I drove over an hour/50+ miles to Revelation in Fit and I'd do it again! I loved the fact that I could make an appointment online. I also was able to find paid street parking easily. I learned that this location is the HQ and has a larger stock than the SF store, so I'm glad I came to this one. My fitter, Ani, was amazing! Ani supported me emotionally and physically while I probably tried on more than 20 bras. I never felt rushed or judged. I have a bra that fits me and my body for the first time in my 29 years! I typically go to the SF location but live in the East Bay now so decided to give this location a try. Staff were friendly and helpful but I feel like the SF location has so much more stock compared to the Oakland one--I was basically done with my fitting in under 30 minutes. I was really in the market to buy new bras and was hoping to do so; asked what other options they have in my preferred styles but it also would have been helpful to have been shown other styles/trends as I typically end up buying things that I didn't think would look good on me or not the typical things I would buy for myself. The person helping me out also came in to the room maybe 2-3x during the 30 min fitting and considering I get pretty shy when trying on bras, it would have been helpful to get a little bit more hands on help/suggestion (no pun intended). Best bra place I've ever been to (for both locations, this one and their flagship Oakland one). And I've done my research - I'll include details on where i found the best information below. Important to know: * As of December 2023, they require masks. They provide some at the entrance if you don't have one. * You also might want to bring some cash to tip your fitter because they go above and beyond. They'll also provide a Venmo as well in case you don't carry cash. * They recommend making an appointment on their website. I've always done a walk-in and had good luck, but make one especially if you're from out of town and you want to make sure. * As of December 2023, they have a Yelp 5% off deal for checking in. So many places will measure you and put you in your sister size, typically a much lower or higher band size because they don't carry below a 34 or higher than a 40 or a much higher or lower cup size because they only carry up to DD. Or both. Not this place. They have over 160 sizes IN STOCK. beautiful bras. They are high end. Expect to spend a bit. Most bras are probably between $70-$90 in my experience, but I've purchased one that's $140 and one that's closer to $50. It's hard to make decisions when you finally find some that fit, especially if you're like me and you've tried the whole ordering-and-returning bras online. Prior to visiting Revelation in Fit, I had tried more than 100 bras. Service is amazing and they are truly knowledgeable (unlike a lot of places I've been where they're just so confident and charismatic that they *seem* like it but their priority is just making a sale). I've done extensive research on the "A bra that fits" calculator https://www.abrathatfits.org/calculator.php and their Reddit and Facebook groups of the same name. While I was well informed about what I needed, I desperately needed to Try.Them.On. I live about 3 hours away and it's worth it. I've been to both the San Francisco and their flagship Oakland location. Both are amazing, but Oakland is bigger and has more selection, so since they're about the same in terms of distance for me, I'd choose the Oakland one when possible. My fitter was Veronica this time (my second time getting fitted), and she truly was able to get me a perfect fit. The first time was close to perfect, but Veronica nailed the specifics and was able to refine my first fitting. Example of just how specialized she got: my biggest problem is that in my actual size, bras tend to cut into my arm/armpit. She was able to determine that the volume of my actual size was accurate, but that to get the fit that doesn't cut into me, I pretty much universally needed to go with bras are a cup-size down but that run a cup size larger due to my shape. Mind. Blown! She also was able to bring me brands that deliberately planned to make that area more comfortable with softer fabrics with more give. I want to bring every person who where's a bra or wants to to this place. This place has my enthusiastic and unequivocal endorsement. I've become a bravangelist, but don't worry - I have never felt any pressure to make a purchase from the fitters. If you find that you're someone who is prone to feeling pressured, you might come in with the expectation that you aren't going to purchase *today* just to remove all pressure from yourself (I do this for myself when I go wine tasting because I know I'll think I like the wines more than I actually do after just one of the tastings LOL) A note on tipping: I'm exhausted with tipping expectations being everywhere now and often in inappropriate places as I'm sure many can relate to, but I have no qualms about tipping in this instance as it's exactly the scenario where tipping would be appropriate. It's been some years since I have worn a non-nursing bra. But after 4 years of having kids and nursing back to back, it was time for mama to do something for herself! Great selection, but what I really say stands out here, are the attentive and kind staff. They made me feel completely comfortable shopping