We had a terrible experience with them as the management company for our unit. Many issues, ranging from poor description of the unit and misleading pictures. However base level of incompetence caused me to come here to warn as many people as possible. We booked a 6 person unit and they would give us only 2 keys for the unit. 6 nights stayed, but no cleaning supplies and no broom (annoying as we broke a glass). Clueless check in staff with no knowledge of the property. many other issues, but you should read all these negative reviews and STAY AWAY from them as management company. read more

Shuttle kicked me and my five-year old daughter out in the in the snow because it did not service our Retreatia address. "I don't go there boss!" Was told I needed to download the app and request an on-demand ride. When I did that, it said the on-demand shuttle was broken down and could not provide me a ride for at least 2 hrs. Beware-reservation canceled/terrible customer service I had made a reservation for an upcoming trip. Three days after I made my reservation I received an email stating Retreatia was canceling my reservation because "there was a glitch in the system that allowed me to book at a lower price". I was offered to either get a refund or move to a different condo-which was more outdated and farther from the ski area than my original condo choice. I called and was given no other explanation. I asked for management to call me regarding this. I was told by the reservation specialist "I will let them know, and hopefully they call you back". I did not hear back and called for the next 3 days, speaking to the same reservation specialist and still never received a phone call from management. I also replied to the email they sent 3 times requesting for management to contact me for more explanation. It has been three weeks and I have not received a phone call or email back. I wish I could give negative review for retreatia. We stayed at the "Dallas Chalet" I tried leaving a review on their website but their reviews get filtered. Explains why the last review on this house was 2/24/2021. Make sure to do a walk through. When we checked out I left behind my limited edition pink parade Stanley cup & my child's off brand tumbler. When retreatia was called they insured us that no one will be in the house until Monday and we can go back to the house and check to see if my cup is there. When I know for a fact I left it there. When we went back to check, the front door was left a foot open when we left we closed it & locked it. I turned off our bedroom & bathroom light it was turned on when we went back. The doors & drawers were left open & gone through. My cup was missing from where I had left it. Along with a pair of off brand scratched up sunglasses that mysteriously appeared in the middle of our stay there that didn't belong to any of us. Someone took my cup and their glasses back, but left my kids cup there. There is a vehicle in the garage that was unplugged our entire stay, and when we went back to check the house for my cup, it was plugged in. The reason I'm explaining all this is retreatia told us that no one has been in the house and clearly someone went through the house after we turned in the keys. We were told by the people across the street that they saw retreatia at the house after we left. All Heather King could tell me is it's not to her knowledge that someone went by after she's the one that said no one would be at the house until Monday. She also said it's out of her control and we have to get with management. They have a thief working for them. Seems like they assume people are already on the mountain pass or plane ride so they can just tell you oh nothing turned up. I think it's sad that someone came into the house during our stay when we were gone left sunglasses in the kitchen, came back after we dropped off keys took the sunglasses & my cup but can't pick up a condom out of the room. (When we got there, there was a condom wrapper in the kids room by the stair of the bunk bed.) Beautiful house but make sure you do a walk through before you leave. read more

Upon first arrival the customer service was great, the Eagles Nest Chalet townhouse was beautiful; very clean, enough room for everyone, we were all very happy. As the weekend went on we noticed the sauna was broken, the hot tub reached 101 degrees then started dropping eventually reaching 95 before we got out, the stove top igniter kept clicking when cooking on it, one of the blinds was broken, and the sliding screen door didn't lock, and there were spiders (big huge spiders) EVERYWHERE eek!! Overall, the townhouse itself was breathtaking. I loved the layout, beams, decor, all absolutely gorgeous however, with all the things that were broken and amenities unusable, I'm unsure we will be staying again. read more

The apartment we stayed in was extremely outdated. The shuttle service they offer was poor, we were waiting for long periods. The most concerning incident / we left ski goggles in the apartment, our error, but they denied on 2 separate occasions they were there. I called the General Manager and they were "found". To add insult to injury they sent them to us adding a $20 collection fee! Zero customer service, in fact their staff were incredibly rude and unprofessional. read more

I had booked a condo via the Steamboat Central Reservations and became the unfortunate soul to reserve a condo in which Retreatia is the property management company. I was to arrive at Steamboat on March 16th and on March 15th....Steamboat closed. This was in an email I received from Retreatia: Our leadership team, that is comprised of longtime locals in the Steamboat area, have decided that we must stick to our current cancellation policies, and at this time we are not offering refunds or credits. Well...isn't that nice, that you have nearly $1200 of MY money, I couldn't go on a trip that I wanted to go on (sure--go stay at a condo but not do anything?). Steamboat gave a full refund to folks, but Retreatia will not. I will NEVER EVER book through this company again. I had bought travel insurance, through their site as well, but am getting the run around from that company as well (today--sent to a mail box that was full). AVOID BOOKING WITH RETREATIA! I booked less than 48 hours before arrival and called the management immediately upon entering the condo. We simply had too much gear to haul up 3 flights as we are traveling around Colorado for a month. We asked to be moved to another unit or change the reservation to the required 2 night minimum that was available through AirBnB. The manager refused our request and was very rude. We tried to change the booking through AirBnB to a 2 night stay instead of 6 (which is withing AirBnB policy) and was again refused even after I told the manager we would only be there one night either way. She must get bonused on ripping off people and giving horrible customer service....this unit wasn't booked until the last moment and she could have easily taken the 2 night fees and helped accommodate a guest. $1200 for 1 night in a run down condo is criminal and we will be fighting this on our credit card. read more

