Think twice before scheduling a free pick up. What a colossal waste of time. Your items better be in PRISTINE condition (not close to! But PRISTINE) for them to accept. I sent their drivers away, that's how irritated I was. Eddie, the pick up driver guy's attitude was so off-putting from the moment he arrived that I asked him to leave. I didn't want to give this organization my stuff. I am not interested in this organization taking my items and treating them as if they are below or sub par, just because a glass figurine or a lamp item might have a fraction of a nick here or there (if that). Please note, I have been to thrift stores and many items are USED, meaning that they show they were owned prior to, so they might have scratches and nicks on their items (hence, the objective of a thrift store!). If you were a department store I can see needing items in pristine condition, but to berate my items and knit pick everything with a fine tooth comb, please take your snooty attitudes elsewhere. Coachella Valley Rescue Mission and Angel View will be getting all of my items. And if Eddie hates his job so much (I felt his poor attitude as soon as he pulled up) then why is he working in a job that deals with people? However, Steven Frey, the Logistics Manager was really nice to work with. I'm sitting here at Revival in Palm Springs. Over the years I've spent thousands of dollars. It seems that the men who work here are some of the most unhappy people I've ever dealt with. There mantra must be "what's the least I can do for the next client " When lining up to pay , I was so embarrassed as I had a friend with me who I told about this great store. Well, they started to shout orders as to which line to get in at paying was awful. They must have read about selection at Aushwitz Just a smile, some eye contact and a "how Can I help you" would go a long way. read more

Reading the experience of one person in buying cookbooks, I must say that is unusual. I think every store has some real jerks who work there but my experience with revivals is most of the volunteer staff go out of their way to help you. Certainly every time I have been there they have offered to hold my merchandise for me at the front counter (probably so I have more space to buy more items ha ha) read more

This is probably the nicest, cleanest thrift store that I shop at. It's so clean and organized it's like shopping at a department store. The workers/volunteers take pride in running this store and it shows. The items that they sell is good quality. They also sell brand new modern furniture as well. Tons and tons of furniture - both new and used! What a great selection. I was actually shopping more for clothes and shoes which I didn't find much of; however, it was a lot of fun looking at all of the other items they had in the store. The staff was pretty friendly while we were browsing the store. Parking was pretty tight - not sure if it's like this all the time since the lot is pretty big but I'd come back again to see what other things they have next time we're in Palm Springs! read more

This store is great, I always stop in when I'm in the area....I don't however recommend using their pick up donations service. I waited three weeks for them to come pick up an upholstered bed frame that had been cleaned before they came, a rug in good condition and some other odds and ends. They arrived on time and without really even looking at the rug or the bed they rejected them and began asking about other items on the list. I know the drivers aren't making these decisions so I have no beef with them, it's whoever is manning their dispatch that is to question here....I go to the store often and know what the quality of their merchandise is and while some of it is very good there are plenty of items in a condition that doesn't even come close to what I had to donate. My point is....at the prices they ask for used household furniture I would think they would not only not reject perfectly good items without even inspecting them but that they would be willing to put in a little work to make items they deem used sellable....I have always thought that their prices are high for used items and I have still chosen to support their cause, and I will continue to do so. I will also choose to call a different pick up service for my donations, and I've donated whole house full of furniture and goods in the past, to other charitable organizations who appreciate quality items and don't pick over what's gifted on the spot. I have heard this same issue from others in the area and know that my incident was not an isolated incident so I feel ok about this review as it's honest and it holds true, no matter the cause every business should be respectful of their clients, and be willing to do the work to help make every interaction a successful one. read more

