i thought every one was very friendly and helpful. i placed a deposit on one bicycle but after talking to the owner bought another bicycle. i am extremely happy with my purchase. During the first year, you can bring in the bicycle for free if you are having problems with it. The bicycle mechanics fixed up a 25 year old bicycle for me to make it like new. Purchase a new bike from revolution cycle and when I took it home the gears were not changing properly and the disc brake pads were rubbing and making noises, so I made the adjustments myself. The sales person said it was all checked out by their technicians. Furthermore, I found the manager of the store to be arrogant from the store in St. Alberta base on his attitude. This bike store is suppose to specialize in bikes, but receiving it with flaws after they told me that is check by their technicians is unacceptable. If they cannot address simple matters than what more can they do. I would suggest going to MEC for your future bike purchase. read more

I love visiting bike shops and Revolution is simply one of the biggest and best in the city. My latest experience there really solidified a 5-star experience as I went in a little glum after having a bike stolen yet left Revolution excited at the prospect of getting a bike. Revolution has an enormous selection with bikes that will serve every function along a wide price spectrum. They specialize in Cannondale, Scott, Specialized, and Cube with a few other makes in the shop. Whether you're looking for a sleek road bike, something for downhill, or a fat bike to keep riding year round their selection is very very comprehensive. I was shopping for a new commuter and I was incredibly impressed by the product knowledge of the staff and their ability to help me think a little outside the box when it came to shopping around. I found the staff to be impressively able to rattle off detailed product information while also translating that deeper knowledge into the more tangible rider experience. I ended up buying a Cannondale touring bike which was steeply discounted due to the rapid approach of winter. Revolution has some pretty great sales so if you're savvy enough to shop in the off-seasons, you'll get a lot more bang for your buck! In addition to selling bikes, they also have events and classes and some pretty great space downstairs for their events. Overall, this is a great shop with a variety of services and I'm thrilled with the bike I ended up with and the price I paid for it. read more

So . . . my first impression of Revolution Cycle was not good. I walked into the store and no one even acknowledged my presence. There were about 4-5 staff on, talking amongst themselves - but none of them talked to me! Not even a "hello" or a "can I help you" - nothing! I browsed the store on my own for a bit and found some pretty nice stuff. I really liked the old school type bikes they had (the one I wanted was $800 though). If you're looking for cycling stuff, this may be a good place for you to go but make sure you know what you are looking for because you might be left to do everything on your own (like I was). read more

Revolution Cycle has a wide selection in all kinds of bikes, but their prices tend to run quite steep. My issue isn't really with their prices, since most new bikes will cost you a bit. The service was good, but I felt it slowly slipped the longer we were there. The sales guy who helped me was kind enough to run and get me a few bikes to try out in the parking lot, which I appreciated. But he got a little pushy towards the end and I felt harried to make a decision, and I hate feeling like that when I'm considering a big purchase. I was mainly looking at bikes around the $600-$800 range, and no more than that. For some reason he brings out a brand new 2011 model for $1200 in the end. Maybe he was trying to be helpful and give me more options, maybe he felt I was a ripe customer and thought he'd get a few more bucks out of me. All I was thinking was, "Dude, if I'm unsure about spending $800 on a bike, what makes you think I'm willing to pay $400 more?" They were willing to drop 10% off the newer bike, but I was kind of frustrated with making a decision at that point. I've always found revolution cycles customer service to be top notch. Which is why I was surprised at the response I was provided when I phoned for information on their upcoming spin classes. I was told "the guy" who knew about the classes was away and I would have to call back or I should just look at their website (I had already looked at the website but I had questions which is why I was phoning) A few days later, my husband then went into the shop to see if he could find someone to speak to. The website indicates that you need a trainer tire and a specific axel for your bike. Again, "the guy" who knows about the classes was not available and the sales person my husband spoke to could not provide any direction on buying the axel for the trainers provided in the class but luckily he did help with the tire. The sales person took my husbands phone number and promised to call him that afternoon, which he never did. So my husband went to MEC and bought what he thought I needed. Revolution Cycle I would love to support you as my local bike shop but I find it increasingly hard to do so when your staff are uninformed and don't follow through on their commitments. If you are running classes each of your staff members should be able to answer basic questions on the class and not have to depend on the presence of the ever elusive "guy". read more

