This rating is for Alex from connection construction. Super unprofessional and I mean super. I scheduled with him to get an estimate to remodel my bathroom. I am looking to replace the tile, redo the shower, move the toilet, run 240 to add a washer/dryer, replace/add countertop and cabins, and replace fixtures. First, time we schedule for him to come on a Tuesday morning at 8, I woke earlier to open up this time slot because I still had to go to work. He text me at 7:20, telling me that the 91fwy was closed possibly because a bad accident, so he asked if we could reschedule for the next day at 8AM. I agreed. Wednesday morning comes, no call, no show, and he did not respond to my text. Thursday evening: Hi Jeremy. I apologize, I've lost my cell phone yesterday morning at a gas station! I wasn't able to recover my contacts and messages until this evening. I apologize! I will give you a great discount on your bathroom remodel. Apology, accepted. I get it, shit happens but he's not looking good at this point. So we rescheduled again for than coming Saturday(today), ultimately we confirmed that he'll arrive around 12ish.. I had an initial appointment with Alex and he rescheduled on me the several times, all within an hour or two of the time. When we finally locked down a slot, he texted that he had arrived and then never responded back, ghosting me. I wasted a few days trying to just have him come over to give us a quote on a sizable home renovation project. Not sure what happened but I figure he saved me the hassle later on down the road working on a project since he was not too reliable. read more

First off let me start by saying that I dont write bad reviews just to write them. ONLY IF THERE IS A LEGITIMATE REASON OF DISATISFACTION. I hired alex to paint the exterior of my moms home originally they did a decent job, so we decided to hire Alex again to replace drywall ceiling and paint the interior at my mother's house. He said he had experience and was willing to take on the job. The project started 8/28 and was never completed because we ended up realizing mid project they had no idea what they were doing. To say that there was unprofessionalism is an understatement. Not only was the drywall sooo messed up, they didn't know how to stagger it correctly, (RED FLAG) they were adding caulking instead of drywall mud, saying that was their technique they used. ( anyone that knows drywall knows this isnt the standard) Once they painted you could still see the butt joints on the ceiling, multiple air bubbles, unleveled,(no attempt to make it level) the light cutouts & a/c air filters where not measured. All the closets had the lines of the drywall clearly visable, and they just primered and painted after probably one coat of mud. I tried serveral times to let him know i thought it was too soon to primer, via email and text message and we even spoke on the phone, that it needed another coat or two of mud, but that fell into deaf ears. The light fixtures or the ac filter covers wouldn't cover the holes. They painted on the internet cable onto the wall, after we told them they made it seem as if that's normal to paint wires on to walls. We asked them to remove the painted wires off the wall and the internet fiber wire broke and we had to call AT&T to have it replaced. I asked Alex to meet me for a walk thru, and he and I agreed on a time, he didn't show up. I drove all the way from LA. I asked him again to meet me again and after doing a walk thru for the first two bedrooms all Alex kept saying is well the house is old. And he admitted that it wasnt done correctly. Juan the painter also admitted my husband only doing drywall a handful of times, as well as Alex said his helper was inexperienced. He claims to have so many years of experience and expertise but the workmanship surely show otherwise. I told him i didnt want the same people back to continue to finish the work and he said he had no one else. I was baffled. He was sending the same employees to fix their own work, that couldn't do right in the beginning. Alex rarely went to inspect the work being completed. And he litteraly lives down the street from my mother's house. After telling him i hired him for professional drywall installation his response was well based on the quote i gave you, you aren't getting a professional because it costs more. Saying that he has to pay for insurance, bond, etc. Definition of a total paper contractor. Hires cheap labor and keeps the profit. His communication with his own employees is poor, because i spoke to the employees about what i had talked to him about and they said they had no idea, that Alex had not told them anything. Besides that Alex told me he would haul away free of charge, and ended charging me for it once we were having issues. (I have this in writing in his original bid where he said he would haul old furniture for free) We also had him do the insulation, since the drywall was getting replaced which should have been done as you put the new drywall up in the very beginning and that litteraly took 2 months to complete, because the first time they left it looking a complete mess, and didn't know how to install it. I had to text him instructions on how its suppose to be installed and I had to keep texting him as to when they could go back to the house to complete it. He said he would go on a weekend, my mom waited for his employee and he didn't show up. Didn't text saying the employee wasn't showing up, I had to reach out to ask and all his response was "not today, im sorry" And still wasnt done correctly. But at this point we don't want them back at all, ever! He claims a 5 year warranty, and I've asked him about 4 times for this "warranty" in writing, via email and still i have no response. There were so many things I can write about here but just stay away. Dont hire him for any interior work. He is unprofessional, hung up on me and my husband multiple times, called his customers annoying, insulted me telling me he felt sorry for me and anyone I work with in the future ( text messages to prove). I am the customer and as a paying customer I have the right to speak up when something isnt done right. The house may be older but the drywall is brand new. He failed to do a full walk thru,poke his head in the attick and then was trying to say he was doing things "free of charge", like as if he was doing me a favor. Biggest mistake hiring him. The quality of the work was excellent, and Alex communicated clearly throughout the process. They showed up on time and cleaned up at the end of the day. After reading these reviews, I really wanted to hire Alex to do our job. Nothing too difficult, just repairing ten small second floor bottom window sills that had rot damage. I called Alex, set up an meeting, and he confirmed it. Day of meeting (I took half a day off work to be there) he never showed up, never called and never returned my calls or texts. Shortly after I called from a different phone number to which he quickly picked up, but as soon as I said who I was he hung up. Again I never met him in person, so don't know what caused him to have this reaction. Just wish these contractors would be courteous enough to say "I don't want the job" instead of wasting our time. read more

He built a gate in our backyard using lattice (so our puppies could see who was coming through the yard, while not attacking them as they came through).
