He personally went to my home to check my measurements and scheduled a prompt install that worked around my countertop install. Juan, Ken, and Tian did a wonderful job on the install - everything was level, plumb, and sturdy, and everything fit perfectly despite the level of customization required. The cabinets are very good quality, made of solid wood and sturdy hardware. I would use Cabinets and More again in a heartbeat. Their personal customer service, careful installation, and quality product at a fair and reasonable price is something you can't find elsewhere.

They didn't put the tile underneath the dishwasher and if you remove the kick plate you can clearly see they never even cleaned up underneath. Even though they had measurements of our over, there is an inch gap on one side between the countertop and the oven. Biggest issue is the countertops that we purchased through them. After 6 months, area around the kitchen sink area. We have been very careful about wiping down the area but yellowish water stains are definitely there.

Later, we saw Nghiep's work at a friend's home where he had custom-made and installed all her kitchen cabinets. We were extremely impressed with how gorgeous the cabinets looked and functioned -- beautiful dove tails, true soft close, solid high quality wood. Our friend herself found Nghiep the same way we did -- seeing his work first hand when visiting a colleague's home. I was a bit nervous seeing some of the negative reviews online (or lack thereof) and so we interviewed a couple other cabinetry companies alongside. However, after meeting Nghiep in person and discussing the project, we felt confident we would get the same stellar results as our friend's kitchen and decided to go ahead with ASAP Custom Cabinets. He knew exactly what I was trying to achieve from my rough sketch and gave great suggestions -- including matching the front details of our existing kitchen cabinetry. Pricing was reasonable and he uses only high quality materials. We did not have any communication issues as per other reviews -- sometimes it was hard to understand him when talking over the phone but he was very responsive over text. We even visited his workshop to see the piece in progress and discuss colors, and we were thoroughly impressed with the quality. On installation date, his crew was very meticulous, tidy, and professional. They checked in with us frequently to ensure it was to our liking, and made lots of little tweaks to ensure it was perfect. Our floors & ceilings were not level which caused some issues, but Nghiep was able to solve most of those adjustments on-site. He needed to recut a longer piece so he came back the next day to finish the job. Nghiep is a true master craftsman! I highly recommend! P.S. We have used ASAP Cabinets 6 times over the past 20 some years on different properties but this…read moretime will be the last. The quality and service attitudes don't exist any longer. Don't be a nice guy trusting what he promised and don't pay before the completion of the work after a thorough inspection of the work. As the pictures shown, hiding bad workmanship and he pretends nothing happened. After I noticed the coverups, he said "no one can see that and if you don't like it, you can pull the frame off". The other picture shows his 2nd attempt to fix the uneven mill but ended up with 2 pieces. When asked, he admits he messed up the measurement but refused to replace that and said that is normal and he does that type of butt-joint all the time! Nip came and did templates for the job twice but still messed up the cabinets with angles. Be prepared to pay for drywall work and paint touchup where the cabinets came in short and can't be covered with trims. On this job, - I lost my laundry chute because he said it is hard he can't do it after the installation. - He messed up the measurement and the cabinets came in short. We ended up extending the ceiling pop-ups. - The wall cabinets were not installed level and we ended up shimming the exhaust fan; the backsplash has to be cut in the way to accommodate the cabinets. - the floor cabinets with angle was manufactured wrong and it sits more than 2" away from the wall. He covered it up with supporting plywood for the countertop. That was not discovered until the pre-fab countertop slab installation. I have to say the cabinets look nice but i don't want to deal with the frustration and his bad attitude again.

I cannot stress enough how much of a mistake it was to choose San Diego Custom Cabinets for our kitchen cabinets on an Encinitas project. The workmanship is absolutely appalling (bad). The cabinets started showing signs of wear and tear within just a year. Some panels (dishwasher) corroded and started peeling. The gaps between panels were uneven and unsightly at time of build but especially over time became worse, and to top it all off, the cabinets have actually changed color over time, going from a dark brown (walnut) to a tiger orange. It's obvious all materials were of the cheapest and lowest quality, but beyond that the company's response to these issues was to push back and simply state the warranty period had expired. I should add, it was not only the faces of the cabinets that failed miserably, but the boxes were poorly constructed, including cheap/failing hardware (like the trash pull out which constantly fails (hardware becomes loose and needs to be manually tightened monthly). At this point, we've had no choice but to demolish the entire cabinetry system. We have incurred massive costs (since prices have dramatically changed) and our clients are displaced during this demo period. I'm beyond disappointed with this purchase and this company and would strongly advise anyone considering this company to look elsewhere. As a company and brand, we will not be working with SD Custom Cabinets in the future. We will not be endorsing them. And if actual or prospective clients ask for our vote of confidence or recommendation, we will point them to this review.
