J & H was the last one estimate (we got two more estimates before) , we decided to go with J & H, paid required 10% deposit. On a prior arranged date, Dave arrived on time, gave us estimate as how long the job will take. My boss is always hates the noise, so we left and after three hours the job was done to our satisfaction. Dave was courteous, and did a great job (thank you, Dave). One thing should be improved is the communications with the customers. First we have to wait for the quote (I had to ask Mike,where it's), then after sending deposit almost a week past, still we don't know status, again text to Mike, now we know the reason and when it will be done. Otherwise we recommend J & H, local small business, but please keep customers in the loop.

(those dots are days gone by, and still waiting) for them to contact me with a price for work to be performed. They never contacted me. Some people might say I should contact them again. I say two strikes and you are out. A & D will attempt to downplay their oversight and lack of business ethics with a reply like, "we take our business seriously" and "call us and we will fix it". Nope, I am not going to give them an opportunity. If they cant complete their promised work offsite, then what makes you think they will show up to complete work onsite? Rightfully so, I'm not going to patronize A & D. Not worth much more effort than this review. Dicks

We had a big 2nd story bedroom double pane window that the seal failed so it looked like amoebas were attached to the glass. They came out this morning, a crew of three, set up scaffolding and took the damaged window out and installed the new one in a matter of hours. I'm sitting in my bedroom now looking at a bird and expecting it to fly right in. You can hardly tell there is glass there, it's so pure and clear! My only regret is that their truck wasn't on our street 10 years ago! I would call them back in a heartbeat for any glass or mirror work we may need in the future! Call them!!!

Fisher and a 2nd company were about the same price and a third was almost twice. Based on their positive reviews, their promptness in getting back, and their quote, we went with Fisher. The entire process was flawless - as good as one could imagine. They came to make the measurement, determined the tint of the other windows to insure a match, and installed a replacement within ten days of taking the measurements. Rick and his co-worker were a pleasure to deal with, as was the office, that kept us aprised of the schedule. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had for a home repair/service company. Within 2.5 years, the top hinge began failing, screws were visibly pulling out from the wall plate, and the door started hitting the adjacent glass panel. I reported the issue while the hinge was still under the manufacturer's 3-year warranty. Instead of replacing it, the installer adjusted the glass position and left the clearly failing hinge untouched. A year later, now 7 months past the warranty period, the same issue occurred again. I contacted the installer with updated photos, measurements, and the original quote, which he no longer had on file. He acknowledged the hinge should be replaced but said it would now cost me $150 since the warranty had expired, even though I had reported the problem well before it did. After reviewing the original quote from the manufacturer, I discovered that the hinges installed were not the ones listed in the approved order. They were a different model entirely. This likely explains why he had no record of the order, why the hinge wasn't under warranty, and why it failed prematurely. It also explains why he already had a matching replacement hinge in his possession, as seen in a photo he texted me. When I asked why the hinge hadn't been replaced within the warranty period, his response was: "Frankly, I don't feel the vibe to assist anymore." I replied: "I was simply looking for some clarification before paying for the replacement. I was having trouble understanding your previous message. There was no animosity intended." I received no response. When I followed up again to express my safety concerns and disappointment, I was told: "Bye for good." That was the last communication. I was never rude or confrontational, just a customer trying to get a clearly defective hinge addressed. Now I'm stuck hiring another contractor to replace it, and I'm left feeling taken advantage of. This is a heavy glass panel, if it falls, it could cause serious harm. I truly wanted to support a small business and give the benefit of the doubt, but I would not recommend Steve's business based on my experience.

He helped us arrive at a suitable energy-efficient Simonton models to replace 5 of our windows at a reasonable price. He also measured all the windows to be replaced and promptly provided a written quote. Three of our replacements were for original 30+ year-old single-hung windows which were no longer functional because their balances had failed. The replacement Simonton windows have a better design that obviates the need for such balances, which was of added value to me! The total window order, measured and made to order, was received by JWG within 3 weeks and installed within 1 week. JWG Windows arrived just minutes before the scheduled time for installation. We were fortunate to have a second installation crew (Alex and Ricky) join the first crew (EJ and Cody) during the installation process, which allowed the entire job to be done within 2.5 hours. These two teams operated smoothly together in good spirits, were respectful of our property (using drop cloths in each work area) and cleaned up the work areas. After they were installed, EJ demonstrated the windows' operating features, provided me with the manufacturer's warranty and answered my questions.
