    Western Rex

Service was amazing, put mayo on our burger when we asked for no mayo, felt bad asking for a remake but she was more than happy to do it. When she brought the remake out she also brought fries which were also amazing. Burger patties were juicy and exceptionally cooked. Colossal sauce was also amazing. This shop is located in the Fork hall. Cute environment with dino's!

Oh man, you know it was such a disappointment coming here. My son was really looking forward to eating here. I had bookmarked it for when we came out to Salem. We get there, the restaurant is in like a food court place. We order and the woman seemed like she was over the day and was almost annoyed we were ordering. All good, didn't think anything of it. Our food is ready and she tells me they are out of toys that come with the kids meal (why we got the kids meal). I was like maybe that would've been nice to know before we ordered the kids meal and played full price for it. The food was saltier than the cashiers attitude towards us for ordering. The lemonade was basically water :( just all around such a disappointment. Maybe I had high expectations for this place, but it didn't even meet the bare minimum. The Mexican restaurant next to it looked good though! Maybe we'll go there next time!

Absolutely the worst burger in town. The Owner also owns the Best Goose Bar next to store. The pictures represent the most basic burger the offer, made by children or someone who doesn't know how to cook.

We went on the 2nd day they were opened and we were highly impressed! Juicy medium cooked burgers, they taste handmade. I hate having to "add" cheese for an extra cost. In my mind it should be automatic on a burger but I know some people don't want cheese. Every burger comes with sauce, lettuce, tomato and pickles. All the other toppings are extra. Fries were delicious. We were told starting next week it's one sauce per order (ketchup or ranch) and then they are gonna start charging for a 2nd. Either way, it's worth it. You really don't need a double, they patty is 6oz.

Rex at the Fork Forty food hall

I stumbled upon this place when I visited the Fork Forty food hall. Great place for a burger! I like this place for a few different reasons. First of all, have loved dinosaurs since I was little so the artwork attracted me really quickly. Also, the lights really lit up the place and caught my attention. Another thing that is great about this place is the simple menu. At the food hall, you can get overwhelmed with all of the options. Burgers, toppings and food options for kids. I got a burger with pepperjack cheese and jalepenos and it was super juicy and delicious. Thanks for bringing a new burger joint to the food hall!

Every bite dissolved effortlessly, leaving behind layers of warmth, salt, and satisfaction that lingered like a favorite song long after it ended. And then came the apple caramel pudding. I genuinely wasn't prepared. It tasted as though autumn itself had been distilled into a dessert and blessed by angels. The apples were soft and fragrant, the caramel deep and golden, weaving together in perfect harmony. Each spoonful felt impossibly delicate--sweet without excess, comforting without heaviness, nostalgic without needing a memory attached to it. It was the kind of dessert that silences a table, not because there's nothing to say, but because words suddenly seem inadequate. Slangers doesn't just feed you; it reminds you why food can be art. Between the buttery-soft burgers and what may be the most heavenly apple caramel pudding I've ever tasted, this was not simply a meal--it was a brief, beautiful interruption from reality. -- A place where comfort food reaches poetry.

Their ciders are great, I tried the Viking Cherry Cider and loved it so much I bought a six pack to take home, at $18 for 6 it was still absolutely well worth it. For food my coworker got the Fish and Chips, deep fried in beef tallow for those who avoid seed oils, and said it was excellent. I had a caesar salad and fries to go with my cider and it was a lovely meal. This will absolutely be one of our go-to spots when in Salem from now on.

I was thrilled to find that the scotch eggs were not only delicious but also authentically prepared. The yolk was soft and slightly runny, and the crust was perfectly crisp and flavorful. This establishment is a true hidden gem. While the food prices are a little steep, the quality definitely makes it worthwhile. We will be back!

I also had warm rye bread. Not toasted. We were half done with our breakfast, and was given the bill, and boxes to go. Very rushed, crowded, and expensive. $58 for sub-par breakfast for 2. Turns out they're right next door, tucked back a bit from the roadway so easy to miss you and when you're sober. Glad I noticed it as we were driving off, as it's a great taphouse with a large number of beers on draft, in excess of 20 I believe. Service is very gracious, and you don't have to commit to official tasters, they're willing to pour you a little splash of several beers for you to figure out what it is you'd actually like to taste. That said, we opted to do an official flight of four IPAs, one of which was a hazy. All pretty interesting; ended up ordering a pint of one of them to share. Like a lot of tap rooms, they use the app DigitalPour to list their beers so you can check them out online if you like. We'll probably be back again. We didn't order any food while we were there, but what we smelled, and looked at appeared to be pretty good. I tried this at The Yard…read more It was....alright. Kind of expensive, but not overly bad for a food truck collective. I ordered an El Dorado, with barbecue sauce, onion rings, bacon, and cheese (tomato, lettuce, and onion are listed on the board. I declined lettuce and tomato but didn't receive any raw or grilled onions, just an onion ring. That was fine. However, the menu said onion rings and onions.) I chose the tater tots to go with it. I also ordered a side of mozzarella sticks. Not overly long to receive. The food was hot and clearly prepared fresh. However, I have a hard time not saying that literally everything I ate started off frozen. Consider the hockey puck, perfectly formed, crisp edged hamburger patty. Honestly, it didn't really taste like anything. Just...chew. Frankly, it made me think of frozen Bubba Burgers. Maybe the Angus one, to be fair, but it still didn't really taste like anything. Complete lack of seasoning, except maybe some sprinkled on, which is usually indicative of a frozen hamburger puck. The bacon and cheese were okay. Barbecue sauce was non-descript. Tots were...potatoes. Again, I felt like they came out of a generic food supplier bag. And the picture on the menu versus the actual mozzarella sticks? Yeah. Not the same. I recognized them from my drinking days the moment they came out. The exact same frozen mozzarella sticks that they serve at most bars. Big, thick, breading comes off the cheese pretty easily as they cool down, big hunk of solid cheese that starts off stretchy and turns into a solid block when cold. My 12 year old son and I didn't finish them, and both me and that kid love fried cheese. Look, it wasn't horrible. But I didn't finish it. And wasn't sad about it. And it cost an awful lot for that, all things considered. If you're at the Yard and just want basic American style diner food, go for it. You'll get what you ask for. But I don't see any reason to go there. Honestly, I have a better burger from Wendy's. :/
