It was very long and I only colored it once a year cause my stylist lived in another state. I came across Brittney's instagram page and I messaged her and we set up a consultation. Although a new salon, Ms. D'Anelli is an experienced colorist. Going gray is a controversial process & horror stories are abundant. She uses only Davines products, which are way more gentle on the hair. She took the time to educate me on all my options, including the upkeep costs moving forward or just transitioning to no color. Local, woman owned, & ethical. She never tried to up sell me, like she said "I think we could wait until next time for your cut." I feel I got a 'Jack Martin' worthy service. What keeps me coming back is how much she really does care to make sure I leave the salon feeling not only my best but also confident and ready to take on anything. Prepare for all the compliments on your hair after seeing her! I also love that they offer facial services while you get your hair done. They also use Davines products which if you don't know anything about you will be buying the entire hair care line when you leave. Not only does it smell amazing but free of all that nasty stuff other brands use and really does help to lock in that moisture and repair years of damage from heat and color. HEX Hair Studio met and exceeded my expectations! My stylist, Brittney, is the consummate professional and was very transparent with her process and her products! I came in with a strong, chunky face-framing highlight that was a tad over processed, and we were able to tone it down, but still have some light to open up my face. Brittney's tenured hands work gently and quickly. I received an all over color that was the most gentle service I've ever received, with the richest blue-black I've ever seen. After my shampoo, we did an amazing Dandelion Scalp Treatment to help with some seasonal dry scalp and irritations from prior product. To top it off, she gave a beautiful cut that had lots of body and movement. I find that a lot of stylists are afraid to shape thicker, and coarser hair, but Brittney did it with ease and with great conversation as well. I left styled, and with two great Davines products that smelled wonderful, and live up to their claims. Can't wait to come back to my next appointment! read more