for a bra. They always asked consent before adjusting various styles. Ultimately, they found me a style (I would have never suspected I would have liked!) that made me feel completely confident. I also appreciate the fact that they will keep a list of bras you liked but decided not to buy. Make sure to tip your bra fitting specialist. While not necessary, this really is why I came here rather than going somewhere else. They didn't tell me that NONE of the products I was purchasing were eligible for returns, even if completely unworn. Left a sour taste in my mouth for what was previously a nice shopping experience. I have really large, heavy, sagging beauties and I tried on bras today that made me feel 21 again! The professionals there are kind, very informative and are zealous in getting you in the right band and cup size. I was in the shop for over an hour today and the service I received from first Mo and then Corine was top tier. Corine reinforced to me that there was nothing wrong with the my body that it was the bra! I highly recommend this business and hope they're around in Oakland for years to come! Has anyone seen a tip jar in a women's dressing room? I did at Revelation in Fit, a women's lingerie store on Piedmont Ave. It was a transparent plastic box on the wall and prominently labeled, "TIPS". While I was in the dressing room, the clerk came in and hung a sign on a hook above the tip jar saying, "just so you will know who is taking care of you." Her name was there along with a note saying, if I didn't have cash for a tip, I shouldn't worry and she gave me her Venmo/Zelle name. Really? There I am, trying on bras and the woman who fitted and is bringing them to me is asking me for a tip. I did not leave one or send anything electronically. To add insult to injury, the clerk told me she would call me to let me know if she could get what I needed from their other store. That was a week ago. I'm still waiting. read more

I am deeply obsessed with this place, for the following reasons: 1. Personal attention + bra knowledge. Book an appointment (or be like me and chance a walk-in, which worked out!), and a fitter will not only size you but can help you find bras that really work for your breast shape. I was extremely grateful for the continued support (no pun intended) throughout my shop. She was super knowledgable about brands and was able to pull bras that fit well. My fitter helped me make sure straps were in the right space, pointed out where bras weren't fitting, and made sure I left with bras I was DELIGHTED with, rather than settling for. 2. Range of price points. I loved being able to pick a few different bras (okay, 6 different bras) at different price points -- it made the number of bras affordable. 3. Range of selection. They. Have. So. Many. Bras. I honestly wasn't exactly sure what I wanted beyond "dear lord a bra that fits since my body changed shape during the pandemic" and they were really patient with my figuring it out. They have unlined, padded, bralettes, lace, not fancy, matching sets, sports, and sooooooo many sizes. 4. The right sized bra made me feel wayyyyy better about myself. Okay, this sounds silly but I had started to loathe putting on a bra -- and since I am choosing to exist in this society in the way I do, bras are sometimes important (ps: smash the patriarchy). For months I have routinely been like, "I would rather be tasked with running across 8 lanes of freeway traffic than put a fucking bra on." But once I figured out the issue was the size, I literally danced with joy in a bra that fit. Unless you've struggled to find a good fit, received attitude, limited options and inflated prices just trying to find a bra in your size; you might not fully appreciate just how great this place is! I've been coming here for years and they have never disappointed me. They have a file with my previous purchases. Robin, the owner helped me and my daughter today and I was blown away by her customer focus, knowledge, patience, experience and good nature. It took a REALLY dreaded experience for my daughter and turned it into something akin to getting our nails done. Ok. Maybe that goes a little too far. After lockdown, I realized I hadn't bought any new bras in ages and that the ones I had were worn down and didn't fit well anymore. The first time I went, the person fitting me kept suggesting things that didn't fit me well at all, and I walked away demoralized and wondering if I was better off going to a department store. I ended up giving it another try recently and this time, Synita helped me out. She was attentive, kind, and amazing at selecting things that were super comfortable and supportive, and I appreciated her help so much! Bra shopping was painless with her and I walked away with several purchases that I felt were reasonably priced ($50 range) for quality bras that aren't going to fall apart in 2 seconds. The value of this experience for me was in getting help understanding how a bra should properly fit me. I really wasn't sure and I felt more confident after getting feedback about it. I don't regret going because of the value of this information. That said, I won't ever go back because of how much sales pressure I felt. They didn't have a bra in stock that I really liked (I tried many, but nothing was quite right), and I felt a lot of pressure to buy anyway. It's in an intimate environment where there is no easy way to gracefully bow out for someone who is uncomfortable really pushing back. I ended up spending $$$ on products I am not really happy with and I left feeling very stressed, such that I spent a while in my car decompressing afterwards before leaving. A month later, I have not worn any of the items I purchased. I think of it as a very expensive consultation on bra sizing that will help me better prepared to buy products I like somewhere else. This was worthwhile for me, but if you don't need that kind of support, go prepared to defend your "no" if you don't find what you are looking for. read more

