Met a friend for lunch here yesterday. What a wonderful meal and view ( see attached picture). It was a perfect day and there were plenty of tables on the deck to enjoy the weather & sights. Had a chicken salad sandwich and because I couldn't decide which side I wanted, asked our waiter (think his name was David) if I could get both fries & onion rings. He said of course. My friend had the steak tips and they looked delicious- served with rice and asparagus. 2 hour limit on the deck if it gets crowded, and we were there the entire time, relaxing, enjoying the food & catching up on each other's lives.

I went to a networking lunch at Rockledge and really enjoyed my time. The venue is bright and airy, with a beautiful view of the golf course. We had bruschetta for an appetizer, which was okay and a Caesar salad, which was really good. I ordered the Lemon Garlic Salmon, which came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was! The fish was fresh, with a few char lines from the grill, which added a delicious flavor to the dish. My one complaint was that the broccoli was clearly frozen, not fresh and it was still very cold when it was served. They served brownies and oatmeal cookies for dessert. The cookies were great, but the brownies didn't have much flavor.

Popped in on a cool day for lunch and sat on the covered portion of the patio overlooking the 18th green - keep an eye out for errant shots. One in the party had a Bombay sapphire martini ($11.50) with nice olives. Two salads and the meatball sliders were ordered - everything was fresh and served at the correct temperature. Service was prompt and friendly but could use a little polishing, I.e. Brought a side of marinara for the sliders with no spoon for the sauce. Wish they had the arugula salad that they serve at the Beechland Tavern. FYI - When there is a private party, you need to walk through the bar to get to the patio but typically a server would bring you to your table.

I struggled with this review. After all, it's in WeHa and it's my playground. Honestly, some not so good news might be good in the long run. I want the Rockledge Grille to succeed. The location is right and the recent upgrades were overdue. We were seated outside on the deck along with other diners on a beautiful Monday evening. The interior unoccupied, after all it was the first day of the work week. The family & I were promptly greeted and given plain glasses of water without asking. Then asked if we'd like anything else to drink. I replied, "Yes do you have a list?" Response, "No, but we have a full bar...and a hand written list of wines and beers." It was a crumpled notepad sized list. Hmmm. We deciphered the writing and ordered beverages. Next up, our single sheet listing the menu. Standard items to be kind and really not reflecting any creativity. Hmmm. Appetizers ordered: a Hummus Platter with cup of Hummus, wedges of a breaded substance, carrots, and celery with under-inspected ends with age rust celery, secondly a Burrata with Mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and a balsamic drizzle. Nicely done, except a few slices of fresh French or Italian would have kicked this app through the uprights. Our mains: The Rockledge Burger with bacon, provolone, and sautéed onions added, except the bacon must have gotten lost in the rough! The burger was good, but it quickly required a fork because the roll disintegrated after all the juices from the burger and tomato took charge. The other dishes consisted of two orders of the Scallop entree with creamed polenta and the forth a platter of the Mac & Cheese with bacon (must have been mine?). Both Scallops and Mac were approved. Dessert, on this day was reported to be "Chocolate Cake, Cheese Cake, Vanilla, or Chocolate Ice Cream. Hmmm, no thanks. Summarizing: Rockledge, please pickup your game; there aren't any handicaps in the Restaurant business.

Best chicken sliders EVER! And my favorite salad of all time is the apple grape goat cheese salad

In the era of outdoor patio dining this is surely my new favorite place! This restaurant is seated right above the beautiful rockledge golf course and has a beautiful view of it! On a Tuesday afternoon, 6 of us were seated quite quickly outside on their patio. The food was absolutely delicious. I got the taco salad which was gigantic and so so amazing- it had meat, ranch, sour cream, Jalapeños, pico de Gallo, cheese, a bed of mixed greens and all packed inside a crispy light tortilla bowl (might have been the best ever!)- get this item!! My husband got their Mac and cheese which was also very good and even better when he asked to have buffalo chicken in it the server quickly obliged and was extremely accommodating to his request! The only issue was this poor server was working all alone so we didn't get our waters or other requests very often or not at all. Regardless it's a great place and I will definitely be back! Hopefully there will be more servers next time!

