Came here after an underwhelming brunch at Radial Cafe. I needed a sweet fix, and doughnuts are the perfect fit. First mistake... don't get here late. We came around 1, and although the display case wasn't empty by any means, there were definitely some empty pans and flavors missing. If you want it, get there in the am. The line moved quickly and gave us ample time to figure out what we wanted. I got the maple bacon (no-brainer) and a vanilla bean. The vanilla bean was simple and perfect. The maple bacon was out of control and delightful. What's the best way to describe them? The tasted like something I would make at home. That's a huge compliment. It genuinely tasted hand-made and home-made. Everything had a real freshness to it. Sure... I could make them at my house, spent a ton of time and destroying my kitchen... or...I could just come here, get a wide variety, and take my spoils home to a clean house with lots of free time. Because of daily caloric limitations, I was only able to try two varieties of donut :) To be frank, I was not a big fan on the yeast (vanilla bean) donuts. The thickness / lack of soft fluffy goodness that I expect/ love just makes the donut chewy and not that great. To be fair, the flavor on the donut(s) was good, just a texture preference. With that being said, the peach filled donut was sooooooooo good. I HIGHLY recommend it. I'll have to give a try to a cake donut / the savory donut next week. I have to begin with the service I've experienced here. I've only been twice, but each time I was made to feel like a regular or an old friend stopping by for a visit. Excellent. On my first visit I tried the buttermilk bar and a chai latte. I didn't car for the bar, it was a bit too greasy for me. But the chai was on point. I'm giving this place the same rating as an Amish bakery at the best indoor market in the world (because the Amish only make the best), which means it's gotta be worth it. Revolution offers a wide selection of vegan-friendly confections, including some of my favorites the Toasted Almond, Peach Sliders, Banana Cream Pie, and Orange Pistachio. Slinked in around 2:30 and was lucky enough to snag the last bacon donut!! Just what I came for. Awesome flavor but needed more bacon. And the frosting had melted a bit by the time I got it home! Worth the trip! I love these beautiful mounds of dough. My 1st trip I tried the Coconut and the Blueberry. The blueberry was a little to sweet for me but the coconut was perfection. I love the density of these doughnuts the closest comparison I can think of is a soft baked pretzel. They are filling enough that 1 will usually satisfy my sweet tooth. My last trip I got to try the maple bacon doughnut, mmmm it was the perfect blend of salty and sweet it took all my will power not to eat the other 2 I purchased for my husband and sister. I usually go around 1pm after teaching a class or after a workout. The shop is not very busy at this time, but they might not have your 1st choice of doughnut as they tend to sell out of the popular flavors by the afternoon. Somehow Revolution has combined three of my favorite foods into one morsel: doughnuts, orange, and pistachios. I really can't describe how good those three flavors were together. I also had the pleasure of sampling the lemon drop which is essentially their glazed doughnut (excellent on its own) with a very sour lemon filling. Not so sour it'll pucker your face with pain, but enough kick to make you realize this isn't your store bought run of the mill filling. My one regret is that the filling exploded all over my hands and tray as I bit in, not once but three of four times. The only thing more embarrassing than having filling all over my hands is the fact that it was so delicious I scraped the lost filling off of the tray with a spoon. I have had an insatiable craving for donuts during my pregnancy and thought we would try Revolution after seeing the owner on Food Network. Unfortunately the doughnuts are very chewy, dense and cake like. This is not what I expect when I want a doughnut. Doughnuts should be light and melt in your mouth. I still ate them :) but I would not go back. I think this is the same reason why she lost the challenge because the judges felt the final product was not your typical doughnut in texture or flavor. I read about Revolution Donuts when I read an article on yahoo that listed the top 10 donut location in the south. The article was on point! Revolution Donuts have the best donuts that I have ever tasted! There are still a few other locations in Georgia that I need to try....but in my 24 years of life, I have never had donuts that tasted so good!! I arrived at around 5 on a Saturday and they were sold out...but luckily with 10 minutes fresh ones came out. I had the caramel bacon, vanilla bean, raspberry, and cinnamon sugar. My favorites by far, were the caramel bacon and vanilla bean. I will definitely go back again to try the rest of the donuts. Only downside is they don't