I was looking for some infant clothes but couldn't find anything. They had a decent picture frames, cutlery, and miscellaneous section. I usually can't leave a Goodwill without buying something but this time around I didn't buy anything. My husband on the other hand did find a nice pair of jeans and a picture frame with some art on it. I also found a cute JCrew vest for $15 but didn't end up buying it. The checkout was easy and uneventful; the line was kind of scattered, people were forming a new line when there was an existing one already. Overall, this may not be my go to Goodwill but maybe on occasion I'll visit.

But as loaded as it was, it was very well organized and very neat, so shopping and browsing was a real pleasure. They consign an extensive range of Junior & Women's clothing, household Items, home décor, artwork, fine and costume jewelry, silver & gold handbags, shoes, scarves & accessories, small wood furniture, books, CD's, DVD's, gifts, and collectibles. They recently introduced men's clothing to their selection, though currently, their men's inventory is limited to around a dozen outerwear coats and a few colorful bicycle racing jerseys. I also saw a nice selection of soaps, cosmetics, personal care and pet care items. One cool thing I spotted among their collection of sealed party games, was one titled "Fact or Crap." Think of all of the money that they've taken from their customers. the lady behind the counter said read your contract. Crappy way to do business you would think they're a high-end boutique. And they're very snotty besides Their policy should include letting us know when this is going to happen. They've been in business long enough to upgrade their systems. No wonder they're doing so well.

I lucked out because there was a massive sales promotion today. It's hard to get misled on pricing when a posted sign says everything in the store was just $2. Must have been some sort of merchandise clearance deal or something similar. Anyway, as I walked around the store I noticed things were super neat and organized. The store was crowded, especially their tiny parking lot which was maxed out so we had to park on the mulched lawn on the side of the driveway. I was sifting through the men's section, almost bought two long sleeve white shirts but they were a few sizes too big for me. And that's when my eyes settled on a nice light gray/light green Joseph A. Bank suit. A suit for $2!!!!!! It needs to be altered, but I'm thinking I'll still come out way ahead on the deal. My wife also bought a nice coat for $2. The sales ladies were personable and funny, and I had a great time kibitzing with them. All sales proceeds go to charity, and that's a nice touch.

Friend to Friend Thrift Shop is a small thrift shop located in a residential neighborhood in East…read moreGranby. If there were no signs outside, I would think it's another house on the street. They are open three days a week for a few hours. There are three older ladies who work here. All sales go towards the East Granby food pantry. Inside is one room filled with stuff. The clothes all look very worn, as do the shoes. One of the employees came up to me and told me, if I like anything we can make a deal. She also told me all shoes are $5.00, buy one get one free. That's a bargain. They have some dishes, some home decor items, and some little figurines. Nothing stood out to me. Until I saw, these brand new Keds purple sneakers. I tried them on, they fit and I brought them to the register. That same lady who earlier told me the shoes were "buy one get one free, at $5.00 each". She reminded me of the sale, and told me I could get another pair for free. I told her, "that's ok. I only found one pair." Well, her colleague who obviously heard everything told me they are $20.00. I wasn't going to argue, so I left. I think their business policy is awful. I understand the proceeds go towards the food pantry, which is a wonderful cause. I don't appreciate their lack of honesty towards the customer.

The selection is enormous: SO much beautiful jewelry, Chanel/Gucci/Ferragamo shoes/purses, original oil paintings, etc. It was all so reasonably priced and everyone at the shop was so kind and helpful. I loved how intentional and curated the items felt, it all looked of very high quality and things are organized beautifully: designer fashion items in one area, necklaces and rings in another, china displayed by color/collection.
