Revolutions is a combination of bowling alley/bar/restaurant/sand volleyball courts. Directly adjacent to Nomad's Adventure Quest in South Windsor, it is a great place to go for recreation. I play volleyball with WAKA on the outdoor sand courts on Monday nights. The setting is pretty ideal for social sports. There is a new, outdoor bar covered by a tent, picnic tables, bocce court, lawn space, and a little gazebo for music, I'm assuming. It accommodates a ton of people and is a party atmosphere. I've not been bowling yet there, but will certainly give it a whirl. read more

Lounge bowling alley....exactly it! Leather couches, lounge lighting, bar, they serve you food at your lane, full bar, brightly colored balls. They were playing music (holiday music, which was nice) but it's not loud at all. The staff was nice, the food was fine, we had spinach and artichoke dip and mozzarella triangles, and salsa. They can cater a party. They also have a banquet area with billiards and some arcade games. And the have leagues. For me, the location is a little bit out there, but if you are near by, I would recommend this place for a few laughs. read more

I have gone a couple of times for work functions. A lot of fun- the drinks are decent- and the lounge area is cool, laid back and comfortable. It has a nice vibe and for the first time in a long time- I wasn't grossed out by renting shoes! Lots of fun!!! So last night we began our guys-night-out with my first visit to Revolutions. Within a few seconds of entering we were quite impressed with the upscale atmosphere. Its a great looking space with comfortable leather couches and giant TV screens. Revolutions is new, so bowling balls and shoe rentals are in excellent shape. I am certainly not a pro, but I found the lanes to be very nice, as to be expected with a new place. Bowling was reasonably priced but $11 for a Bud Light pitcher is a bit steep in my opinion. They had Samuel Adams on tap but we were told that it could not be sold by the pitcher. Very odd. We found the waitstaff to be somewhat disappointing. They seemed to be shorthanded and somewhat inattentive. Perhaps we caught them on an off night. I did not try the apps since we had dinner plans elsewhere, but the party next to our lane had nothing but good things to say about the food, which looked very good. I will definitely be back to try the food and hopefully the service will have improved. In short the place has a lot to like but it is not in the class of High Rollers at Foxwoods. read more

Had numerous issues with this place... staff was rude... had to wait 2 hours for lanes when half the bowling alley wasn't being used since they were "reserved"... you supposedly can't wear a hat after 9pm because it is a "lounge"... staff couldn't figure out how to change TV stations... bathrooms were absolutely horrific... staff wouldn't/couldn't cash out the keno lottery.... otherwise great bowling alley but I'll go elsewhere read more

The only way that the atmosphere at this location could have been any better is if they had strippers which is sort of what i thought they would have with everything else going on. It was a little difficult to get in as a walk in, I guess they have a lot of reservations. There are couches to sit on, a lounge area, for food and drinks behind that and 4-5 big screen tv's showing games and what not on the screens for the lanes that the games are not happening on. The ball racks were built into the end and coffee tables which was a nice touch but i felt like there wasn't enough room on the ball return rack to accommodate two lanes with 4-5 players on each lane. Parking area is a little odd, seems like whenever you go there is a walk to the building. There are some pool table areas too but they don't look like they are set up yet. read more

One of the professional organizations I belong to was having a social gathering at this place on a Thursday evening. The place is located in what looks like an office park and the outside sure does not look like a bowling alley. Upon walking in the feeling is not of a typical bowling alley, more of a small office lobby. On the right behind two double doors was the billiard room and then down the hallway to the left was the bowling alley/lounge/bar. The lounge area was filled with leather chairs and couches. The bar was elegant and refined with a full menu for food. Our party was able to reserve 4 lanes for $50. We had appetizers, pizza, wings, salad, and dessert. The dessert consisted of small bite size cakes and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies (so fresh they were piping hot). The actual bowling lanes are really nice. There are plenty of light weight balls, perfect for someone small like me that doesn't bowl more than a 9lb/10lb. At around 8 the scene turned to cosmic bowling with black lights and other neat lighting effects. I have to say that I felt a bit overstimulated while bowling. The bowling score board was really cartoonish and animated. It was also lined up in a row of flat screen TVs playing all sorts of TV/sports shows. There were also big screens up at the pin area also playing TV/sports shows. In addition, top 40s hits were playing for music. So if you like a quieter bowling alley with no frills this is not the place. However, if you want to go for a party or just hang out and do some bowling on the side between conversation, then this is the place. read more