Went to the cycle shop today, met inside by staff who asked if I had a mask. Unfortunately I have conditions that prevent me from wearing a mask and doing so. Was then told, I could not shop there regardless of my health situation, and was asked to leave. Like many people in 2020, my husband decided he wanted to get a bike to spend more time outdoors, and he ended up purchasing from Revolution Cycle. By the time we visited in September 2020, their stock was fairly depleted of mid-range and entry-level bikes, but this store is HUGE. There are two levels, and along with bikes, they carry every accessory you could want to go along with your two-wheeled transport. The staff member we worked with was very helpful and patient while my husband considered different aspects of the available bikes, and what suited his needs best. Purchasing a bike includes a one-month service tune up, and staff were able to outfit my husband with everything he needed to get started (fun stuff like a waterbottle holder and a bike bell). We ended up spending a few hours at the store total, and it was a really positive experience. I also appreciated that in a time when I want to keep distance from other folks in stores, that this store is large enough to spread people out so I didn't feel uncomfortable or crowded. I'm looking forward to returning this spring to pick out my own bike! read more

I have bought two bikes from Revolution Cycle and many accessories over the year. The prices are a bit steep on some items, but not too steep. My husband also bought his road bike there and my friend bought a mountain and road bike there. Great shop!! Love the layout, great service, so many accessories/parts and good service department there to tune up the bikes and do repairs. This store has gone downhill after the bike demand went up after the pandemic. I previously had several bikes assembled and serviced with great results. This year I purchased a very expensive new bike from this store and had a bad experience. The bike took a long time to assemble with a delay. When I got the bike everything was loose and unsafe to operate, this included the handle bars, seat, crank arm and stem. WTF. additionally the online sales service was really shitty. When I tried to purchase accessories online to go with the new bike, I consulted their online guy, named Michael, who told me to go look for the parts myself as the request quote " meant nothing to me". I can't believe that type of language coming out of an employee who just sold a 5,000 bike! I wouldn't not want this person employed at my business. My service experiences have also been similar this year. My experience used to be completely different but I will go back to united after this. Goodbye! read more

Earlier this week I called Revolution and asked if they serviced bikes that were not purchased from them, and I was told they did, and all I had to do was bring it in for service. Today I decided to take the bike in, and once I walked in the door there were 4 people at the registers and they were all chatting with each other, after standing there with a bike for a while I interrupted them all, to ask where I take my bike for service. I was told to follow the road I was on, and I did and there I found myself standing and waiting again for someone to help me. After another close to 5 minutes someone asked who was next and I said I was, and I explained I wanted to give my bike a service. He then asked if I had an appointment, and I told him I did not, and that I was ok to leave the bike and once it is repair to call me and I will come get it, and he told me they are 2-3 weeks out to take bikes, and I must have an appointment to be seen. What is frustrating with this whole process, it was never once told to me the process till I was there with my bike waiting so long. On my way out I said something to the cashiers who were still there just chatting among themselves, and I told them that I am not use to getting this type of poor service in the states where I am from, and one of the guys that were there told me this, "We only have a 2 in half month bike season and every place like us is very busy and no one can take walk ins for bike repairs or have the storage to keep bikes." Well Revolution Cycle, you have missed the mark on several levels as to what customer service is, and in the process of not wanting to help me, lost a potential for anything now. I will say to all those reading this, Western Cycle was much better, as soon as I walked in I was greeted by an employee asked what I wanted, and shown were to go, they evaluated my bike, gave me a repair price, and it will be ready fully repair on Friday. This is what customer service is, and I suggest you employees go over there and see it firsthand they can use some lessons! read more

