I originally went to this salon off of a Groupon coupon and expected this to be a quick one off experience... by the end of the visit I realized that this is some place I wanted to continually visit. Booked a hair cut for my 5-year-old son. Monday, September 7, 2020. My day off and my son really wanted me to take him. No instructions were provided, but I did not care because how complicated could it be right? Masks on, we both walked inside and while another hair stylist noticed us, she said nothing. So I waited around and waited. Nothing, no one approached us nor did I receive any e-mails or texts with further instructions. 12 mins past the appointment time I decided to call the phone number listed. A woman answered and said that she will let someone know I was there..... Waited some more, by now 5 year old is starting to touch things from obviously growing impatient. 15mins into my scheduled slot of 12:45-1:15. I called my husband, and had him find out if the barber shop near our spot had something available. As I am getting in the car, one of their stylist called, and tried to explain what happened, and inquired if I was still there; at this point I was already getting in the car. Stylist called at 1:02 of course she had valid reason as to what happened but that's not my problem, it's theirs. I am sure anything scheduled pops up for the owner and stylist. So it was up to the owner to make sure her employee was available. Anyways, can't comment on their cuts, colour, etc. but I can comment on lack of communication, I should have never had to call, they should have notified me. Either way, I expect my refund, and will never ever take my children, nor recommend this place purely because in today's day and age, communication is key. I had a weird and unfortunate experience with Paula. I came in with blonde hair wanting to just dye it all black. She never said anything at all during my session and when it was done just gave me the mirror. I say thank you and she still didn't say anything. Anyway I ended up getting a terrible rash on my neck that's so itchy and it hasn't gone away. It's been two weeks now and the dye still bleeds from my hair even with cold water and it seems to me she didn't use color sealer. Thumped me in the head and tugged my hair hard as soon as I sat in her chair, and then unleashed her rude fury to try to bully me into giving her more money. When I stood up to her, she recorded me and went to TikTok for sympathy where she not only posted her illegally obtained recording, she lied to everyone about the timing of my recheck appointment to make it sound believable that she's a victim instead of the tyrant that she is. I went with my girlfriend to get her hair cut last night, to fix a botch job she received from another stylist in town. As you can imagine, it wasn't my ideal way of spending a Wednesday night, but once I walked in, that all changed. First off, we were warmly greated by the owner, Amanda. She made us feel very welcome. My girlfriends stylist, Vanessa, was the same way. She created a comfort level that made us feel confident we picked the right place, and boy did we ever! Vanessa was awesome. She made my girlfriend look like actress Jose Bissett from Melrose Place, my 90's crush. Vanessa also said they do Men's hair. Coming to Revolution Salon is more than just coming to get your haircut or styled. Coming here is an experience that any sane person would enjoy! From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted by one of the many cheerful stylists or someone at the front desk to assist with checking you in. I didn't have to wait long thankfully however while i was waiting i was able to see other guests seemingly all enjoying their time. The vibe here is electric with a positive energy from everyone inside which made me feel better about my choice of coming. I was fortunate enough to be able to have Vanessa help me clean my hair up. Once i sat down, i knew i was in good hands! Vanessa instantly went to working her magic to get me back to looking to fresh. I told her how i typically style my hair and what i was looking for and she got it perfect. The BEST part for me, was the head massage Vanessa was able to provide. All the prior tension i had was long gone now and not only was i looking less homeless but now i felt refreshed and ready to conquer the world. To be honest, I was ready to pay for an additional massage after she had finished however i refrained from asking this time. THANK YOU AMANDA! So, my parents live in Vegas and my family and I came to visit. With the whole COVID thing going on, salons I'm CA had just started to reopen and appointments are booked. I needed a hair rescue after my hair catastrophe that happened in December. Long story short, I was going blonde, the previous stylist left the bleach on too long and my hair broke off, was fragile, and a disaster. I was so devastated and low-key depressed with my new appearance. I never wore it down because it's just ugly. After a few months of letting it grow out and breathe, I wanted to return back to my natural color and just be done with the leftover blonde. Unfortunately I couldn't do anything about the length since it's still in the process of growing out. I messaged the salon, and Amanda replied almost instantly. She also got me an appointment the same day I was going to Vegas and it was just like a miracle. We chatted before my appointment, I sent her pictures and let her know what had happened. She told me not to worry and she had a few ideas that she'd like to discuss with me in person at the salon. Fast-forward to the day of, I get there and due to COVID I had to wait outside for her to let me in. She saw my hair and said it would be no problem going dark and as far as the breakage started warming me up to the idea of extensions. I didn't know what to think initially as I did not want to cause anymore damage to my hair with the extensions, but Amanda ensured me that my hair was strong and healthy enough near the root that it would be okay. So I proceeded with all her recommendations and although my hair is still imperfect from my going blonde nightmare, Amanda gave me back some confidence in wearing my hair down and I can't thank her enough!! She is a great person from the small amount of time we got to chat, and I can't wait to see her again to move my extensions and see how my hair is doing. I booked an appointment for a balayage and didn't get anywhere near the photo. When I asked the stylist if I could get it fixed she said I'd be charged another $200. When I booked my appointment I showed pictures of my hair at the time and the reference photo. There was never any mention of a problem lightening my hair or any extra charge for removing my previous faded color. By the end of the 5 hour appointment, my hair was not the platinum shown in the picture. I was told that I could come back and I would get my desired color. Then as I went to pay, I was told that I'd be charged an extra $200. Since it was already done and I was not notified before hand I had no choice but to pay it. After that I wanted to schedule a follow up appointment mentioned before to fix my hair. Then I was told that it would cost an additional $250 to get what I originally wanted and was expecting to get the first time. I contacted the stylist Mary and she seemed to have no regard for my frustration. She continued to tell me how this was cheaper than other places and she could've charged me more. This experience has been an overall nightmare and I'm worried I'll have to fix this myself. I'm very disappointed. I was scammed and personally would not recommend having Mary as your stylist.