    Seafood Risotto

I originally intended to start this review differently- however mistakes happen and Rockledge Grille did a wonderful job rectifying theirs which is not common enough nowadays. With that being said, how was the food? To put it simply, it was delightful! I opted for the seafood risotto which was tasty with a generous portion of fish. The sauce was flavorful and complimented it well, but maybe was slightly heavy on the lemon and tomato. I also had some of my wife's sweet potato fries and they were wonderful as well with just the right amount of seasoning. Overall I really applaud the waiters and waitresses who are busting their behinds to ensure everyone has a good experience- they are the MVPs.

Great to be back at The Rock for an early birthday dinner and drink and of course the sunset. Can't wait to be able to see friends in the bar again someday. Gotta say the specialty mixed drinks were great and the pork chop Milanese and lobster roll we had were perfectly cooked and presented.

We went for an early seating yesterday and bravely brought our 8 month old. This was already a bold ask because this restaurant doesn't scream children but port of call took it with stride. We were accommodated with a highchair and several staff stopped to say hi to our baby. (For his part, our baby was relatively chill although a loud babbler, and no tears which we would call a win). Now onto the product. Absolutely phenomenal. We were wowed from start to finish. Every single drink, dish, and dessert far exceeded our expectations. The happy hour menu is very generously priced and had several favorites off the actual menu, as well as some items which I believe are available all the time. Our server (I'm very sorry I can't think of his name) was fantastic and offered excellent recommendations to like drinks on the current menu based on drinks we said we usually steer towards. Every drink (we had 4 different ones) absolutely knocked it out of the park. This would be an awesome spot for cocktails and apps with friends but is also a superb full service date night spot. We can't (and won't) stop raving about port of call!!!

This restaurant provides a higher quality meal than 99% of restaurants in CT. To the detriment of an otherwise fantastic experience: The overall experience here lacks some of the polish you'd expect from a restaurant operating at such a high culinary level. There seem to be consistent breakdowns of the overall communication, planning and operations throughout the restaurant experience. While the service team is friendly, capable, and professional, there are recurring lapses in communication and organization that affect the overall flow of service. These hiccups express a system lacking in polish and organization, perhaps due to a breakdown of cohesion, a weak overall structure, or management issues...? The intimate dining room is a part of the restaurant's charm, but it also leaves little room for error. Seating logistics and pacing require careful management, and we've experienced a few situations where communication between the front and back of house appeared to break down. To the staff's credit, any issues we've encountered have always been handled directly, graciously, and professionally. Port of Call remains a top dining choice, but the operational inconsistencies keep it from feeling like an automatic recommendation every time. Food: 5/5 Servers: 5/5 Finesse/Operations: 2/5

We started with a couple of drinks, which were very strong..maybe a little too strong. My sangria didn't taste like sangria at all, and I honestly couldn't tell what was in it. It didn't have any fruit, and I think vodka was added. We ordered the calamari and what was listed as hummus with pita. When it arrived, we noticed the "hummus" was actually spinach and artichoke dip. I had to ask about it since I have an allergy and wanted to make sure a certain ingredient wasn't included. We decided to keep it and I'm glad we did because it was absolutely delicious!! The calamari was just as good, if not better. Both appetizers were fantastic. For our entrée, we ordered the rigatoni to share. There was a bit of confusion, as our waitress (who was also the bartender) thought we wanted it packed to go, when we actually planned to eat it and then take the rest home. She quickly fixed it in the kitchen, so really no harm done. My only guess is that since we had been sitting with appetizers for quite a while, she may have assumed we were finished eating.. I mean it was a while. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very good. However, it was topped with microgreens and cilantro which really threw me off! I've never had a pasta dish garnished with cilantro, especially instead of something more traditional like basil...? It felt like a strange choice and was a bit unappetizing for me. Overall, it was a very... odd... first experience. Would I give it another shot? Yes, but I think I'd wait a bit and hope things become more organized. I have to add it is beautiful inside.
