Apparently my original review of this church, offended one of the many parishioners. I reread my review and I said the truth. I said the people are great. It is not my favorite - sorry. I have given quite a bit of my money to this church as I frequent mass there. I recognize it's an important part of Winter Garden's community. I suppose it's somehow my fault that my review pops up in a search for the church, I can not control the internet and metadata. My apologies to anyone offended by my reviews. Here's 5 stars for God. As we enter into our most Holy Week, I am going to do my best to let go of my own frustration at being judged and sent an email that both tried to shame me and accuse me of something I would never do, suggesting I wrote something I should be ashamed of. After re-reading my review - worried maybe I wrote something negative or too harsh..I recall it was just informative. I have been a parishioner here for 30 years. I've seen lots of Pastors come and go. We've had great Priests like Father Bob (absolutely Amazing) and not so great (I won't mention). However, this church is not here for your entertainment but for you to become closer to God. Our priests, congregation, and lay people really do try their best. It's not rock concert or a showroom. This is a church for the people in our community (all types) to try to have a place of peace and comfort to communicate with Christ. This Church was built because it was originally so small, it couldn't hold its congregation from what I understand. It's not a stop at Universal Studios. Meaning it got to a point, we needed more room. They used the money to make room for the congregation, not make it a Universal Studios stop. due to the parishioner response to Miss Tracey I will definitely not be going to this church. everyone has a right to their opinion and you just blasted her for having her opinion. i agree with Miss Tracey that a church must "move" you in some sense. whatever that means to you. i am new to Orlando and looking for a church but will not be coming here. don't like parishioners blasting each other. other churches had better reviews. shame on you! read more

I just read the prior review by Ms. T. M and I just had to share my two cents. It seems, from her review, that Ms. Tracey is basing her opinion on the need to be entertained "moved". I don't feel that is what church is about. Church is about teaching and spreading the gospel and educating people about the true word of God. It is about feeling and establishing a sense of community and family, "no man is an island unto himself", it is about receiving and giving God's love. When you enter the church for Mass you are greeted by a warm hello and often a handshake. Look around and you will find children serving as ushers, they will be found clumsily yet proudly working as alter servers, singing in the choir, and proudly performing many more services to God. "Suffer the little children..." The church supports many venues for ministry and have a great religious education program for adults and children. People who cannot afford certain programs are given full scholarships. All in God's name, for God's sake, and all for the Glory of God. Ms. Tracey did not mention any of that since she was not "moved" or since she felt that the church's physical condition was not up to par, and she seems too preoccupied with the physical to see the beauty in a small neighborhood family church. She might one day ask about the public financial records which clearly show that Resurrection does not have a very high income compared to the "amazing" churches. It would seem to me that some people only see the material in all that they do and all that they desire, It is a mystery to me as to why Ms. Tracey never mentioned God, love, family, charity, children, joy, communion, and all those things that according to the bible is taught and encouraged by God. By the way I did not give this church a 5 star rating because only God is perfect. read more