sell them by the dozen so you'd have to pay for each one individually. But I could care less. They are worth it! I would highly recommend! Revolution Doughnuts are delicious, and they have a variety of flavors, orange pistachio, blueberry yeast, salted caramel bacon, chocolate, vanilla bean cake, just to name a few! My favorite is the blueberry yeast cake which is so delightful!! The icing is sweet, and tangy, the doughnut is filling, and compliments the sweetness of the icing! The yeast is soft and reminds me of a really good bagel. I personally need two sittings to finish and I love sweets. You can't go wrong with any doughnut here! But wait..It gets better...they even sell gluten-free doughnuts! Call in advance for this because they sell out quickly. As for ambience, it's a cute date spot, coffee shop study session, hangout with a friend, good for a group or solo spot. The staff is very, they have both indoor and outdoor seating. My experience at Revolution Doughnuts today reminded me that excellent customer service is more of an exception than a rule in the service industry of today's world. Like many people in the Atlanta area, I patronize Revolution Doughnuts because of the all-natural ingredients, as well as the vegan and gluten-free options (because the donuts are not the tastiest in town). Today I visited the College Ave location and purchased four dozen donuts for school children with a variety of special dietary needs including some children that are vegan, some gluten-free​, some with nut allergies, etc. Because of this, I asked the woman at the register if we could select and box the items as I ordered in front of me (this way, I could confirm and keep track of my all-vegan​n box, my regular assorted box, my no nut box, ensure specific donuts are separated as they were layered/papered in the correct order to separate the different needs, etc., and label the outside of the box myself before I dropped them off). The woman looked at me with a strange look, a clear grimace, said okay, but did not comply with my request. She only rang up the donuts. I asked again if we could select and box in front of me to keep track of the donut placement. She said that would be harder for her (still grimacing). I asked a third time, explaining that I needed specific donuts separate, and asked if there might be a manger available to help me ensure I could see the donut placement and confirm they were arranged in the manner I requested. She did not get a manager and seemed extremely annoyed with my request. She (very reluctantly, with a demeanor that was not customer service oriented) asked a coworker to box in my view while she rang the order (I am not sure why she was so insistent on staying at the register, we could have written all the donuts down and rang them up after if that would have helped her process). The coworker only did one box, and after that one box, walked away. I again (fourth time), had to explain that I would like to select and watch the donut placement. In the end, I only got to see one box made. The administrators at the school had to go to the website and review each donut to check and separate them (school staff had to take time out of their busy day to do what I was trying to do in the store as they were boxed). Of course, they ended up not being placed in the order I requested, the order that separated each dietary need. Not only was this a major inconvenience for me, but school staff (who already do so much each day) had to dedicate unnecessary time fixing something that could have been easily done in store if customer service was the cashier's priority. When you spend $109.08 on donuts ($119.08 with the $10 tip), you expect that a request as simple as separating the donuts in a particular way could be handled. And to top it all off, the cashier simply moved to the next transaction after handing me my receipt without a simple "thank you" or "have a nice day" (even after she saw I tipped them $10 for their time, despite her rudeness and lack of desire to even attempt to fulfill my very simple request). I have ordered larger orders form Revolution Donuts in the past, but after this experience, I do not think Revolution Donuts will be the best place to turn for large orders that require attention to special dietary needs. This is the second time there has been a problem with a large order. This time, a child could have been harmed or had an allergic reaction (that is no small matter). read more

I love this place because my kids love it. It's instant happy for them. I guiltily eat a salted Carmel with bacon donut or get an orange donut as a healthy alternative. You may need to run some coffee out of the coffee thermos to get to the hot coffee if it hasn't been active recently. They play music from the good old punk days. They even played The Descenedents and I got to tell the kids behind the counter that I directed their music video, which made me feel old but, you know, the place feels like home.
