seward. We were greeted with champagne and quickly got underway. Our accommodations were exactly as described in the Master suite. After two days of being wined and dined, we finally had to say, the "food is amazing, but we don't eat this much in a day. We need to slow down on the amount" LOL Certainly all you could possibly eat and nicely prepared. En En set beautiful tables for every meal and and our wine glasses were never dry. The weather was not the best for the first few days, so with everyone's agreement, we decided to roll the dice and cross the Gulf of Alaska to head towards Whittier. At that point, the weather became amazing, we did kayaking and had a 13,000 year old cocktail (Bourbon on Glacier ice). Who knew we would go to Alaska to get a tan? We spent the entire time cruising out on the deck getting sun. Captain Al and his team were wonderful hosts. I guess I could address every complaint that has been posted, but I'm not going to give it much credibility by spending any time on it. Yes, the boat is not brand new, but we had no issues on board (except the battery, but that's a little joke between Captain Al and us.). I can't speak to any of the other accommodations because we did not see or use them, but there were absolutely no complaints with ours. We are already considering the possibility of taking friends and going again some time. Thanks for everything Captain Al, En En and Christian! It was the trip of a lifetime! Bald eagles, puffins, orcas, humpbacks, sea otters, seals, sea lions, and glacier calving! I took the 7.5 hour tour and time absolutely flew by we were having so much fun. If 7.5 hours seems like a long time and you're hesitant -- just do it! It's so incredibly worth it! Emily was also so knowledgeable about the area, from the geology to the wildlife, and so helpful and patient when I got seasick (not her fault at all, I am just super prone to it) Overall truly amazing experience, incredibly worth the money and time

Comfortable rooms, plenty of deck space and a cozy dining area are just a few of the welcoming aspects. I'm a taller guy and their bunk beds were still plenty comfortable. Crew cooks up some fantastic meals and is great to talk to. I would recommend to any group of friends or family for a nice private venture out to Resurrection Bay.