Horrible experience at Revolution Cycle. My son recently purchased a bike a few weeks ago from Revolution Cycle. He only had the opportunity to ride it 3 times as he had to leave the province for work. His older brother took it for a ride a few days ago and upon returning complained that the gears were not shifting smoothly and were making noise, something my other son had noticed but didn't have time to deal with. My other son and I took it back to Revolution Cycle to have it adjusted. After waiting in line we were directed to the service area and were taken care of. They adjusted the bike and we we left the store. Awesome! So far so good. My son decided to test the bike once we got outside and after 3 or 4 revolutions of the pedals the left pedal flew off suddenly. Luckily my son was able to control the bike somewhat and only ended up hurting his ankle and causing damage to his shoes. Customers who were waiting outside in line came over to see if he was okay and made comments about how ridiculous it was that this happened especially after leaving the service department. We returned pedal and parts in hand and told the service dept what happened and they took the bike to the back area. I told them I didn't want them putting the damaged parts back on a bike that was basically brand new. There was very little communication from the service team at this point and my son and I just sat around and waited to see what they planned to do. Eventually a man came over and spoke to us. He did not identify himself by name but we were to find out after through other staff that he was the owner. I should be clear at this point that we had no issue with the other staff members we interacted with. However, the owner was extremely rude and arrogant! He told us that they were putting on a new pedal however he took no responsibility for the situation and kept on saying that it was impossible for this to have happened unless my son had messed with it. I assured him that was not the case. We don't even have any tools to use on it and in fact the son who had purchased and rode the bike before this event had not really even been concerned about its performance. The owner refused to accept this and repeated over and over again that " uh yeah he did" when I told him that neither son had adjusted the bike in any way (which I even confirmed again with my son through a phone conversation at the store). So he then said "well then his buddy did". He did not want to listen and did not care about the details of the pedal coming off and causing injury to my other son who was with me. Not once did anyone ask my son if he was ok! Nobody cared and we were told over and over that it was caused by someone(my son or apparently his buddy!) messing with it. Customers showed more concern and empathy than the actually owner of the store! Also, after speaking with the son who purchased the bike, he informed me that the pedals were actually originally installed on the bike at the store when he purchased it. So the pedals were installed by their service techs, and the bike was worked on minutes before the pedal blew off and injured my other son but it was due to the fault of something we had done!!! Really???? I understand things happen, and my injured son was most understanding considering he was the one who was hurt and his favourite pair of runners damaged. I actually wasn't even angry about any of this until this owner( who didn't even bother to identify himself) kept blaming my son and didn't bother to sit and listen fully. Again, not once did he ask my son if he was okay or even address the fact that he was hurt due to the poor workmanship in their store. Finally the repair was completed and bike was tested before being returned to us. The service manager came and spoke to my son and I. He was thankfully gracious and actually listened to us. He tried explaining in technical terms why they felt this could not have been the fault of the store but at least he was kind and listened and apologized which was really all we wanted to hear from the start of this whole mess. I don't know much about the mechanisms of bikes but I do know the frickin pedals should stay on when they have been installed by a service tech. So a brand new bike whose pedals were installed at the store at time of purchase and was serviced immediately before the pedal blew off somehow had this happen due to something we apparently did even though I repeatedly assured the owner we did not touch the bike other than to ride it a few times. I have purchased a number of bikes for my sons and myself at Revolution Cycle over the years but this is most definitely the very last one! I will warn my friends and my family to stay away!!! read more

I have been driving past Revolution Cycle for years, never having a reason to come in. When time came to buy a new bike as a present for special someone, this is the first store I visited and it delivered. First of all, it is nicely stocked. There are hundreds of bikes at all price points, as well as bike accessories and sports clothes. Frankly, not being really familiar with types of bikes and seeing all the selection, I felt overwhelmed. The only thing I knew was that I was looking for a Cannondale bike. Seeing my frustration, one of the sales associates rushed to help me. He asked questions, consulted me, and assisted with making a choice. I ended up purchasing Cannondale Touring 2. Time will tell whether this bike lives up to its high price tag, but for now I have made the person who asked for a new bike, extremely happy. read more

Warranties are not honored and management doesn't support their clients. Front of staff had won our business, so I am sad to cut ties. After spending 16 hours on a $6500bike, a part failed and I had to fight to have it covered.I still had to contribute financially. My honesty was indirectly and directly challenged. Later,when I showed damage my bike acquired while in shop, the frayed cord was just cut and shortened instead of being replaced. This meant that when the handle bars were turned,the cord pulled on my deraleur. Luckily another bike shop stepped up and helped me out. Again, the front end staff are great, but if ever you have a problem, you will be on your own to figure it out. Think twice before investing in a bike from this shop. read more

I needed a spoke replaced and my rear wheel trued. I called them and fortunately they weren't swamped so my bike was in late on a Thursday in July and out the next afternoon. Upon arriving they were busy at the service desk but very knowledgeable and friendly so I also had my chain and cassette cleaned. I will definitely be back these guys are professionals, oh and the repairs were cheaper than what i expected. read more

I went here to buy a trail bike. I was in the section looking at bikes and nobody asked if I needed anything. I was in a rush and left I went back later that day. Same thing happened. I finally asked for some help. I am new to mountain biking. So I asked about the differences between bikes and suspension. The guy helping me couldn't even explain things to me. Not his fault. I bought a new bike (Specialized AWOL Comp) from Revolution Cycle. After riding the bike for a couple of weeks I noticed a small crack in the frame. I brought the bike back to the store and they were initially in agreement with me that this was a warranty issue and the frame had failed. After a month I was told that I had cause the frame crack and there would be no warranty. I was offered a new frame (which I would pay for) and a $200 shop charge for a frame swap. I rode the bike to and from the store five times, at no point do I see when I would have caused this damage.I tried to ask for information to contact the manufacturer but was told that would not be possible and that the bike store had to act as a middleman between the customer and the manufacturer. I was basically being told I was lying about the mechanism of damage. Repeated phone calls to Specialized and visits to the shop got me no where. Each time I tried to ask for help with what was an obvious warranty issue I was told it was not their decision and I was bounced back and forth between the manufacturer and the shop. At one point a salesman at the store claimed "I would ride it ... doesn't look that bad." I bought the bike with the intention of taking it on long trips far from any support. Needless to say, but I think a broken frame would be a sure way to get stranded. In the end, both bike shop and manufacturer ignored me and have not stood behind the bike they produce/sell. The frame is steel and built and marketed as an adventure touring bike that should be rugged enough to carry a heavy load and used for long distance trips far away from any available service. I am ultimately very unhappy with the service and treatment of this store and I would not recommend dealing with them. It seems as soon as they had my money they were happy to sluff me off and not stand behind their customer or the product they sell. I would also never purchase another Specialized product as they obviously do not honor their warranty. read more

