I bought a "new" matress, boxspring, and queen size frame. It was all wrapped in plastc as it was new: NOT! There was no disclosure that it was a cleaned USED matress. After 6 month, my hips hurt, and the center sunk in. I spent $439.00 for this setup. I just bought a Serta queen size box spring and matress. Matress is the orthopedic cooling memory phone pillow top but firm underneath. Delivered, no tax or delivery charge with $11.00 recycle fee paid to California, all for $749.00. Slept passed 4 nights like a baby. I was thinking of suing Revivals Cat City for false afvertising. I have a year to do so ( law school pays off) read more

Revivals in Palm Springs has a clearance center in the back. The hours outside say they are open 8:00 to 10:00 am Monday thru Saturday. That is if the grouchy volunteer that works there feels like it. Often he closes it 15 to 30 minutes early. I have talked to the manager about this volunteers attitude, but doesn't make any difference. This person needs to have customer service education or be gone. The volunteers and workers in the main store are very nice. Joseph is always very helpful. We have bought many things from them as well as donated lots of items. The store would get a 5 star if it weren't for one bad apple. read more

This is a great community service, and money maker to help fund AIDS assistance in the Coachella Valley. In this age of planned obsolescence it is also a way to help the environment. Anyone doing spring cleaning, you can either drop off your slightly used goods, or arrange for a pick up. Be aware that mattresses and TVs, not having a real market, are excluded from this items accepted or picked up. The pick ups are timely, with the volunteer teams calling at least half an hour before they show up. In my experience the volunteers are all courteous. read more

We came in here hoping to find some really great mid-century things, but didn't really find anything except the stench of old clothes and people staring us down 'cause we had tattoos. A couple storefronts down, they also had the Revivals Gallery, which is sort of a collection of their "finer" received donations, with marked up price tags. Don't shop at this place!!!! This is the second issue I have had in shopping here 6 months apart. I recently went to use a voucher that I had previously received. Upon checkout, I gave Joe my voucher as well as the items that I wanted to purchase. With a very unexpected attitude, Joe said, "what is this". I told him to look at it. He proceeded to get a nasty attitude/demeanor and asked for a supervisor. I told him, " FANTASTIC", as I did not appreciate Joe's poor interpersonal and customer service skills. Additionally, the supervisor followed along the same lines. While completing the transaction, he said, "what was that about"? Really!!!! How about, "Sir, my apologies for my associates' behavior. How can we make this right for you today,etc.". Revivals, I implore you to please hire people in your store that will treat people with respect, and who are not there just to get their volunteer hours in for the day. There are too many other businesses that can show you how it's done!! The quality of the new items is questionable to the point that I'd much prefer the donated items over them any day. I still go, just in case I happen to find "it" but 9 times out of 10 it's a quick pass through. read more

I purchased $2500 worth of NEW furniture. The waiting time took over three months, and although I received free delivery for our delay, there was a reason that the two (2) beds w/ frames and backboards indicated. "NO REFUNDS!" It's been about 6 months now, and there are deep indentations, or impressions where you sleep. These beds were relatively inexpensive, however, I could have purchased at Big Lots, etc/. but I wanted to support my community! It's much too bad that the support I provide to my community isn't reciprocated with these beds. They truly are that poor! I'm sorry to have to leave such a review, but I'm even more sorry to have purchased these exceedingly low-quality mattresses. read more

Revivals is an incredibly important part of the Palm Springs community. We are so lucky to have such an amazing place to bring our household donations and to know that all of the contributions go directly to benefit the Desert AIDS Project and the thousands of people DAP helps every year. Came out to Palm Springs on vacation and wanted to see if I could find some hidden gems through thrifting. Ended up finding Revivals through Yelp! Upon arrival, it's a pretty big space with a mix of thrift store treasures and furniture. I ended up finding some AMAZING Hollister and American Eagle Shorts brand new for $4 a piece! As if that wasn't a steal, I even scored a great group of cookbooks and some home decor for under $3/piece! Wish there was a Revivals in Washington state. Revivals showed me the door yesterday because as a volunteer I had the audacity to complain that I did not like the disrespectful way I was treated by Chris the warehouse manager. When I complained to Chris I could quit and he did not care. I approached his manager Michael, Store Manager about Chris and he made clear that if I did not like it I could quit and he did not care if I did. Treatment that would not be allowed to pad staff, but abusive treatment is OK for the unpaid volunteers. Two and a half years working three shifts a week as a cashier, new furniture sale and to days a week working in the lamp department and because I complained I had to go. Thank you Revivals Palm Springs for betraying my good efforts to help people living with HIV. Think twice before volunteering here. read more

Nice place always has been. But lately I've noticed it's getting expensive and there are no more quality items. I've been told the employees pick through it and take the good stuff. No doubt we're paying for the refurbishment of the place. They should stick to selling it cheap since they get it free. Angels is still the best way to go. I was a bit skeptical going in but the longer I was there the more I liked it. I am usually not a fan of mixing vintage and reproductions but they are seperate and that made it easier to look at vintage stuff. Some of the thing I thought were over priced but then others were spot on. We bought a few thing and were pleased. The negative to the place is there are a couple on mean and cranky old queens working there. Luckily were were at the registar of a nice guy. I would not have put up with the guy behind the other cash registar. He needs a good bitch slap. read more

