You pull up and pay for what level of cleaning you want if you don't already have a monthly membership. I like that they didn't push a membership onto us and helped us quickly pay for an upgraded wash ($10 vs the basic $7). Afterwards there is a small lot with plenty of vacuums you can pull into to use free of charge. Overall, we had a good experience but the vacuuming got backed up pretty fast.

For only $3, you can get a basic car wash and have use of the vacuum thereafter. We came here on a Saturday afternoon a little before 3 pm. We decided to pay in cash because of two reviews mentioning that they were charged more than $3 when they used their credit card (who wants to deal with that? Thank you fellow Yelp members for your helpful information). We pulled up to the carwash tunnel and paid $3 and then went on through with the car wash. The car wash was pretty short and of course not the best wash (but we don't need the outside of the car to be washed for our car rental). Then we pulled into a stall with the vacuum. Please note that around this time, there was only 2 open spots left for the vacuum. Even though there is a sign that states a 15 minute time limit, I don't think it is enforced. Shortly after we started to vacuum our car, we a few cars just waiting after their wash for a spot for the vacuum. But this was a Saturday afternoon, but wanted to let you know in case you plan on getting a car wash and wish to vacuum your car afterwards. This place met our need for the use of the vacuum. So overall, we were satisfied with our experience.

We have been customers of Scrub a Dub for 40 years! We are Scrub a Dub believers, enthusiasts, and…read moreloyalists. The nuts and bolts of the Chelsea Scrub a Dub tunnel car wash are very good; the quality of the (tunnel) car wash is very good, HOWEVER: (1) The Chelsea car wash is a high volume car wash/operation for Scrub a Dub. Commensurate with high volume, comes income and profitability, which, in my opinion, commands high levels of Scrub a Dub "management's attention," on-going maintenance, and efficiency. The latter is lacking at Scrub a Dub's Chelsea car wash, and has been on a downhill slide for several years. For example, why pay a lot of money for a car wash, to exit the car wash to a "pond/lake," that, as soon as your car exits the car wash, trashes your clean car? See the attached pictures of the pond/lake, at the exit of the tunnel car wash. This condition has existed for 3 years. How could that be?; (2) Speaking of maintenance, and monitoring systems, how could it be that the lights behind the car wash feature signs in the tunnel wash, are constantly burned out, and one can't tell what add-on their car is receiving, or the add-on that one asked not to receive? This, is, again, another sign of Scrub a Dub Chelsea's failed maintenance and monitoring (an Absentee Landlord!); (2) The self-service car wash bays are in a constant state of disrepair. For example, the other night, as is often the case, I went to apply pre-wash or pre-clean/soak to my car, and all I got was a minute of compressed air, no solution. This is a regular event, not an unusual occurrence. How could this be? I wonder, does Scrub a Dub's management, cycle through the car wash as "their customer would/does" to live the dream of their customer? After 1 minute of lost time on the meter, I came to the conclusion that I was not going to get pre-wash or pre-clean/soak. Then, to make matters worse, when I moved the dial to the wash cycle, the machine dispensed no soap. This is a regular event. In my opinion a sign of failed maintenance program, and an Absentee Landlord. This by the way, was after pulling into two prior car wash bays that had equipment that was broken or disassembled; (3) The "car mat clips" remain, often inoperable, over-used, and worn out. They do not support even the skinniest of car mats, including the most popular brand of car mats, Weathertech. The "car mat clips" are old, long ago in need of replacement. Maintenance? quality assurance? it does not exist; (4) The gangs, blaring music, trespassers are an ongoing liability to the Chelsea Scrub a Dub car wash; the staff (including Scrub a Dub's "Security"), entirely disregard unacceptable behaviors (like car wash bays that are occupied by thugs who are not washing their cars, blaring music, alleged music that is nothing but shouted expletives, etc). In my opinion, the Scrub a Dub Chelsea car wash needs regular visits and oversight be Scrub a Dub's best and brightest leadership and owners.

The system is very disorganized as the line spills out onto the street, and it can be unclear where the line is. I talked to him, apologized and he said no problem and that I could go ahead of him. As I got to the front of the line, the attendant who saw what happened immediately started shouting at me to go to the back of the line without listening to what I had to say or talking to the gentleman behind me. Childish and incredibly unprofessional behavior, and despite the fact I've previously had really wonderful attendants here, this miserable fellow totally tarnished the reputation for me. Went to the scrub a dub in Chelsea and moved through the line in a quick and organized fashion without getting yelled at. Take your business there instead.

The kind man behind the counter could have been salty, and instead jumped to help me try to troubleshoot, even as a line started to form behind me. Had an appointment set more than 2 weeks out for a $440 service to do everything. Ceramic, wash,…read morewax, interior. They decided to pull up on the side of the house, and send a text which was never seen. Waited out of sight on the side of my house and then canceled the appointment 20 minutes later instead of knocking on the door or even calling the phone. Next available appointment is another 2 weeks away. I respect people's time a great deal, so it's unfortunate time was lost, but being dodgy and avoiding knocking on a door when people ready to receive them and open the garage for them is sad. I'm not in the habit of leaving a prized possession in the driveway. He decided to just cancel the appointment without properly notifying me of arrival, and moved appointments up from tomorrow, instead of working tomorrow or asking to reschedule to that, he decided it was a family day now. This business does not notify you of them being at the worksite, and they don't care about their customers because if they did they would knock. Or call. Or light a fire and use a blanket to smoke signal. I can not recommend this business as they don't respect or value their customers time, and since they have plenty of customers available, they blow off whoever lands on the day (scheduled week out) that they want to take off, or easy jobs.

Some people may think he take long to detail a car but he will leave that car without a spec of dirt. He cleans the places you never knew got dirty. He is extremely passionate about the work he does. I've recommended him to my co workers and he's always early to the appointments.