Super disappointed, Everytime we visit Palm springs we like to visit this place because it has unique things to purchase. But this time it looked like not must was there and the gentleman at the cash register was very nasty and unpleasant! He made you feel like not buying anything at all! This elderly man was try to purchase a book and he was so mean to him! After him being so mean to the elderly gentleman the cost of the book was 75 cents! What a RUDE volunteer JR is at Revivals. I love Revivals, have been going since I moved to the desert almost a decade ago. Always loved browsing the store. I've purchase MANY items at multiple locations. Simply can't believe a man who is nice enough to volunteer his time at the store can, for absolutely no reason but his own ego, power trip, be SO RUDE for no reason but pure self amusement. I am disabled, as well as stutter. No need to demand I place money on the counter when I can obviously cannot physically do or make fun of my stutter to another co worker. Yes, Jr, I heard that! Revival's I know I never had any issues with any of your helpers. You need to know of this issue and resolve quickly. I called the store to chat with someone but guess who answered? This is a hard review to write because I like the mission of this charity, and I like the style of their merchandise. And whenever I have anything to to donate I always donate to to them. I've donated all kinds of stuff to them. Some of it quite valuable. No one is ever nice or welcoming here though. Not ever. They're rude when you shop in the store. They're rude when they deliver something you've purchased . They are even rude when you donate! Which is really unbelievable. I just don't get it. An interesting store. Part thrift store, part new, mod furniture store. Lots of cute furniture, although the quality isn't very solid. It's good for us because we like the vintage look, but we have a young child who ruins everything. If you're light on budget or like us, require some disposable items, great options here. Thrift store items seemed a bit over-priced, even by Palm Springs standards, but it goes to a good cause, and you can find some unique things. After many years of supporting Revivals in Palm Springs, I have come to realize that their business practices are completely unethical. For many years, I would buy products from them. I am on their email list and constantly attend their sales. I received an email from them about a 50% sale they were having recently on donated furniture. So I invited my friend to go with me to Revivals the afternoon before the sale began. We looked around and I became interested in a bar stool at $35.00 and two black bar stools at $40 each. I decided to wait until the next morning to purchase to take advantage of the sale they had advertised. I went back with my friend the next morning and when the doors opened, I went directly to those 3 items. All I can say is I was totally shocked. TOTALLY. The price now on the $35 stool was NOW $60!!! and the two other stools that were $40 each was now $90 each!!!! I thought there had to be a mistake. I called over a sales clerk and told him and showed him the pics of what I was talking about and I quote; " They always mark the stuff up the day before the SALE!" Truly this could not be but the evidence states otherwise. Sure enough, my friend then came from the other side of the store and not knowing what I was discussing said, "I went to buy the $8 shoes from yesterday but they are now $20!!!" Revivals are you serious? You put yourselves out there as doing GOOD for the community. However, it looks like you do that good by actually lying and stealing from your customers. Again, how does your conscience allow you to do that? Did you not think your loyal customers would learn of this SCAM? I was and still am physically sick by your lack of moral compass in how you treat your customers. So the next time you send out a FAKE SALE coupon to your customers perhaps under the 50% OFF coupon you should type, in small print, " we will be marking out products up for this 50% SALE but come to enjoy the SAVINGS!" Shame on you and your organization and your lack of moral conscience for this SHAMEFUL business practice! Truly, TRULY DECEITFUL and SHAMEFUL! read more

I've given myself 48 hrs. cool down period before writing this review. I'd been shopping on-line for a drafting table for several weeks hoping to find a good deal when of all things came across a professional drafting table at Revivals! It even had a professional parallel bar, wires and mechanics all in great condition. It was exactly what I needed and only $75.! I could not believe my luck! I called a friend with a truck and asked if he could help me pick it up and move it to my home. He said he'd be able to the next day. I spoke with the full time warehouse employee and asked how much time do I have to pick it up if I bought it, he said 2 days. I said great, and asked if could he move it off the floor to warehouse after I buy it and I'd pick up the next day. He said he can do that but would be after he finishes unloading a truck and later that day. I removed the big price tag and went to pay. I asked both the cashier (employee) and the volunteer assisting him if they'd be sure and put a sold sign on the table saying I didn't want anything to happen to it. I also informed them that the warehouse guy (by name) would be moving to the warehouse later but I wanted to make sure it's tagged sold so no confusion. They assured me it would be. After paying I went back to the warehouse employee and said I'd paid for the drafting table so he can now move to the warehouse when he gets the chance and I'd be back next day to pick up. I told him the cashier is going to tag it sold. I said I was worried about people messing with the parallel bar and all and wanted to make sure it's safe. He assured me it would be moved later that day. I then went back and moved some chairs in front of the table to protect it from the hands of other customers. I then went back to the cashier and once again asked if they were going to put a sold tag on it. The volunteer asked if the cashier had given me a duplicate receipt he could tape on the table when he puts sold sign on it. I said no. Volunteer said as soon as the cashier finishes with current customer he'd get one from him. The cashier was privy to this conversation and knew what was going on. I said thanks I appreciate it and so you'll take care of it? He said yes. I then told him the same concerns I had told the warehouse employee and said that's why I was double checking. He said he promises he'll put a sign on it for me. The next day after rearranging my home office for the table I met my friend with his truck at the warehouse door to pick up. Table could not be found! They resold it that morning to someone else!!!!!! Yep, the same employees were even working that morning that I spoke to extensively with my concerns when purchasing it. No one taking the blame only to say it must have gotten repriced when another customer said there was no price tag on it and wanted to buy it. Needless to say I'm still extremely upset over this after I went to such lengths to make sure it would be marked sold and moved off the floor. read more

