Their crew arrived promptly every morning between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. They were professional, courteous, and paid close attention to every detail. The preparation work was thorough, and when the job was complete, they cleaned up everything before leaving each day. Considering the amount of work involved, I was impressed that they completed the entire project in just 2 1/2 days. Their pricing was very competitive, and the quality of their workmanship exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Universal Painting & Coatings. They provided excellent service from start to finish, and if I need any painting done in the future, they will definitely be my first call.

His communication and recommendations throughout the process again was fantastic. His team showed up on time, were courteous, worked hard, kept everything clean and finished in the timeline estimated. They even went above and beyond and moved in extremely heavy doors for us, we had delivered while we were away. We couldn't be happier with our experience again, and I give his company info. out any time anyone is looking for a trustworthy painter in our area. He also called in a gallon of paint for us, as we needed to do a touchup after we had a contractor come in to do some work and even offered to drop it off free of charge. Jeff and his team are absolutely the best.

The communication throughout the project, from the moment of initial quote up till it was completed went smoothly. He is extremely knowledgeable and master of his craft. We are thankful to fellow reviewers to bring him to our attention. Anyone looking for any stucco/drywall related projects, you will be amazed at his work as much as we are for sure!

Aston carved out some time on his weekend to come check out the job and provide a quote. He was super upfront about what he could do and gave us recommendations even if we didn't move forward with him. He answered ALL of our questions and made us feel very at ease (especially after working with a contractor that was the complete opposite). Aston emailed me a very detailed and reasonable quote that evening and we hired him that next day. He is seriously one of the best contractors I've worked with (I work with contractors for a living so I've seen the full spectrum of good, bad, and ugly). He is super friendly and VERY communicative. I would rather have someone that over-communicates than under, because it removes assumptions from both sides. The work he does looks really great. He is extremely tidy and cleaned up the areas at the end of every day. He was able to match the old French lace texture we have over a fairly large area. His work has held up wonderfully, especially after the week and a half or rain we just had. Pictures posted are the before, in process, and unpainted finished work. HIGHLY recommend.

This is my revise review on P&R Lathing…read more To save time I won't go into all the details, but I hired P&R Lathing to remove and replace the weep screed and replace the black waterproofing paper at my home. When the work was finished, I believed everything had been done correctly and I initially left a positive review. I cannot remove the review so I am updating it. Later, I hired a mold remediation company to address a separate issue. During their work they removed a full wall of drywall. When they finished their process, the owner showed me that daylight was visible through multiple gaps at the bottom of the wall by the weep screed. If I didn't have the drywall removed I would have never known that the work was done improperly and would have ended up getting mold again. He explained that if the problem is not corrected, Moisture and pests can enter and mold will return. It appears that when P&R Lathing installed the weep screed, there are many gaps where you could see daylight from the outside. Because of this, insects came inside the house and had moisture intrusion entered the wall cavity, and during rains my mudsill, 2x4's and the interior of the black paper was wet. I had to run air blowers and a dehumidifier to dry the area to prevent mold from returning. I contacted Richard Warren, the owner of P&R Lathing, and asked him to resolve the problem. He said just put some caulking on the inside and outside. That is a band aid I paid almost $5,000 hired a licensed contractor because I wanted it to be done the right way! You are not supposed to put caulking on the outside or else you will get mold. I even offered to pay for the removal and replacement of the weep screed as long as it was corrected properly, without any additional profit to him since the original work had already been paid for. He had a worker paint on the foundation a cement sealer that didn't work. As a result, I filed a complaint with the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) and am currently waiting for them to resolve the issue. In my opinion, I would recommend hiring a different contractor. While the workers were doing the work, Richard never came by to check on the quality of the work. He only came at the beginning to show the crew where to do the work and returned again when the job was finished to collect the payment.