We reserved two lanes for a birthday party on a Saturday night. Our party Arrived on time and checked in fine. After an hour with no server in sight, I attempted to order food and drinks from the bar and was told I couldn't because food cannot be delivered to the lane. After finding the one server for the night, she instructed us to buy drinks from the bar because they're understaffed. So unprofessional and understaffed. And to top it off after the first hour one of the lanes continuously had technical difficulties. First and last experience at this "bowling alley". read more

It was fun but there were a few frustrating kinks, such as technical difficulties setting up the league in the first half of the season and lanes breaking during play. The bartender was great and management was actively trying to address the issues. There is some room for improvement, but overall I would recommend. read more

I planned a trip here for my 24th birthday back in May. We were excited because none of us had ever been here and we heard good things. Our reservation was for 4 lanes at 11pm-1am, so we got there around 1030 to hang out before. We had a little trouble getting started with the computers but the front desk was great about helping us and said they would give us a little extra time because us not knowing how to use them caused us to lose some playing time. Since no one was booked after us and we had a really good group they let us stay until close! The only thing i would fix is the waitstaff, our waitress wasn't really around for us so we ended up going to the bar mostly to get our drinks. Other than that, it was great and everyone keeps asking me when we are going to plan another trip back. So we are going back at the end of June for my bf's birthday, its a surprise so hopefully he doesn't read this!! read more

First time here and NOT the best experience, I recently moved to CT from NYC so I decided to take my nephew and niece out for New Years just to get out the house. I found this Bowling alley on Google so I called to confirm how long they would be open as it was a holiday. They said they had a New Year's event starting at 9pm so I would have to have the kids out of there by then; which totally fine figured we would get one or two games and find something else after. I got there with the kids around 8:10 soon as I walked in the security jumped in front of me before saying anything else he said "you can't bring them in here!" As he saw my reaction he continued we have an event at for New Years and the kids can't be in here. I stated "I know, I called ahead and they advised me I needed to be out by 9pm" he stated no it starts at 8 I advised him "the person I spoke to when I called said 9" He looked to the front desk for approval, they nodded. As I got to the front desk already annoyed he stated they needed to be out by 9. visibly irritated I stated "I'm aware and we'll find something else to do at 9, no worries" As we were twenty minutes into the game a security officer came up to us and stated you have to be out by 9pm I said "thanks, we know." My first thought was ok; he must be making the rounds and telling all the families with kids as a reminder. As there was a Caucasian family in the lane to my left also, however he turned and walked away never saying anything to them. In my mind I looked around and noticed my friend, my nephew, niece and I were the only African Americans in the facility and the place wasn't at all crowded for an event starting at 9pm. I didn't think anything of it and thought maybe he already told them since they were here prior to us arriving. At this point it was around 8:35 and they had ended a game and started a new. We continued our game; at 8:50pm another security guard game over and reminded us we needed to be out by 9 and left Never saying anything to the family next to us who was still playing there game. My friend and I looked at each other and looked around. At this point I was visibly irritated and uncomfortable, lucky we were just finishing our game and getting dressed at 8:57 paid and left as the other family was still playing. In my mind I wanted to "believe" it had nothing to do with the color of my skin however "actions" speak louder than words and the actions were coming across loud and clear. I want in my heart of hearts to believe you aren't this type of establishment; however I felt very uncomfortable. Maybe we'll just say it was the stress from you New Year's event and we just need more training on stress management. read more