I was in dire need of boob help. I recently lost 180 pounds and I am left with deflated water sacks. (If you know, you know) I found this place while looking for a bra maker. They have fitting appointments that you can make free of charge. Left me tell you the level of care these ladies put in to find not only the correct fit for you but something that makes them look amazing. I highly recommend this place. They are on the higher end $$$. But not any more then you would pay at V.S. or Layne Bryant. I tried on about 30 bras and left with 4 due to budget. I believe you can also drop in. Peaking is a bit tricky but, there are tons of other shops to visit as well. I hope this helps someone who needs my kind of help. read more

I've shopped here a few times and have been pleased each time with the experience. Each time I feel I get a good fit (sometimes hard to do with a 34 F, especially if you want a bra that doesn't double as a tent). The store is really nicely decorated, clean, not super crowded or rigged with horrible florescent lighting as most department stores are. Every staff person I have ever interacted with has known their stuff, and has not run away laughing when I request a bra that will defy gravity and get the girls up closer to Jesus. My one and only compliant is that on occasion they are a little short in stock for the more, uh, uncommon sizes like myself. A strapless bras, for instance, which I'll admit is not something that most people in my size would even bother looking for, was very hard to come by the other day. Still, for a store that prides itself on serving those of us more ample bosomed folks, it would be nice to have more than one option. I'm large chested which makes finding a beautiful and well-fitted bra a complicated process. Ever since I found this store I have not bought bras anywhere else. The selection, the abundance of sizes is fantastic, but nothing compares to the amazing customer service and personal attention I've received on every visit....except the last one. I made an appointment at the Oakland store earlier this year or last year, I don't recall exactly. I can say with certainty that it was after the mask requirement was lifted in Alameda County. Let me assure you - I am not an anti-mask, anti-vaccine, anti-pandemic restrictions person in any way, shape or form. The sales person during my last visit wasn't someone I've ever interacted with previously. I put the mask on as asked. It didn't fully cover my nose. Before even so much as greeting me, she started telling me that I had to properly put on the mask because everyone is required to wear it in the store. I told her that the mask is covering my mouth and nose, but to have it fully cover my nose will make it impossible to continue with my appointment. I suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome and heat anywhere near my face, including hot air that from my mouth inside the mask will bring on an immediate fatigue episode and will require me to stop all activity. I told her that I am vaccinated, boosted, completely free of symptoms and will gladly maintain distance. From this point on she pretty much ignored me. I think she brought me one or two bras, never checked back, never offered other choices. At this point, I left since the experience I came in for wasn't going to happen. Prior to writing this review I reached out to the store and in response I received a reply from the owner telling me that the masks are still required and not a word or an apology for the lack of service I received or proposing possible accommodations... nothing. Drove all the way here, paid for parking, only to be turned away and told that it's appointment only fittings now. So now I have an hour and a half drive back home empty handed. Highly recommended - everyone should get a bra fitting with someone who knows what they are talking about. Nailah and Veronica were extremely attentive and gave very thoughtful advice. I must have tried on at least 20 bras but I was never under the pressure to purchase anything. They gave me advice on how bras should fit, what to look for, how bands and straps function together and I came away with 3 beautiful bras that were both functional and pretty. The prices aren't too bad and completely worth the spend given that I have so many that I've only worn once. I will try on the bras for the next 2 weeks and see how they sit. I walked in without an appointment Thursday at noon and was luckily able to be helped right away. It was my first time getting fitted, really not as awkward as I thought it would be. Synita was so helpful in picking out a variety of bras for me to try, great selection! I wasn't completely satisfied with any particular one but I mentioned to her