Classic burger and fries
Marla N.

Service was fantastic. Our waitress was friendly, offered great suggestions and checked on us without being overbearing. The restaurant has quirky and interesting artwork throughout. The menu has a huge variety from soups & salads to burgers & sandwiches to pasta and stir fr, along with their selection of brews, wine and cocktails. We tried the classic burger and Thai peanut stir fry. The burger was cooked as requested, juicy and just the right size. The accompanying fries were just the right crispness and saltiness. The stir fry dish was really flavorful with lots of veggies, chicken and rice. The serving size was enough to bring home for another meal! I'm looking forward to going back and checking out their Sunday brunch soon.

Reuben and Fries

Had a very disappointing experience with Reunion. $15-16 sandwiches (prices on their website are not completely up to date). The reuben was dry and somehow oily at the same time. The fries were dry. The caprese sandwich was the best item but the bread was soggy to the point of falling apart. They now charge an extra $1 PER ITEM for takeout. AND they forgot the fries to one of the sandwiches. They offered ketchup, which I agreed to, but didn't actually include any. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this place.

The Devil's Eggs

It was a rainy day so I took shelter in Reunion. As I sauntered my way to a table, I was very thankful to dry off and feel secure. Very safe restaurant. Absolutely stunning decor. Really took my breath away. The interior has many flavorful paintings and televisions. Could be a great spot to catch the big game! Very clean too. A very cool spot. As it says in the name, this is a brewery, but there are many options. There's a lot to choose from and plenty for next time. There's also a ton of cuisine options, ranging from burgers to tacos to pizza. The service is super fast and friendly. Trust me, you won't be waiting long for food or drinks. I ended up getting egg. Egg was good.

Although ReUnion isn't quite four stars at the moment on Yelp, trust the most recent Yelpers who have consistently given ReUnion five stars. They are doing good things over here. I underestimated Reunion Brewery as "another place with pub food in Iowa City." It didn't even make my list of places to try eating at until some family friends asked to meet us there for dinner. OH MY YUM. Our server, Caiden (I think), did a stellar job caring for our party of seven. He skillfully knew when to refill drinks and when to ask for our food orders without interrupting our conversation. He remembered to upsell with desserts, which was a major plus for those of us who choose to eat the desserts. Nothing on the menu popped out at us but everyone was part of the clean plate club-- a phenomenal sign of delicious food. The falafel tacos, Caprese on focaccia, chicken BLT on focaccia, reunion chopped Cobb salad, and the brew pub pretzel were all among dishes we ordered and would endorse. Each sandwich comes with fries (or you can upgrade for cheese curds and some other sides). I can comfortably endorse the massive cheese curds too. Another quick note that the focaccia comes from Bread Garden Market-- you know it's fresh and delicious! DO NOT SKIP DESSERT. We had a turtle cheese, peanut butter cheesecake, and some sort of oatmeal pie with mouth-watering cinnamon ice cream. Geez, all of the treats were worth ordering again. I will happily add this to my list of places I'd recommend our friends to take their families for food. There's even a little gum ball game that I watched two children adore. At Reunion, there is something for everyone!

Dessert menu

Thank you for having a large selection of gluten-free options...including desserts!! My gluten-free pizza crust was absolutely delicious!!

I had the Shrimp Fra Diavold and my wife had the Salmon BLT. Both were excellent! We have been here many times and these two dishes are amount our favorites. My shrimp Fra Diavold was not as spicy this time and I much prefer this less spicy version.

Tasty beers. Prompt pleasant service. Enjoyed the pizza; it has a corn meal Dustin g making it especially flavorful and crisp.

New to the area and was struggling to find Noilly Prat Dry Vermouth for cooking. (Side note; if you…read morehaven't tried Noilly Prat, I highly recommend as this stuff is amazing.) After calling multiple stores, including requesting a special order from Hy-Vee two separate times only to be ignored, I about gave up. These guys came through, ordering a case of this vermouth. Customer experience matters and this experience solidifies me not only being a return customer but also recommending this business.

On day seven hundred of social distancing, I needed booze…read more (Ok... really it was day 18. Our supply was low and the weekend was near. Plus I have kids, that I am attempting to 'school' in some fashion during this who pandemic thing. I knew I lacked patience as a human... I now know with absolute certainty I do as a teacher, too. And before you ask-- while I do not believe it is drinking alone when your kids are there-- this is for afterwards. Call it a reward for a job well done? Or perhaps a beverage to wash away the stresses of the day.) I started to explore my potential zero contact options in the area. I realllllly wanted to order online and drive on over to have it loaded in my vehicle. I tend to linger when buying adult beverages and don't make up my mind in a timely manner. There are just SO many options, ya know?! I thought I'd end up using my local grocery store for this beer... margarita... rum... liquid sanity run. But alas, Bootleggin Barzini's allows you to order online! Right on. #supportsmallbusinesses Well, their selection is superb. (I knew that already though, having frequented this biz at least a dozen times before-- pre-pandemic.) But what surprised me is while a lot of their inventory was OBVIOUSLY not online, they had a lot of local craft beers and not so local craft beers ready for purchase. (Even some Big Grove ones I didn't even know were a thing.) I filled my cart. Had the option to pay in person or online. (Hello. Zero contact.) And then the option of picking up anytime between 11-10P. I selected my time. Showed up then. A co-owner was waiting outside the door for me... loaded my liquid rewards in my SUV and away I went. I think their pricing is always a bit high but that being said, whether it is offering carryout booze or having a supremely knowledgeable staff member talking beer with you-- the service is high at Bootleggin Barzini's. Always. They also have adult beverages that you can't find elsewhere in the area... so take that into account for the extra couple of dollars per six pack. I know I'll be back.

The manager here is a connoisseur of finer beverages and the place shows it. Upon entering you're greeted by plenty of wine. Highfaluntin bottles to three buck chuck and all things in between. To the back right is an amazing selection of larger bottles of microbrews that range from light to dark, to fruity to holly. Second only to Jon's and a couple spots in Seattle in variety and with a taste for any palate. To the left in the back are the six packs that again range from known to mysterious. The management is making a concerted effort to rotate the selection and seriously, it's rad. They're building the Iowa microbrew selection and have a great variety of regional and beyond brews. Best part is they'll often sell them individually. Liquor selection is good, however, the best part is that the manager will take requests. He's got some great connections and scores some tough regional favorites. Overall, I've been very impressed with the selection and service. A close second to Jon's and on par with Barzini's. Well played Hyvee!