I love the concept of this store and they do have some great deals. I have encountered very good customer service when at the store but two times I had to call the store and got a hold of the same guy. The first time I asked him if something was still in stock as I was going to drive out to LA to buy it. His answer was "how would I know, I am at the register". The second time he yelled at me because I wanted to see if I can reach a manager and I was firm about it. He screamed that it was too early for that kind of talk. I am on the fence if I will shop there again as I really don't like to be treated like that. I am a respectful person. read more

It all started with the gray hair guy with glasses gets snide with me because they don't use price tags & tells me a different price than what I expected. He calls a surplus long sleeve a jacket... Ok but I found it in long sleeve shirts not jackets, then he acts like none of the employees could've hung it up in the wrong place, then he says "merry xmas" and expects me to say something; you got all the attitude with me, he even gives attitude to this older lady asking if she can leave a heavy painting up near the register; he says "you can pay for it first", all she wants is to leave the painting upfront so she can go get another one she couldn't carry both, but he had too much attitude to grasp what was even happening. Just another automated response. Then he tells me he honored the long sleeve price, & I ask why they don't use price tags? He says its "too expensive" that "we're a charity" I say that's what all other thrift stores do he interrupts me and says "he took care of me" like can you be quiet & leave sorta vibe ew I will not be shopping here again, this guy just blew it even though I spent over $100 last time I went there. I've been to thrift stores like this before where they don't use tags I think they decide what to charge you after they profile you and how you're dressed. It feels weird when all other majority of thrift stores have all items barcoded and entered into an inventory. No stars would be better plus I don't think it's really that affordable when you have used pants for $30 claiming its "boutique" Done here, someone who's a supervisor should review this employee for his behavior & attitude problem. :( read more

The prices are SO high for a thrift store. They have new furniture which I'm confused about. Is this a furniture store or a thrift store? They have new patio sets for $1500+, new lamps $150+ I just don't get it. I turned over a donated salad plate to see it was $6... Seriously? I could go to Pier 1 and get some NEW unused plates for $6. I will not be coming back. read more

Great place if you: 1. Know quality in furniture such as John Widdicomb, Karges, etc. You just have to want hand made and solid wood. If you want junk, go to IKEA. 2. Know quality in china, items made in Germany, Bavaria and France such as RS Prussia, Haviland, Items from Limoges, France, etc., not Japan or China 3. Know quality in art. Original art by many times listed artists for pennies on the dollar. But then again, who wants true quality original art from those who paid good money from art galleries years ago, when you can go to Costco, Wal-Mart and buy prints that fade. Of course these elderly people who had money really purchased great art, yet today's generation gets rid of it instead of selling it because they think it is junk. 4. Know quality in art glass, such as Orrefors, Baccarat, Daum, Lalique, Val St. Lambert or I guess you might look for Mikasa thinking that is better. 5. Lamps by Marbro, Chapman, instead of junk today. I have never found the sales staff or volunteers rude and I shop all Revivals' stores regularly. I guess that those who say that all the employees and volunteers pilfer all of the good stuff continually miss when I go. It never ceases to amaze me what I find and I do this as a business and resell. For those who say it is overpriced, you don't know the true value of what you say is high priced nor do you know the makers of the good items that I mentioned above, and furthermore, you must be really cheap. I also find that the smell is fine, perhaps it might have been the smell of themselves following them around. So, if you don't find what you are looking for at your price, I highly recommend that you do some reading and learn what the prices some of these things are worth and what they are asking. Get a clue! Thanks to Joseph who has turned this downtown store into a clean and organized store from what it was. He always had the Palm Desert store immaculate for the minimal room. One last thing, some are volunteers and sometimes they are a little older and work a little slower, you should be thankful that they are helping and not getting paid, which really is remarkable in today's day and age. BUYER BEWARE This particular thrift store carries known Walmart items for double the cost. Their pricing is absolutely absurd, their furniture that comes from China (the same place as Walmart furniture) not only is inappropriately priced but is most often times three to six times the price of furniture anywhere else in the valley. They have queen and king size comforters a brand carried only by Walmart for $49 at revival $110, they have paintings found in Walmart , walmart price $25 Revival price $50. This seems to be a common theme among all the items. Many items in their store you can find elsewhere in the community from other purveyors of household goods. The only difference is where as locally owned and family operated businesses sell these household goods at a reasonable and fair price new and used, this is not revivals practice or moral code of conduct. they seem to not be bothered gouging all of their customers weather it be a used shirt for $18 that can be found new at Walmart for 10 or whether it be brand new furniture for hundreds of dollars that can be found some other honest business as much as 75% less!!! What GIVES??? . This business seems to take advantage of the particular echelon of society that is in this area, hoping that they don't venture into other low-end businesses and see product for reasonable prices, they continue to overprice gouge and steal money from the public buy a practice that seems to be buying stuff from Walmart putting it up on their shells for twice the price. So buyers please beware when you have stuff in your basket here and you're looking at buying it 100% guaranteed you can find it elsewhere for at least 50% off. This business advertising themselves as a charity but in fact they are greed mongers and would never give anything to anybody. Best of luck to you all. Have actually been a big fan of Revivals....but my opinion as really been waning recently. Over all they have become very pricy and to a degree exclusive. Alot more consignment stuff and new items offering little if any kind of discount. Clothes for the most part offer good value, but you want to be selective. Kitchen stuff, their prices are not much less, than if you found something at the dollar store or Walmart...My only suggestion is you shop prudently. read more

The Best We furnished our entire apartment when moving to the desert and found them delightful, helpful and professional. The moving team was also congenial, careful and professional. FYI, they have a new furniture section for shopping also. Do pull the tags off when wanting to purchase something because the shopping hawks there will snatch it up to buy. read more
