The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, with spectacular glaciers, incredible wildlife, and stunning coastal views everywhere we looked. Our captain was amazing! She did a fantastic job pointing out every scenic highlight and all the sea animals we encountered along the way. Her knowledge and enthusiasm made the trip even more enjoyable. A special shout-out to the two young servers on board. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the cruise. When we reached the glacier, they even helped us take photos while we held pieces of glacier ice, creating memories we'll treasure forever. I would 100% recommend this cruise--as long as you don't get seasick. The water can get rough. Unfortunately, even though our daughter took Dramamine before boarding, she still became seasick and couldn't fully enjoy the experience. If you're prone to motion sickness, consider talking to your doctor about stronger prevention options before your trip. Overall, this cruise is an absolute must-do in Seward. Dress warmly, bring a good camera, and prepare for one of the most unforgettable experiences Alaska has to offer!

We did the longest tour they had - the eight hour Northwestern - it was great every minute. We got the perk pass which I would recommend if you care about where you sit - we were the third couple on the boat and got a great seat facing forward. You will have to share with other families as all the seating is group seating but everyone is outside almost the whole time so easy enough to share. Perk pass also includes unlimited soft drinks - since there are three heads on board you will feel free to hydrate. The wildlife and glacier part of the tour is amazing. We saw otters, Stellars porpoise, a Blue whale blowing a rainbow spout!, humpback whales, eagles, puffins, seals, sea lions, and a pod of 12 orcas. Not to mention some incredible islands, glaciers, and mountains. The captain and other staff were experienced and great narrators. I did have a prescription sea sickness patch and it was a bit rocky for about half an hour, but it didn't impact me thanks to the patch - only two or three people seemed really sick. Food was better than I would have thought - cinnamon rolls and yogurt for breakfast. A quinoa chicken southwestern burrito, and a cookie at the end. Also tried the glacierita - when else will you have a chance?? If you're considering this tour - just book now!

Captain Will is the kind of captain who clearly loves what he does, and it shows. He's friendly and happy to chat about fishing or the best fish to eat, but he's also constantly scanning the boat, making sure the deckhands are on top of the lines, watching the weather, and keeping everyone on the fish. That balance inspired so much confidence. The trip was fun from start to finish, but you also knew you were in capable hands, which is a big deal when you've traveled three hours offshore, fish for six hours, and then have another three-hour ride back to port. Will is a true professional who has earned our trust and respect. The deckhands were just as impressive. Carl brought so much enthusiasm to the trip. He was patient with our questions, genuinely excited to be out on the water, and his energy was contagious. Joe was one of the hardest-working deckhands we've ever seen. He was constantly moving, grabbing the net, helping land fish, getting rods back into position, and making sure everyone had the best opportunity to catch fish. He absolutely crushed it while keeping a positive attitude all day. A few tips for anyone considering this trip: * Wear layers like you're going skiing, and don't forget rain gear, gloves, and a warm hat. We had cold, rainy weather, but we stayed comfortable and had a fantastic time. * Tip the crew well. They work incredibly hard from the moment you leave the dock until you're back. They absolutely earn it. * The crew does a great job making sure everyone has a fair shot at catching fish. We came home with halibut, rockfish, salmon, and even a salmon shark. * If you're not flying home immediately with a cooler, have J-Dock process and ship your fish. It's well worth it to make sure your catch arrives home in great condition. Landing a salmon shark definitely added an extra level of excitement to our trip, but even without that unforgettable moment, this would have been an incredible adventure. The professionalism, knowledge, and personalities of Captain Will, Carl, and Joe made all the difference. We left with amazing memories, incredible fish, and an experience we'll be talking about for years. We can't recommend J-Dock highly enough.

Our large catch was already filleted by the time we reached port, and we opted to have J-Dock individually package our fish (salmon, halibut, and rockfish) for us to bring back home (they offer shipment as well, but we choose to bring ours back on the plane). Boat and equipment seemed well-maintained for our end-of-season trip. We would absolutely use J-Dock again on a future trip. Note that we were absolutely exhausted by the end, and had a 90-minute drive afterwards -- consider staying in Seward overnight after this trip.

Unexpectedly, we ended up being the only guests as others had backed out. We started out of Seward with a nice trip from Anchorage with Joan and Jeff as our shuttle team. They were both very personable and a pleasure to make the trip with to Seward. We were greeted with champagne and quickly got underway. Our accommodations were exactly as described in the Master suite. After two days of being wined and dined, we finally had to say, the "food is amazing, but we don't eat this much in a day. We need to slow down on the amount" LOL Certainly all you could possibly eat and nicely prepared. En En set beautiful tables for every meal and and our wine glasses were never dry. The weather was not the best for the first few days, so with everyone's agreement, we decided to roll the dice and cross the Gulf of Alaska to head towards Whittier. At that point, the weather became amazing, we did kayaking and had a 13,000 year old cocktail (Bourbon on Glacier ice). Who knew we would go to Alaska to get a tan? We spent the entire time cruising out on the deck getting sun. Captain Al and his team were wonderful hosts. I guess I could address every complaint that has been posted, but I'm not going to give it much credibility by spending any time on it. Yes, the boat is not brand new, but we had no issues on board (except the battery, but that's a little joke between Captain Al and us.). I can't speak to any of the other accommodations because we did not see or use them, but there were absolutely no complaints with ours. We are already considering the possibility of taking friends and going again some time. Thanks for everything Captain Al, En En and Christian! It was the trip of a lifetime! We decided we wanted to do a glacier and sightseeing tour, but all of the companies that showed up in our initial Google search were already booked. After a little more searching, we came across this company, and after reading the reviews, we decided to give them a try. The reviews were spot on. The whole experience was amazing. The glacier was absolutely beautiful, and seeing both humpback whales and orcas on the same trip was something we'll never forget. Leif shared great stories along the way, and both he and Emily were incredibly knowledgeable about the area, wildlife, and local history. They were also just genuinely friendly and made the entire trip fun and relaxed. This ended up being one of the highlights of our Alaska trip. Comfortable rooms, plenty of deck space and a cozy dining area are just a few of the welcoming aspects. I'm a taller guy and their bunk beds were still plenty comfortable. Crew cooks up some fantastic meals and is great to talk to. I would recommend to any group of friends or family for a nice private venture out to Resurrection Bay.