I have just visited Revolution Cycle for the first time, attending an Adventure Travel seminar through my most amazing travel agent Sue Fleming. Having never been a huge cycler because of some intimidation on my part, I have still thought travelling the world on a bike would be just so great if only I was more prepared. The guys at Revolution have convinced me this is totally possible! They offer beginner sessions and will help me prepare mentally and physically for a cycle holiday. They may have a selection but when I put down a small deposit to hold a bike in the spring they would not give me back my money 2 days later when I changed my mind. They said there are no refunds. The bike wasn't old stock and they had plenty in stock ready for he year. I will never deal with them again and would not recommend. read more

My husband and I went to Revolution Cycle last week and bought our kids brand new bikes - $900. We brought our daughter's bike (Scott) home and noticed the back tire was flat. So, my husband took it in yesterday for them to fix it and they replaced the tube and told him he would have to pay because once any bike leaves their shop, it is not warranteed! Are you kidding?! It hadn't even been ridden on. So, after a big argument with their Service Manager, they paid for it. It just goes along with the other reviews I have read. Their customer service is terrible...especially surprising since their bikes are not cheap. I won't be going back there again. It makes me want to return the two bikes we bought. read more

5 stars all the way!! I was just there today.!and of course I got what I needed and what I wanted. Through the years , I spent a lot of money there in parts and accessories , even though my No. 1 store is Western Cycle. One time I was there looking for a special size spoke wrench and the one they had they could not sell me cause their mech. used it. They told me to try Western Cycle. Revolution had lots of bearings when nobody else had them.!! They also had a mech stand when Western had none in stock!! I also bought 2 studded winter tires from them at $125.oo each.!!! - goood tires-you want quality, you gotta pay for it. The mech stand I bought from them was 250.oo I always get great service from them cause they know that I don't mess around. I go in there with cash, grab what I need , and I am gone. They know that I do not waist their time and walk out without buying anything!!! Today, they gave me immediate service and sold me a super air shock pump ( Cannondale 600 psi max. ) for $ 40.oo I am really glad that I went to the right place!!! ( other bike shops do not carry that brand, and it was the one that I needed.!!! read more

I "kind of" knew what I wanted when I came in, and yes they did have 3 different models in different sizes of a bike that I thought I could get along with. The fact is, I had wanted to get back to cycling for about 3 years now but hadn't because I was self-conscious about my rusty abilities (I'm now a senior) and that had held me back. I also did not know of a place that would be patient enough to let me try out different ones. Well this is the place - they set the seat and handlebars for me, and did not look amused or annoyed even when I toppled one, Jeff was very patient and stuck with it until I finally found one I thought was it. I really am grateful for the service I received. Marnie at the front desk was also very cheerful and helpful when I first called, then greeted me when I came in and helped me with the purchase. I had to ship the bike and she let me know when it had been picked up and gave me the tracking number. I would really recommend Revolution Cycle. read more

No attention to detail. I just recently brought my bike in for a flat rear tire, once the tire was repaired i loaded it into my truck when i noticed that the other tire was very low and that the tech had just sent me on my way with a flat front tire now! So i went back in and was told to fill it myself, however the adaptor was in my truck and i would have to go and make another trip out to get it i mentioned... With reluctance he took my wheel into the back and overfilled it to the point where there is now a huge lump for my first ride today... Looks like i need a new tube or probably a new tire to have a smooth ride again. thanks for the worst costumer service. As well i would have had no problem paying to fix both tires and any problems if the tech would have mentioned that the front tire needed air or repair. looks like i will not be bringing my bike there as they have lost my trust. I would not recommend this place at all. Extremely poor customer service, being told very different things depending who you talk to and they charge for absolutely every little thing. When you have problems , they are really unwilling to listen to your concern and willing to change out for a cost. I had bought a women's bike and the handle length was way to long causing arms to ache. When brought in , two of the guys agreed that was exceptionally long bar. But I was charged $10 to have it cut down - after spending over $1500 !! Another example is the pedals put on....... I wanted toe cages and I was sold a product that wasn't working . When I brought it in another employee said if you ride daily that pedal will break so ended up buying pedals for $90. Why wasn't this discussed before I bought and why would a supposedly good bike shop sell such cheap things only to turn around and charge you again for another set of pedals. That is just a few examples of MANY things . So disappointed . Buying a new bike should be fun. It wasn''t like I was buying from Walmart! read more
