My family…read morestayed at the Saddle Creek Townhome (4 bed/4 bath) Although the condo is cozy and accommodates a descent amount of people, that's about all there is to it! When our family arrived, we baked a pizza and cooked hamburger meet on the stove. Shortly after, we started smelling something AWFUL. It was so bad that we decided to give management a call and head into town for a bit, hoping that it passes. We get a call back from management saying, in their own words, "There is a MAJOR gas leak, it was so bad that the tech who came in with the detector has never seen it this bad." Of course, we immediately start worrying. What would have happened if we didn't call and continued cooking all weekend, did we save our lives, did we save their condo? Needless to say, it made for a nightmare of a night. The management offered to move us to a 2 bedroom condo, knowing that we had 7 guests to accommodate. Since that wouldn't work, our family and the management agreed on getting 75% back of the price of our stay. Unfortunately, we had to go buy an electric skillet and microwave our entire thanksgiving meal ---- Now that we are home, management is accusing us of using the oven, saying they "have" to believe we turned the gas back on because of the food they found in the oven. Keep in mind, every door to that type of equipment is fully locked, and why in our right minds would we risk something like that? With this accusation, they are now refusing to refund us the agreed upon amount. On top of all this mess, they suddenly just sent us a charge of $70 for a tech having to come out "after hours!!!" If you decide to book through Christie Resorts, be sure you know all the hidden charges they may try to charge you with. According to Courtney, she let me know that my family should feel free to call her at anytime if something were to go wrong, forgetting to mention that we will be charged if a tech needs to come out. While the condo looks nice and cozy, be careful with the management! We've stayed in Steamboat before through other management companies and never had a problem. Michael with Retreatia is one awesome company to look into. BE CAREFUL with Christie Resorts!

My Stay - Mid September - Solo -…read more Pets NOPE SO I left puppy and my nephews while visiting Ft Collins. I decided to extend my visit with my family and take a little road trip to steamboat and I am so glad that I did. It is a wonderful little town. I had a fantastic time. Location - excellent! Close to lots of fun stuff... if I were staying in steamboat I would either stay right Downtown or in this location if I were going to be snowboarding! There was a really good bike rental place nearby downstairs and a couple of great restaurants. This is at the base of the mountain that has the lifts up to the top for the sunset Happy Hour THAT I MISSED boo bc it wasn't going on Thursday's only Sunday. Food/Drink - great bar and they have a little store coffee shop on site that had lots of stuff. I wish in ate more then breakfast BECAUSE my BK was so great I loved it bacon / biscuits and gravy all cooked perfectly and the bar was good and open late bc of the conference going on. Rooms... ok meh I can say for the price I paid I super scored bc I paid 198.00 for a 5-700 or more a night room but I was there off season on a Tuesday/ Wednesday. It probably goes for 1200.00 during season. It was very very clean and had a cabin feel to it. I liked the Coffee Service and I thought the closet space was great. It was a one bedroom condo. I liked the bathroom and I thought that amenities were all satisfactory but nothing really blew me away. I especially hated the TV situation because a resort like this, not to have any streaming like you can't have any Netflix or anything like that, but I don't know. I guess it wasn't that big of a deal in hindsight. Business center : there really isn't one??? I had to work while I was there and I was really disappointed for resort of this size not to have anywhere to work. There was a little Eating / dining area off of the coffee shop little store thingy, but it was very uncomfortable Internet : I had absolutely no problems with the Internet during my stay. It was very fast and efficient. Shuttle: they had a great on-site shuttle that you could download an app and just have the shuttle take you wherever you wanted to go pretty much. It goes I think from like 10 to 10 at night or maybe 10 to 9 I also got an Uber one night and it came really fast. Wine store downstairs around the corner: man I wish I knew about this. I only discovered it on my second night and there's a really really great wine store with a good selection. Fun Things I did : I took a balloon trip that was fantastic. I loved it and couldn't recommend it anymore and the location is about seven minutes from the hotel. It's a must do. I rented an electric bike and rode that Downtown and went shopping and visited some happy hours along the river and that was an exceptional day. I loved it and I discovered this restaurant that was my favorite restaurant there of all the restaurants called Laundry, I live in Newport Beach CA - if this was in my neighborhood I would be a frequent flyer lol!! Riverside Restaurants/Happy Hour: This city does a proper happy hour lol all the restaurants participate and I especially enjoyed visiting all of the restaurants along the river! My fav was E3 chophouse - the outside was really beautiful Hat Store: I know random right!! "Steamboat Hatter" ... I've never wanted a hat more than the hats I saw in the store and on their Instagram page, but to custom order one it takes about three months they do have a lot of stock and a lot of options in store. It was just kind of pricey and I wasn't prepared to sell out all that cash, but I feel like a hat from this place is on my list of things to do in my life lol... I also stayed an extra night at a cheap motel that I really loved in downtown too that allows pets I would probably stay at next time I visit. OVERALL: grateful to have stayed at such a nice place during the Fall, the place was great and one thing I forgot to mention is that all of my interactions with the staff were exceptional and that goes a long way!! When we needed extra towels or toilet paper, the staff came to our unit in less than 20 minutes. We stayed at other ski in/out condos in the past (for the same price) and we've experienced better. The unit is very close to the Gondola, so that was great! The hot tub is basically in the parking lot. The "ski closet" only fit one snowboard and 1 set of skis and we're not supposed to bring our snow equipment into the condo. (Our condo was 3 bedroom so we'd expect a larger storage area for equipment.) The owners of this condo have a lot of personal photos (including them dressed up as scary clowns) around the home. Also, we had two small children with us and there's some inappropriate artwork on the walls. There's a HUGE buffalo head above the fireplace. I don't mind the guns in shadow boxes all over the home but some people might not like that. The furniture is HUGE and clunky and there's too much big furniture all over the unit. We pushed and stacked furniture out of the way so we could walk around. There's way too much decorative items around the condo and every room (including the closets) are very cluttered. The light switches for each room are not in the room with the light. (The dining room light switch is in the hallway near the entrance to the condo.) Each room has its own thermostat which I guess is nice so each person can control their own temperature, but for me it was a pain because I had to go to each room to set the temperature to warm up the house when I arrived before everyone else. The electric stove takes FOREVER to heat it and it was really challenging to cook on the stove. The "non-stick" pans should be replaced; every time we cooked, a lot of the food was stuck to the pan. PLUSES: There's a washer and dryer in the unit and we didn't have any issues with them. The dishwasher and oven worked great. There's 3 full bathrooms in the unit. Overall, I would not stay here again because for the same price, I can stay at Torian Plum and have more of the amenities we desire.

Even though there is no AC (summer visit), the cross-breeze and location did not allow the condo to get much about 75 F even with temps around 98 F outside. It has a cozy hot-tub and firepit area. Parking is easy and plentiful, and right in front of the building. There is a grocery and Mexican restaurant across the street, and Gondola Square is less than a 3 minute walk away. We loved it, and we'll be back for sure!
