This is unfortunately something that I wish I had never done because the Dermatologist's approach was not compatible with the goals that I had communicated to them, leaving me with my left masseters looking larger than the right as well as my face looking rounder because of where they injected the Dysport. Waiting a couple of months for this second round of Dysport to wear off was extremely frustrating and interfered significantly with my understanding of my image. I submitted all of my insurance information, including photos of my insurance cards, and was contacted with appointment options. I selected a virtual appointment and received a confirmation email the morning of the appointment saying they were looking forward to meeting with me. When I logged into the portal for my appointment, I was shocked to see a message stating that they do not accept Medicare, but that I could still keep the appointment for approximately $200 out of pocket. This should have been made clear before scheduling the appointment. Since I provided my insurance information ahead of time and my appointment was confirmed, I expected my coverage to have been reviewed. Finding this out at the time of my appointment wasted my time and was very frustrating. I hope the practice updates their website and intake process so that insurance information is verified before appointments are scheduled. Patients seeking mental health care are already taking an important step by reaching out, and the process should be more transparent and patient-friendly.
