Loved this brewery. We visited here for a friend's kid's birthday party. They have a large footprint with plenty of space. We were in their event space towards the rear of the property. We had our own bartender for the event and there were plenty of things for the kids to do. This is a very family-friendly business, which I appreciate. We ate, drank and socialized at the party. Michelle was our bartender and she was excellent. She gave the best suggestions. After the party, we went to the main part of the brewery and ordered some more drinks and I also left with a ton of beers. Everything I bought was amazing. We were able to try everything before be bought. The staff is so nice and very accommodating. The food truck that was on the premises was amazing. We had fried chicken sandos. I bought a couple to bring home. I definitely want to go back. Our friends live out in CT and they regularly visit breweries, so I know I will definitely be back here. There were a couple of beers that I'm kicking myself for not buying more of but I will have another chance, for that I'm sure. read more

I was attracted to Reverie by their story and the Friday night entertainment. The brewery is in an easy to find location in Newtown right off I-84 and there is plenty of parking. Seating is both inside and out which is lovely during the warm weather. We were there late summer and it was lovely to watch the sun go down and the moon rise. The beer selection is pretty nice. I tried a lager and then they tapped a keg with Imperial stout which was really good. Staff here are very friendly and efficient. I even ran into some good friends there. read more

We have been purchasing Reverie Beers at local stores for quite sometime and we were beyond excited to finally make it to the actual brewery! We tried a flight before heading out for dinner in town, although they had a food truck available on site and you can bring your own food inside too. We enjoyed the sour (Bearplane Smuggler) and the seltzer (Agua Fresca) the most! Didn't love anything, didn't dislike anything. I'd return to give it another shot. I came with the parents and found a quiet-ish spot. I'm guessing it's a local watering hole, and happy locals are a good sign. I went with a flight of 4, while the parents got pints. Mom was really hoping for a lager but nothing was available for her. Out of my 4 samples, I wasn't thrilled with anything. I'm usually a stout guy so I got one of those, plus a saison, sour, and hefeweizen. The hef was probably the best of the bunch. The sour wasn't my style but hey - you gotta sample it to know, right? But I was still disappointed that I didn't particularly want to get a retry of any one. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. All the years I lived in this town, I never thought I would see a brewery here. Based on the new social distancing guidelines, the place doesn't get to crowded which is great, the tables are spread far apart. The service is good, and they have a variety of sweet, sour, light, heavy beers on tap. They even had a seltzer and cider beer. Both times we went there we have a good experience. They ever had a food truck there the second time, and you can bring your own food while there. The only thing I did not like is they had you look at the beers available through a QR code on your phone. The first time, I went they gave us a paper menu which listed all the beers and drinks they had. Something I wish they would continue, I do not have great cell service here, and its party and inconvenience to use my phone around people I'm with. I found out 1 of my old co-workers works here as well, Sarah. She was very attentive to our table and provided great service. The place has a cool setup, we sat only outside though, they looked like they had plenty of seating inside as well, their is plenty of parking, and space available. The place looked really clean as well, and I noticed them wiping down the tables after people left. I will be back again. read more

Reverie Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Newtown, Connecticut in March 2019. It was founded by Ryan Broderick, his father Mark Broderick and head brewer Frank Lockwood. Ryan used to home brew as a hobby and eventually decided to leave his job in finance to open his own brewery. He felt that his initial attempts at brewing were "amateurish" so he hired Lockwood as the head brewer. Lockwood had started home-brewing on his stove in NYC and eventually worked at a number of craft breweries throughout New York and Connecticut. Ryan then brought his dad Mark on board; the elder Broderick had previously run a successful sports bar and restaurant in Waterbury. The name "Reverie" (meaning 'a fanciful idea' or 'being lost in thought') was chosen and they began using the slogan "Don't Quit Your Daydream". I stopped in at Reverie Brewing for the first time last weekend. I happened to be in the area so I thought I'd stop by; I don't pass through Newtown very often. The taproom was a nice, cozy space with an eclectic group of customers and live music being performed by local musician John Fazio Jr. After looking over the draft menu, I decided to order a sampler flight of the following: "Mr. Svenning" (Chocolate Salted Pretzel Stout), "Blimp" (Double New England IPA), "Double Dipper" (Double IPA), and "Whipped Pickle Delight" (Cream Ale). The stout had delicious chocolate flavors, but I felt could have used more salted pretzel notes. The New England IPA had excellent tropical notes from the use of Galaxy and Amarillo hops. The DIPA had some real smooth notes from the Citra hops. The Cream Ale (brewed in collaboration with Alvarium Brewing in New Britain) was inspired by pickled strawberries with whipped cream. It tasted kind of strange... and yet I liked it. "Blimp" was my favorite offering and I ordered some cans to take home. I had a good time at Reverie Brewing and I hope to return in the future. read more