We were so excited to have family and friends flying in for spring break ski vacation. Our own ski home on a different mountain wasn't big enough, so we rented ours out to another family and booked with Retreatia at Steamboat. When the mountain declared it was closed, the staff sounded like they understood and would be refunding. And extremely selfish, considering how so many people will be out of work and desperate during these next months. I contacted Retreatia the day I found out that I was exposed to COVID-19. I'm a single mom of a young child who works at a hospital in Fort Lauderdale. We are still the hotbed of infections in Florida. I immediately emailed them to cancel and let them know that I have been exposed to COVID-19 and needed to cancel. As a single mom with a young child and this was a huge financial cost to us. I emailed them over 8 times now. I received an email saying that I would receive a refund, but then they sent numerous emails saying that they would not issue any refunds. Disgusting way to treat healthcare workers! read more

Worst vacation ever :( Save your time and money! There are plenty of other professional companies in Steamboat to book through. I will attempt to keep this review brief, but there were many problems. First of all, we showed up to the unit and there was dust everywhere, coffee grounds in the coffee pot, potato chips on the floor, can wrappers and smashed candies on the floor, and togo containers from the previous guests. Our check in was on Saturday. We called retreatia on Saturday, no response. We called retreatia on Sunday, no response. We called retreatia on Monday, no response. We had to physically sit in the retreatia office and wait for someone to acknowledge us. Once someone spoke to us, she said she needed to "look into it." This was at 2:00pm. She got back to us at 5:00pm and offered to send a maid the next day. That's right, never mind the fact that we had to pick up other people's trash in the middle of a pandemic, and then sleep in filth for three nights and four days, the best they could do was offer to have it cleaned two days before our check out date. Now, under normal circumstances I would have accepted the offer to clean. We stayed here in August 2020, during the COVID pandemic. Retreatia's website promises "contactless" cleaning. In other words, their policy is to thoroughly clean the unit 24 hours in advance so that no one else is in the unit for the 24 hours prior to the guest check in. So, not only did they not provide a clean unit, they are also refusing to comply with the COVID policy of separating the cleaning crew from the guests. We are forced to put ourselves at risk for them to comply with their own policy. So, in short, not only was the unit disgusting, but the management is completely unresponsive. We have spent hours of our vacation trying to get a hold of them. Beyond the substandard cleanliness, the fire alarm was hanging from the ceiling. Also, the night after leaving Retreatia's office, we went back to the unit there were BATS in the unit. I spent hours on the phone with pest control to find out that they were living in the ceiling. This unit was not even ft for human habitation. For a company that is "dedicated to their guests" this response was pathetic. Don't book here unless you're willing to spend your entire vacation arguing with Retreatia. Even after hours of arguing, they've refused to provide any reasonable accommodation (another unit would've been acceptable). So, all in all. Retreatia has taken our money and our time. We will have to book a new place anyway. Truly despicable customer service. Breached their own contract and fraudulently offered a unit they couldn't provide. read more