My friends & I had 3 lanes reserved for 2 hours last night. We had a great time drinking, eating & bowling while listening to good music UNTIL 1 of the lanes turned off completely, 15 minutes before the other 2. When we talked to staff we were told that our time was up however it was very clear that time was not up because the other 2 lanes were still going. They told us that They would start a new game, for the last 10 minutes which didn't make sense. Then the remaining 2 lanes turned off, in the middle of the game & we were unable to finish. I think we should have been able to finish the games & will not be booking any more parties there. read more

The first time I came was the first year it was open, not many people were there and it was a great time. A year later however I went again with my family and another family, the desk staff was not helpful at all when we asked if we could have two lanes next to each other. We couldn't even finish our second game and when we asked if we could, they wouldn't allow it. This place has a nice appearance, nice couches, and an average bar. However the bar tender gave us warm beers :/. The customer service was honestly the worst that I've seen at a bowling alley. During an 8 week bowling league was asked to pay different prices for the exact same drink, up to 50% more on the same house margarita 2 weeks apart. Just as an example. Decided to write a review upon my second and final visit the last time i was hear some big guy with a beard and ear rings was blinding me in my car with my 70 yr old mother after as we were enjoying a water bottle and talking about our night as we told him we were getting ready to leave he kept blinding us with his flash light and my mother was appalled. Was never going to return but there was a party with a few of my co-works and after we left i returned to my car and after 5 minutes of just talking a short guy in a security shirt started to blind us we asked him to stop my co-worker has a history of seizures and he replied " im the boss just get out of here " we asked him what his name was and he said vinny afterwards we just left so we would not be harrassed more like i said before this is the final time i will be going to this establishment read more

Quite honestly, I'm shocked spare time in Vernon has higher stars than revolutions. I consider Revolutions "high class bowling" without the crazy high costs. Service has always been great, and the food has always been stellar. Yes, you may have to wait a little bit if it's really busy, but I've only ever been one time when it was that busy. I also LOVE the lounge & atmosphere. If you're looking for a classier bowling alley with delicious food I would come here. Great for date nights too! read more

I really went to this place thinking it was going to be an awesome experience but I was sadly proven wrong. I've never seen such poor customer service! Took 25 minutes for them to tap a keg and give me a pitcher of beer. Had to keep reminding the bartender who was clearly annoyed as I continued to stand there forever. Not to mention when we were we our lanes, a waitress came by to take our drink order to never return again. I am completely disgusted at how poor the customer service was. Music on a Friday night was mediocre at best. The louder the sound doesn't always mean it's better. After they changed our lanes 3 times, we had less than an hour to bowl leaving us near closing time. I've definitely had better experiences from a drinks and atmosphere perspective but I would consider coming again earlier in the evening, maybe on a weekday. read more

Our group of eight was very disappointed with this place. We first asked if we could use a coupon from the entertainment book and the response was I"I don't think so". We then asked if we could get lanes next to each other, and were told about half hour. So we got food in the bar area which took about an hour and a half. During this period, half hour we were supposed to be notified that the lanes were available..but nothing! so when we checked they told us they would not be able to accommodate our request that night. That would have been nice to know before we ate there and waited a very long time for some basic food. If I could rate this place a zero I would!! We had an absolutely saddening experience with a racist waitress at this place yesterday. We were three of us bowling at a lane and from no where our waitress comes to us and suggests that we should leave. Her name was Jen and she simply wanted us to leave. She came to us three times asking if we want to close the tab. Then, we requested the manager to come see us. And the manager again, made us a reason that there was a reservation made before. When we asked her, why didnt we get a heads up before we started our game, she said sorry but you have to leave because there is a reservation. There was no explanation she could give us that was satisfactory. And there were about 4/5 lanes EMPTY while she made us leave. It was insulting rude and we still had to pay for our game. DO NOT GO TO THIS BOWLING ALLEY!!! CUSTOMERS ARE TREATED VERY BADLY!! And for some reason you are already there, please watch out for Jen - you do NOT want her to be your waitress. Believe me!! This place has gone downhill compared to a few months ago. Not sure if it's under new management or what but...imagine planning and hosting your nine year olds son birthday party, paying close to $300 for a birthday package. Upon arrival nothing was set up and our "host" had no idea we were on their roster. We had to keep asking for service and extra supplies versus someone being their to cater to us. There were two birds at the front desk who had zero customer service skills and had attitudes for no reason. I'm sorry you hate your job ladies but that's not my f**cking fault. The bathrooms were out of paper towel and tissue. This place doesn't know if it wants to be a ratchet club or a place of leisure. They now have a bodyguard and after a while a bunch of weird people started entering and the whole place reeked of weed. No one wanted to help the kids get their prizes after spending $100 on the arcade then wanted to be stingy with prizes. Very disappointing experience. I hope they go under new ownership or management soon but either way i will not be going back there anytime soon and neither should you especially not giving them your business for a birthday party!!!!! read more

