They sell higher end consignment clothing plus shoes, handbags, hats, and jewelry. The store was impeccably stocked and everything looked neat and very well organized. We have a formal function coming up this summer with a "Black and Gold" theme, so we've made a habit of going on these treasure hunts to various thrift and consignment stores for a black and gold bowtie as well as a black and gold long dress. We left ReVive empty handed because they do not sell any clothing for men, and they don't stock any long dresses. Nevertheless, we very much enjoyed looking around and visiting with the owner. Kelly could not have been nicer and more friendly.

I brought in several items and after reviewing my accout I asked about the pricing and payout. An…read moreitem listed for 24.50 sold for 7.15 and another item listed for 20.50 sold for 8.20. I understand the 40% fee but seems like when I asked about the payout it was the same as others have said - we take 40% and probably sold items for half-price. And today (May 7th) , I inquired about a misplaced "lost" item. The manager attemped to help me find the item but no where to be found. She was supposed to get back to me but a week has gone by and no call. I did call today and was told that they found the item and it probably sold later that day or the next. She could not give me the selling price as she was at a meeting. Very convienent, since she said that I would receive the original 24.50 if not found. Never trust their contract. I don't trust Consignment Originals in AVON.

I lucked out because there was a massive sales promotion today. It's hard to get misled on pricing when a posted sign says everything in the store was just $2. Must have been some sort of merchandise clearance deal or something similar. Anyway, as I walked around the store I noticed things were super neat and organized. The store was crowded, especially their tiny parking lot which was maxed out so we had to park on the mulched lawn on the side of the driveway. I was sifting through the men's section, almost bought two long sleeve white shirts but they were a few sizes too big for me. And that's when my eyes settled on a nice light gray/light green Joseph A. Bank suit. A suit for $2!!!!!! It needs to be altered, but I'm thinking I'll still come out way ahead on the deal. My wife also bought a nice coat for $2. The sales ladies were personable and funny, and I had a great time kibitzing with them. All sales proceeds go to charity, and that's a nice touch.

Friend to Friend Thrift Shop is a small thrift shop located in a residential neighborhood in East…read moreGranby. If there were no signs outside, I would think it's another house on the street. They are open three days a week for a few hours. There are three older ladies who work here. All sales go towards the East Granby food pantry. Inside is one room filled with stuff. The clothes all look very worn, as do the shoes. One of the employees came up to me and told me, if I like anything we can make a deal. She also told me all shoes are $5.00, buy one get one free. That's a bargain. They have some dishes, some home decor items, and some little figurines. Nothing stood out to me. Until I saw, these brand new Keds purple sneakers. I tried them on, they fit and I brought them to the register. That same lady who earlier told me the shoes were "buy one get one free, at $5.00 each". She reminded me of the sale, and told me I could get another pair for free. I told her, "that's ok. I only found one pair." Well, her colleague who obviously heard everything told me they are $20.00. I wasn't going to argue, so I left. I think their business policy is awful. I understand the proceeds go towards the food pantry, which is a wonderful cause. I don't appreciate their lack of honesty towards the customer.

This Goodwill isn't the largest, it is still a nice size. Their clothing is sorted by size and by color. The books could be much better organized. If the kid's books, and at the very least "adult" books could be on separate shelves it would make browsing a lot easier. It is worth a look as most will run you $1.99. One of the things that makes me a bit sad is when I find someone's grandma in a framed portrait. You won't be finding my grandma's picture at any Goodwill. Another thing that I'm a bit confused about, is whoever gets rid of handmade pottery. They all have their names engraved on the bottom. These are very unique and likely made in high school, then given to Grandma. On today's trip I found a very cute plush bird. I have a few of these birds in my office. This Goodwill is fairly priced and it has fitting rooms.

Used boys shorts $7.19, boys sports brand t-shirts $6.99, etc. Carts are filthy - I don't think they have ever been hosed down. Often, stained clothes on the floor. Nearly all items are overpriced, and I'm very disappointed to see this store go downhill fast. The positives about the store - very helpful staff, great location with plenty of parking.

She ended up buying a blouse for a future trip. Payment was easy with credit card, and were reminded how we could save money by signing up for the loyalty program.

This one is smaller than the others I've been to and with less selection to choose from. The place…read morewas clean and somewhat organized. The kids section was very small. I was looking for some infant clothes but couldn't find anything. They had a decent picture frames, cutlery, and miscellaneous section. I usually can't leave a Goodwill without buying something but this time around I didn't buy anything. My husband on the other hand did find a nice pair of jeans and a picture frame with some art on it. I also found a cute JCrew vest for $15 but didn't end up buying it. The checkout was easy and uneventful; the line was kind of scattered, people were forming a new line when there was an existing one already. Overall, this may not be my go to Goodwill but maybe on occasion I'll visit.