Unit on 8/8/2020 was filthy, smoke detector was hanging off the celling, coffee grounds left in pot, previously chewed candy left on floor, chips and salsa container also on floor, ceiling fan absolutely filthy with dirt and dust all over it. We sent them photos of everything but to no avail. To top things off, unit had a BAT flying around INSIDE our room. Retreatia was given chance to address the cleanliness but did not offer an an acceptable solution - we had to chase them down and did not receive any empathy or compassion to address our situation in an acceptable manner given the circumstances they put us in. In what world is the customer responsible to clean the unit upon check-in - it should have been properly cleaned BEFORE we checked in. I said that was unacceptable and requested a manager call that day. No one called. Two days later I get a nasty voicemail, email, and text message, simultaneously, from the most rude manager named Favia stating that we are being evicted because we have a dog and used the pool twice? We do not have a dog. The property is advertised with a pool and nothing we aigned said we cant use the pool. When I asked for a refund or equivalent accommodations she actually laughed. Stay away from Retretia and unit Rockies 2126. Retretia will not help you resolve any issues during your stay, as they likely will not be open or answering phones, even on a holiday weekend! My family and I stayed at a Retretia property (Rockies 2126) during the weekend of Sat., August 24th and Sun., August 25th, 2019. We had a couple of major incidents during our stay, and Retretia's staff was absent and not able to resolve our issues. Despite several calls to their office and three visits to their office (which was said to be open on the weekends on their website and on Goggle Maps), no one was present to help resolve the following issues. My family and I checked out early due to 1). construction during the evening in the unit above us; 2). and most of all, the person below us in unit 2006 who was playing loud music from 10:30pm until 5am, and then again at 8am. About the construction: -I received a call from Liz at Retretia on August 5th stating that there would be construction on the unit above us during this week during the DAY. It was going on until 9pm on Fri., August 23rd, after my toddler went to bed. -Blaring music coming from the unit below the unit I rented (10:30pm on Fri., Aug. 23rd until 5am on Sat., Aug. 24th, and then resuming at 8am): -We checked out early because of the person right below our unit played very LOUD MUSIC AND BASS from 10:30pm until 5am, and then from 8am on that morning. -the music woke me up at 10:30pm. I went downstairs two different times, knocking on the door and requesting that they turn the music down. No answer and no change in the situation. I called the Steamboat police at 11:08pm and they said that they would come by and give a warning. -The music got louder after that. The tenant would turn down the music very low and then raise it to an incredibly loud level. It felt very hostile, and I did not feel safe staying in the unit. -I got a few hours of sleep, and my husband got 1-2 hours the whole night. The next day, I called the Retretia office multiple times and visited the office to speak with someone. No one answered the door, but someone had their pet dog there. An employee was present but refused to open the door and help me resolve this situation. During the next couple of weeks, I made multiple calls and sent emails to the Retretia office to explain the situation and why my family checked out two days early out of a four-night stay. We paid $613.29 for our four-night stay, and Retretia--despite their absence and ineptitude that entire weekend--only reimbursed $137.17. In an email from Kyle, a Retretia salesperson, I was told that Retretia is "simply a vacation rental company." Retretia clearly does not care about the renters' experiences and only cares about the bottom line of their homeowners. Rented a unit in Steamboat Springs for 5 nights. Reported unit to fire marshal for non-compliant entry door - 1" gap under door with no threshold or seals, which is a safety hazard (smoke/fire). Other unit doors had thresholds. Sewer water from upstairs unit leaking through bathroom ceiling numerous times during my stay. Maintenance could only leave a bucket to catch the stink water...still splattered on the floor around the toilet. Fake deadbolt in entry door. No way to secure entry door once inside except for push-button lock on door knob. No interior latch or chain...nothing. TV Dish receiver not working in living room, no remote for Dish receiver in bedroom. Screen door lock broken, so no security there. Random maintenance guy tried to enter...because there was no way to secure door from inside unit. Ill-fitting bed sheets constantly slipped off mattress. Bedroom door couldn't close all the way. Light bulbs burnt out in bathroom. Ice maker didn't work, but constantly made noise day & night. Oh, but it did have a gas fireplace...but based on the poor quality of maintenance I saw in the unit, there was no way I was going to turn it on. read more

Absolutely the worst property management company. We initially used them when we bought a condo in Steamboat Springs, since they had a good history of consistent bookings. In the first year they dumped our listing in January with a 60 day notice AND had blocked any potential bookings for the spring. While we were fortunate to find another company (high season), effectively they lost us $1000s in rental potential due to their timing. My family arrived at the condo La Casa 24 in the middle of a snow storm. Upon arrival they realized that the bedding consisted of a sheet and one thin blanket for each bed. The office informed them that was what the owner chose to provide because of Covid. They didn't want to wash each heavy blanket and comforter after each occupant. I was always under the impression that everything was always washed....Covid or not! So, they slept with with sweaters on and turned up the heat. They soon discovered that neither door would shut or lock, very uncomfortable during the night. Next day said they would send some one....never did....for the 4 day stay! Would you enjoy sleeping at night, skiing all day leaving the kids alone while you went out for a drink. with the doors open?..No you wouldn't and they didn't. So much for a fantastic Christmas gift. BTW they office workers were very nice, but did nothing! I guess the one star represents the nice location! read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT Our encounter with Retreatia was on June 15, 2018. If there was a negative 10 rating I would choose it. We had just arrived in Steamboat and our waitress at a local restaurant told us that she also worked at Retreatia and if we stopped by the office the next day they would be able to find us a new or newly renovated weekly rental. We did stop by the office: 1) It became clear that the office manager and the new employee were experiencing difficulty navigating a new software system. 2) We clearly specified to the agents that we wanted a newly renovated, newly painted, tiled, and not carpeted. 3) The less experienced employee switched the unit we had agreed on to another unit on a higher floor - never mentioning that this unit had not been recently renovated. 4) At 4:30 pm, we arrived at the unit. The key was not in the box as described and we had to wait 30 minutes for it to be delivered. Once we saw the unit it wasn't as the agent or pictures described, and it smelled stale and of mold. 5) We did not accept the key. We never stayed in that or ANY unit managed by Retreatia, as we lacked confidence to continue any dealings with that establishment. We sought other lodging for the week. Finally, I am still in dispute with Retreatia and my credit card company to reverse the $1164.13 charge for a week rental that we never used. read more