And this time they tried to charge me $3 apiece for two old paperback cookbooks although one of them had a sticker on it for .50! WTF? I'm a huge fan of thrift stores, vintage shops, resale / consignment places, but this place F-ing sucks. The volunteer(s) I encountered this past weekend were disgustingly rude. I asked to see a framed print that was on the top shelf in the back and so they got it down. Once I held it closely I then saw that it was folded up underneath the glass so it was slightly damaged and I asked if they could discount it for that reason and they were like, "THE PRICE IS WHAT IT IS, IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT THEN LEAVE THE STORE." Talk about an attitude problem! I understand volunteering can be strenuous sometimes, I volunteered at a used bookstore myself (Friends of the Library), but I would never talk to a (potential) customer or anyone that way. I wouldn't give this place or any Revivals / Dazzles location business ever again even if they are raising money for charitable causes. A lot of their items are overpriced anyway.. I saw a plastic end table that would typically cost $5 at a garage sale trying to be sold here for $25. Stopped in here to see if we could find any coolness for our mountain cabin. Right when you walk in the door it hits you - the place smells worse than your grandma! (Not the one you love, the other one.) I felt like it was getting in my hair. It's really gross. The stuff is, well, mostly junk. It has this "I want to be cool, hip and modern" feel, but upon closer inspection it is like one off, not quite authentic knock offs of good furniture. It's the kind of stuff you'd find at the third day, you know the Everything is 50% off day, of an estate sale which is where they probably get most...All? of what is in here. I sat on a few cool looking chairs and probably got a lot of old man dust on me. If you made it a weekly haunt, although I don't know how you would stomach the dead people smell, you might find some deals, but no sale here for me. read more

I walked in and they had an amazing display of old cookbooks which I collect. I had my mask on because of Covid. I found 10 gorgeous cookbooks, so I was trying to balance them and keep my mask on my face because it kept slipping. I was approached by a sales person saying to me "if you can't keep your mask on, you have to leave the store." And I said so sorry, it just keeps slipping, while I'm balancing these 10 heavy cookbooks in my arms. He never offered to help me with the cookbooks or say, just put them down and I'll take him to the register for you. There was one other person in the store. So I dropped the cookbooks and left. I was literally trying to spend money there and I got met with this disgusting attitude. It's really a shame because I would've loved to have those cookbooks and they have a lot of other lovely items too. But, that is unacceptable to me. read more

Why did they get rid of the Dressing Rooms? How are we supposed to buy clothing and not be able to try them on? These clothing are donated so it is not like the Store pays for the Clothing. Bring back the dressing rooms. Also, why are you allowing Pets in the stores. I saw a guy with hos Dog in the Store the Dog shit on the floor and he did not pick the Dog shit up until I said something to him. Revivals prices have always been higher than other thrift stores over the years, but the thought was that it was for a good cause, but honestly, they are all good causes. So now what we seem to have is a retail store masquerading as a thrift store. They are selling less than 2nd rate items with an amazing mark up rate. Not only that, they are branching out with more stores. What is going on here? Is this still for charity? Who is minding the money? Who is getting the bargain here? Did you over expand & not have enough donations??? How much of this goes to charity or DOES it go to charity anymore, cuz this is clearly one of the most successful thrift chain stores I've ever seen that IS NOT a thrift store. I bought a "new" matress, boxspring, and queen size frame. It was all wrapped in plastc as it was new: NOT! There was no disclosure that it was a cleaned USED matress. After 6 month, my hips hurt, and the center sunk in. I spent $439.00 for this setup. I just bought a Serta queen size box spring and matress. Matress is the orthopedic cooling memory phone pillow top but firm underneath. Delivered, no tax or delivery charge with $11.00 recycle fee paid to California, all for $749.00. Slept passed 4 nights like a baby. I was thinking of suing Revivals Cat City for false afvertising. I have a year to do so ( law school pays off) read more