what I wanted and she was able to recommend me one that actually worked really well for me! I read Walk ins were accepted but when I arrived I was told not on this particular day ( Sunday so maybe it's a busy appointment day) however a woman hearing my disappointment came out and said it would be no problem and she was able to help. Lovely decorated shop. I was shown to a dressing room. Robyn introduced herself and explained what the process would be. I absolutely appreciated and loved the entire experience. I found the many styles and colors Robyn chose were great. I also thought that the price wasn't a huge difference from the lingerie section at a department store where I generally can not find my size and more often than not when I order from that store I end up back there making a return. Which after I went through this with 4 different bras from 2 different stores recently I looked into locating a specialized shop and found Revelation! So a few dollars more for, and I promise you that you won't find these colors and fit in the usual stores, is definitely worth it. I'm so happy and Robyn was a gem to work with. Are used to think of this place is being the zenith of fabulosity but rats! What happened? For one thing they've moved up the street into a kinda inelegant space. Their window is hideous it all looks super tacky! I am so disappointed. It makes me afraid to go through the hassle of trying to get in there and just buy a dang bra. I bought some things at Revelation during the worst of the lockdown and they were super weird but I just put that down to how freaky the whole lockdown thing was and that that was that. This seems to be something else. I have bought almost all of my lingerie here since they opened and I really throw down but damn. It doesn't have a posh, lush-luxe feel to it and if you're gonna throw down that much money for lingerie, you want to feel like you're indulging yourself and feel glamorous not like you're getting a burrito at the gas station because it happens to be there. Their website is not particularly functional. I want to see what they have in stock now, what's on sale, what can I order online, what are their store hours and everything takes a little work to get to. I really want you guys to be successful. My partner stopped in to buy me a Valentine's Day present after happening by this shop. Knew my size and relayed it to the sales person. The shop person told my partner to have me come in for a fitting, and was otherwise completely unhelpful. My partner walked out. NO SALE!! At 40-something years old, I have had countless bra fittings over the years, and I am fully aware of my damn bra size. Clearly this shop couldn't be bothered to help out a potential customer trying to buy a gift for their beloved. I feel sorry for anyone who may try to buy a surprise gift at this store, cuz they are not at all helpful!! Clearly they've well earned their one-star Yelp average, for crap service. Brick and mortars boutiques don't stay open for this very reason. I'll stick to purchasing my bras online, where I don't have to deal with weird, unhelpful "customer service." read more

I came here for a fitting today and was disappointed with my experience overall. I'm 34 weeks (basically 8 months) pregnant and have been buying bigger and bigger bras as things have progressed, but have been having more challenges as of late finding comfortable bras that fit well. I figured that actually going somewhere to get fitted might help and their Yelp page makes it seem like they're equipped to help with maternity bras, so I made an appointment. I was pleased to see that they are strict in enforcing COVID safety standards, so that made me feel more comfortable being indoors for a while than I'd otherwise feel, but that's where my positive experiences ended. The girl who tried to fit me measured me and then tried to put me into underwire bras which if you've ever been pregnant you'll know aren't really an option. She then didn't really know what to do and wasn't really sure how to help me, which was both frustrating and disappointing. I'd expect the staff at a place like this to be better trained in working with maternity/nursing bras and not just standard bras. Additionally, the bras she pulled weren't very practical (in my perspective) for just basic daily bras, they were more cute/sexy things which are fun sure but aren't practical for daily life. TL;DR This isn't the spot if you're looking for maternity bras or if you want standard basic bras. read more

This place has an amazing selection of bras for busty ladies like myself. I went in for a bra fitting on a Saturday at 430. They close at 6. The lady was somewhat nice who helped me. She obviously thought I was suspicious, because she followed me to the bathroom when I asked to use it. She also kept popping her head into the dressing room I think she thought I was going to steal some thing. Maybe she was trying to move quickly because the store was going to close soon I don't know but she made me feel very uncomfortable. Their return policy is restrictive. You have to return a bra within 14 days it cannot be worn and has to have the attached tags. I felt so uncomfortable after being followed to the bathroom and assumed I was going to steal some things that I didn't even want to return a bra that actually broke on me within the first week I wore it.