I Will not be going to revolutions again. They had 5 lanes down. The security is over bearing. 8 security guards in total who are very rude and will not acknowledge you even when you are courteous. The people around us were nice people. You cannot wear a hat after a certain time for some reason. You cannot re-enter the bowling alley if you leave. The presence of the security and their demeanor makes you feel anxious about the fact that the area you are in may be unsafe. I do not recommend coming here. It's seems like they have preference to a certain race of people that they cater to. read more

I think this place needs to focus on one aspect of the business and go all out on it, instead they have 3 small oddly placed attractions: pool tables, a bar, and the bowling alley. I've been here twice. Both for parties for close friends later in the evening. This place gets packed quickly so needless to say, I didn't get a chance to bowl either time I visited. I would suggest calling ahead to hold a space or making sure to show up before 8pm to bowl. They have a bar inside and outside as well. During the summer, they have events outside which seem to be pretty popular. DJ at night after 10p and they require ID for 21+, you're not allowed to exit and re-enter the building after this time. This place gets three stars because of how quickly the bowling lanes sell out, average tasting food on the menu, and overpriced drinks. A for effort though. read more

I hosted a private Paint Nite event at Revolutions banquet room. It was a beautiful, open space! It featured a huge dance floor for events that require dancing, as well as, its own private bar. The room was perfect for our event, but would also be great for a Bar Mitzvah, Sweet 16, or special birthdays, Company parties, retirement parties, Special Events, etc. We had a more casual event and chose their pizza party option - which was very affordable per person and delicious. The room deposit was also very affordable too and comes off your final bill. The staff was very friendly and easy to work with. I'd definitely recommend Revolutions for a variety of events. read more

Now, with some new staff in place, seldom does the waitress come to you before you have already gone and ordered your own food/drink at the bar. Doesn't come by and if she does she doesn't even clear empty dishes on the table. Also takes forever to get the check and you have to walk it up to the register in order to cash out. Honestly, if I didn't have morals I would just walk out without paying. Because it's not like she deserves a tip. That was with just two of us here. So I've been playing volleyball at Revolutions for 4 years now, and a few nights a week, and always rack up a fairly high tab. This is the first night ever I've been pushed out of the bar with at least another 20 people still with drinks saying it's time to leave, and this women was very aggressive which isn't very inviting to come back or stick around after games. The previous bartender was great always had an amazing personality and never rushed anyone out. Revolutions is going down hill. If she stays I'd say play and leave. #playandleave read more

We have been twice. First time was with the kids on a Sunday early afternoon. Place was not busy at all. Lane approach had dried spilled juice. No food was available until after 4pm. We bowled and had beverages and a good time. Second time was a Saturday night at 6pm with adults. The place was packed. Mostly big groups of kids parties. We arrived to our lanes and the table was covered with empty plates and cups and the large group of people were in the lounge area by our lanes..hard to get through. also spilled beverages in our area. We had drinks and food(it was good) and a fun time. Prices seem fare. I have mentioned to friends and co-workers that it is a good time. read more

