My mom got her wood porch, that had been standing there for almost 30 years, re built about 2 months ago by Gary Carpenter. Right after it was built it looked sturdy (mind you my mom has never built anything in her life and has no idea what to look for). Within 2 months the porch and railing has started to lean and come apart. When my mom called the contractor that re built it for her (found on Home Advisor) he was disrespectful and reluctant to come look. When he did he told her "this is what happens to wood" and offered to put in "a few screws" right there. When my mom noticed it was still crooked he said "well either the top of the railing or the bottom is going to have to be crooked" He then continued to make excuse after excuse and later directed my mom to send all of her concerns to "the owner" of the company's email (which is his wife). He also told her any corespondents between them will be charged $75/hr!! For questions and concerns about her crap made porch! Are you kidding me?!?! They have yet to attempt to contact my mom, respond, or fix their mistakes other than his grand idea of adding screws. And at this point my mom doesn't trust him and would prefer to just get her money back for the crap job she's going to have to pay someone else to fix! And in the expierences she's already had with them I'm sure that won't be easy and will require some kind of court my advice to everyone is not to hire this man or "company". Apparently he is licensed and bonded so you would think that would come with some feeling of responsibility and pride ‍ If for some reason him and his "owner" decide to do the right thing and refund my mother's money I will revise my review.

I found Mr. Chestnut by following a chain of recommendations from other contractors for someone "that really knows craftsman homes and their construction." I was very impressed with Mr. Chestnut as he investigated and prepared a report detailing everything that had gone wrong with my previous project. He works very efficiently, underbilled his time, and was very fair with his appearance fee. Most importantly, though, based on his background, vast experience, and the impartial report he prepared, Mr. Chestnut was accepted by the Arbitrator (who himself is an industry expert) as an impartial expert in my case. Mr. Chestnut is very sharp and well spoken, and with his testimony we were able to prove our case. Mr. Chestnut was particularly adept at not being bullied, or allowed to be mislead, by the opposing attorney (who pretty much lied about everything, and made outrageous claims). Thanks, in part, to Mr. Chestnut, we received a fair judgement for our repairs. I highly recommend him!

What Dave took on was essentially a complete gut remodel and reconstruction of a house that had already been badly mishandled. It was an enormous project, and watching him and his team transform our house has been amazing. One of the things that stood out to us immediately was the standard Dave sets for his work. He notices the smallest details and wants everything done properly. The subcontractors he works with are also wonderful people. Everyone who came into our home was kind, respectful, and pleasant to work with, and they took tremendous pride in their work. They were perfectionists just like Dave and cared about the details and the finished result. Dave has an incredible ability to look at a problem and figure out how to fix it properly. Our project required far more than simply finishing a remodel. There were many existing problems that had to be corrected, several areas that needed to be rebuilt, and details that required custom solutions. Instead of being overwhelmed by those challenges, Dave worked through them one by one and kept moving the project forward. What meant the most to us was knowing that Dave genuinely cared about our home and the quality of the final result. After our previous experiences, that was something we did not take for granted. I experienced long delays for samples. Poor quality of work. Blueprint not followed. Wrong product installed at the price of $51,000.00. The builder walked off job, because he refused to replace with correct product. C .Parsons will claim he quit, he did, because of the poor job. Sub contractors allege Parsons is a slow pay. Sub contractors allege money withheld and false claim made money was refunded to client (me). Allege Idaho public records show another lawsuit filed as recent as July of 2025. Allege Dave Parsons (founder) is no longer an owner. Don't be fooled if he is paraded into your meeting. Many other quality builders available. AVOID THIS COMPANY
