I had a very poor experience with "The Wiz" Plumbing. We hired them to clear a blockage in our…read moresewer line and fix some leaking pipes under our house (same bathroom). After checking out the situation, "The Wiz" told us that there was not a leak under our house, and that the leak was actually under our sink. They then replaced a small joint pipe under the sink and cleaned out the stoppage in the line. They mentioned that our plumbing in that bathroom was not up to code, which we already knew, but they did not recommend what needed to be done to update it, or mention how this would affect our plumbing. While doing this, they discovered our toilet was installed without a flange. We had an extra one in our work shed, which they did install for us, free of charge. That was pretty much the only work they did for us that we were satisfied with. Almost immediately after they left, we heard running water under our house, and realized it was still leaking under there. We also realized that the new joint pipe they replaced was also leaking! We called them back and they basically said 'tough luck, nothing we did is under warranty since your plumbing is not up to code'. They would not even stand behind the new pipe they had installed! We then did some research on Yelp and called a reputable plumber, with good reviews, and had them out to take a look. The new plumber, after 5 minutes of looking at the plumbing, told us that there was a missing pipe cap under our house, which was the reason it was still leaking. He was surprised that "The Wiz" had not noticed this, since it was plain as day to a plumber. He also told us that we needed a vent pipe, which was our primary problem. Our new plumber then fixed both problems, for virtually the same price that the Wiz had charged us for "who knows what." Our key take away from this was that you should always fully research a company before having them do repairs on your house. Also, a warranty is key! Our new plumber gave us a 1 year warranty on everything, even though our plumbing wasnt fully up to code (since it was a recent foreclosure we bought), while the Wiz doesnt stand behind their work at all. Who knows, you could have a decent experience with The Wiz. At the time, they seemed nice enough. However, I have now worked with two plumbers, fixing the exact same issue in the same bathroom. Out of those two plumbers, I would not recommend "The Wiz".