After staying at many different condos at the Ptarmigan House over the last 30 years, this is the first time we have stayed in one that is managed by Retreatia. After checking in, I called about the small amount of supplies (1 small bar of soap) and they said it was up to use to furnish additional soap, toilet paper, etc. That evening we were unable to get the humidifier working so I called the next day and was told they didn't have any but they would tell the owner. Very poor service and not accommodating in any way, Not way to run a company. This condo was a little less expensive than other one bedrooms we have rented in the past and I guess you get what you pay for. We will not be renting from Retreatia in the future. read more

I rented the 10-bedroom Churchill Grand for 7 nights in July. DO NOT RENT this place in the summer. In addition to no air conditioning, there are no fans and the windows barely open (small crank windows near the ground that swing up/out to prevent rain from coming in), so it was impossible to get a cross-breeze and the house was sweltering even when the outside temperature dropped at night. We all had difficulty sleeping and dinner time was miserable even when we kept the shades closed all day. Retreatia totally misrepresented the property by not disclosing the construction next door, which completey ruined the view and rendered the decks and hot tub on one one side unusable because of the noise, dust and construction workers peering down onto the decks. There were often 10+ cars blocking the road in and out of the house. The manager promised me consideration, but the owners would not honor our agreement. Totally unprofessional and dishonest!!!! I wrote a review on their website and of course, they will not post it. We also rented 3 condos nearby from Retreatia. In one case, they backed out of our contract because the owner decided to renovate the condo (they did provide another condo but it was farther away than desired). All 3 of the condos had issues (e.g., TVs and dishwashers not working). read more

Used this company for a rental weekend in Steamboat (in a very nice, high end property) for myself and 8 friends. Will not ever use again. Reservation process was simple and easy. Property was gorgeous (Highmark Penthouse). Problem, however, with the air conditioning. We were there in the summer in 90 degree weather. There was no AC in the bedrooms or in the loft area. We were all sleeping in saunas and one person who was in the back bedroom (which was admitted by one of the property managers as being a bedroom which doesn't get air flow) ended up sleeping on the couch each night. The loft was unbearably hot and stuffy. We did sleep with the patio doors open to get some air up there at night. Maintenance was aware of the issue when we checked in. I made a call halfway through our stay and they supposedly came out and adjusted the vents, however that only fixed the AC in the front bedroom; none of the other rooms were helped by this. Management keeps "picking fights" with me over my 3-star VRBO property review and over my concerns. They're saying the AC wasn't on, that there is adequate AC in there, etc. They seem pretty dead set on their own assumptions and don't truly want to hear about concerns from clients. That's fine, I'll simply take my business elsewhere. There are several other property mgmt companies in steamboat. I've had great experience with Pioneer Ridge, for example. I do not recommend using Retreatia. I certainly will not be using them ever again. read more

Our condo apparently had a leak and we were told 15 minutes before arriving into Steamboat. We were told there was a risk of mold even though they had just found the leak that day. They wanted to put us in a different rental without any of the accommodations we had booked the original property. They would not refund the difference of the lower cost option we ended up taking - they provided nothing in the way of customer service to make up for the inconvenience or the deficit of the place we had to take based on 0 availability. They were defensive, unorganized, and rude when I asked for the difference be credited back to me. It was $300 and they did nothing. After reading of a similar situation on a different review I am inclined to think there was never a leak but a different customer who paid more. These guys are simply awful! read more

Their strict cancellation policy is unconscionable when travelers were heeding the concerns of locals to stay away, mountain and restaurants shutting down, WHO pandemic declaration, national emergency, and calls by the governor for out of state travelers to stay away from mountain towns and cancel spring break travel. The abusive, if not fraudulent practice of charging service and cleaning fees for renters who never checked into units should be the target of lawsuits by all involved. Shameful. Our family had booked a week stay with retreatia for our spring break. Upon arriving to steamboat last Saturday the governor of Colorado ordered all ski areas to close leaving us with nothing to do. The location was wonderful, right in the middle of town, and our communication with Retreatia was good but furniture was worn and mattresses were in horrible condition. The master bed mattress was so saggy, I felt like I was sleeping in a hammock. I had to put blankets and towels between the mattress and box spring to prop it up so my husband and I weren't sleeping on top of each other. It was one of the worst weeks of sleep I've had and certainly not what I would have expected for the price. It is well past time to replace the mattresses. read more