I think what I like the best about it is there's a little bit of everything from dogs, fire pits, benches, picnic tables, high tops, board games, and bar stools. Beer is good with an option for anyone. I'm not a huge IPA fan but this place had stuff for everyone. If your in Newtown, check it out. Such a cool location, it's spacious and has a big outdoor area and tons of tables. Corn hole outside. There was a fire pit but it wasn't on. There's no food but way cool that you can bring your own or order take out. The beers are good, there's a variety for sure. The people behind the bar are so nice and helpful, great customer service. While disappointed that the scheduled food truck cancelled for the day we were there ( not the brewery's fault), we were impressed with the service, vibe and beer offerings at this great little gem of a tasting venue. The first thing we noticed was the patio is well appointed with picnic tables, comfortable chairs and fire pits for a great place to hang out and sip. The service, with a great attitude, from the 2 bartenders continued the experience, rounded out by 2 delicious beers that suited each of our quite opposite tastes in beer. My porter was flavorful, but not too heavy for a warm fall day, while my wife's strawberry ale suited her taste. Be careful to look for the sign at the roadside as this place is off the road in an renovated industrial building that creates an oasis away from the road noise to enjoy the day/evening Would definitely return to this awesome place. read more

Love this place! We come quite often (with dogs and without) and have always enjoyed the great selection of beers and different ciders. (Wish there were more ciders). The outside patio is great! The inside is good too as long as the music isn't too loud. We were there recently and they have a a permanent food truck on site. We tried it and we're not impressed sadly. Our order took more than 30 min and came cold. The wings were hot though. They did replace the tacos so that's good. Nice guys working the truck. Food was ok not great. we do miss the variety of food trucks that used to come. And hope they come back. read more

The beers were okay on our visit there yesterday. The place was packed because there was a band playing and there was a nice food truck outside. My only gripe is that the beer tenders don't know their beer. My husband went up to get a pint of this Stout that he had a sample of and the girl tried to give him a light colored sour beer. She put up an argument with him when he told her it wasn't the correct beer that the beer he just had was a very dark beer. She gave him attitude so I don't know that I would ever go back for that reason. read more

This gem hidden in the back of a building that appears to be abandoned and offers great brews, always has a food truck outside, live music certain days and even started hosting "farmers market" on sundays! read more

Absolutely love this brewery! My fiancé and I have frequented this place a bit in the last few months. The beer is amazing, the atmosphere is great, and the staff is so kind! Our favorite beer is their peanut butter one, the "wee bit heavy" I believe. It's delicious with the perfect amount of peanut butter flavor. It's been out for awhile now, but should be back in the fall we've been told. We usually get a growler to go almost every time we come as well since they just started canning. They also have trivia and other events during the week sometimes. A few months ago we came here for Singo on a Thursday night and the place was packed! Definitely get here early if you ever come for any events. I highly recommend stopping here for a pour or more if you like delicious beer! read more

Loved the DIPA and Peanut Butter Porter. Loved the energy and positive vibes of the people who work here. Great setting and great service. It wasn't as cramped as some of these places are. There was enough room for a steady flow of people in and out for the several hours we were there. We tried just about everything they had. When you do that there will be different hits and misses for everyone in your group. Our group was not different but we could all agree that there were a couple that we really liked and would definitely return for. I think this is another great addition to the CT brewery scene. Great beers, especially IPA's. Had the Barn Nine East Coast IPA, great beer. I visited here the 2nd day they were open. Good crowd, much more room then your typical brew/pub. Probably 75 people could easily fit in here. Service was quick, none the of typical first week miscues that you encounter at a lot of other places. Parking is plentiful and they're located right off Hwy 84 Can't wait to go back again read more