My family and I came out there tonight to celebrate my nieces :9th birthday. We arrives around 9 and were told we had about an hour and a half wait to bowl. We live over an hour away and my niece is from Rochester NY. I called around 12:30 this afternoon and asked about reservations and if I had to make any and was told no! When we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation and when I said no I was snotty asked "why, were really busy on Saturday nights." I was very offended and thought it was extremely rude that no accommodations were made to help us. As a new business and a promising looking facility, I suggests you get your shit together and get your staff together. Shame on you for not offering is any type of anything for out trouble and inconvenience. Horrible experience. Below basic. Had no waiter all night, found out only 1 waiter was on the clock who never came up to us. Took me having to walk around and finally found a manger to get a drink and food which was sub-par, not a lot of food and even the sauces we got were frozen solid. Our bowling alley had technical issues. Also, they over charged us for no reason! Supposed to be 10 dollars per person, per hour! We wanted another hour and they charged us extra for no reason!!! Then told us on top of it "oh and we stop bowling at 2am" AFTER we already paid! So you charged us more money and you stop early. Put it this way, we left early and got our money back for the phony charge, no waiter all night and bad food. NEVER COME TO THIS PLACE! read more

Annnnd I'm done with this place, before even having set foot in it. I made a reservation over the phone three weeks in advance, for 7 p.m. (Mind you, they ask for your credit card number in order to reserve the lane; there is a $40 nonrefundable deposit.) On the day of our reservation, I get a call from them, telling me they want to confirm my reservation before they charge my card (for $80, by the way). Then they tell me my reservation is for 10:30 p.m. I don't think so. I tell them I made the reservation several weeks back for 7 p.m. Their response? "Other people made their reservations before you." Sooo, then why did they book my reservation for 7 p.m. when I called originally? At this point, I ask whether there's anything they can do. I'm told they've booked up all the lanes for 7 p.m. I say, "So, I've made a reservation for 7 p.m. and that's it, there's no reservation?" And they respond, "You have a reservation ... It's just at 10:30." Annnnd done. Not going, not trying again. I'll go to the East Hartford Silver Lane bowling alley, where reservations aren't messed up - because they aren't needed. Customer Service is beyond unacceptable. One of the rudest encounters I have had with anyone ever. I've been here before a while ago. We bowled and drank at the bar. Bowling and environment was fun but the bartender didn't know what he was doing. We were looking for something to do on Thursday night and I recalled having fun here so I thought we would give it a try. It was just me and my fiancé. We entered around 10:40 (they closed at midnight) . I tried to use the free game for my Yelp check in at the counter which was turned down! Ok whatever time is ticking just get us our lane lady. She gave us a rate and said it included unlimited games for the REST of the night. There was about 5 lanes on the end being occupied with tournament like groups. We were placed directly in the next lane. I declined and asked to be moved to a more private lane so we can enjoy our date alone. They moved us one more lane down. Really? That was annoying what's the big deal? The best part about our night was our waitress. She was cool. They weren't serving food so we just ordered a few beers and drinks. We played a couple games and then bam in the middle of my mans turn (literally he was about to release the ball) the lane shuts off without a warning or anything! When we asked what the problem was we were told bowling was over at 11:30? We were not told that upon requesting lanes. Common courtesy would have been nice especially when we came in so late thinking we had an hour to bowl not 35 minutes at full rate!!! She said all lanes shut off at 11:30. I went back to my lane and watched everyone that was there continue to bowl, it was now 11:45! So of course I went back over there to ask why and the little rude B!$&@ behind the counter proceeded to get off her stool, roll her neck and yell at me! What?! Was she joking? She now insisted we only payed for an hour that's why my lane was shut off! I thought the first reason was because they shut off at 11:30?! Did she forget that was the only option she told us was available after turning down out Yelp check in? At this point I was livid! Game her a piece of my mind. The guy that was working behind the counter there told security which did nothing anyway. Went back to finish my drink that they let us order at 11:25 knowing it closes at 11:30 while I watched ppl bowl their game until guess what time? Midnight?! This place is a joke. Also found out that the rude tramp behind the counter is the owners niece and often offends customers (a worker told me this lol) . Yea revolutions I won't be back. I'm all set! read more

The service was very poor. The bouncers were rude, it took 45 minutes to get our pizza, and an hour to get our sliders. We thought it would be fun to go to an upscale bowling alley but were solely mistaken. Would not recommend this establishment to my worst enemy. read more
