The sales manager, Mike Deutsch, made my experience demo-ing and eventually buying loudspeakers (O Audio's Frigg 02) what it should be: a pleasure. Mike didn't push against my stated preference for other components that were only available elsewhere, offered an attractive deal, made good on all promises and balanced a reasonable level of salesmanship with knowing when not to push. He contributed valuably to my decision-making with his personality, colorful stories, useful info and, I believe, honesty. Oh... and he replied to my follow-up texts quickly and at odd hours, and in a spirit of service. All of that made me feel he deserved a review - something I don't do often. I've shopped at various high-end audio showrooms in Manhattan and other cities over the years, and know from disappointing experiences that it's more than occasionally a dicey business. HiFi Loft uniquely hit all the high notes. (Unusual venue, by the way: first floor of a brick townhouse on a mostly residential block.)

I reached out to a few places, but Canal Sound & Light were the only ones who could do it. That was my lucky break. Saturday before the event, the venue calls to say their HVAC system is busted and they need to move us to a different location down the street. Canal Sound & Light were awesome throughout. Even though I'd never organized a meeting like this, they identified what we needed, gave us a reasonable quote for it, made themselves available for setup and teardown before/after the event, and even adjusted the equipment rental and pricing on the fly when they realized we didn't need a TV because the new venue had one in place already. Everyone was super nice, clearly knew what they were doing, and yet never talked down to me. And the sound was so good, the remote participants could hear us better than we could hear each other in the room. @_@ The event was August 2022, but I realized I never wrote a review. They totally deserve 5 stars. I hope they never go out of business.

Placed an online order for an item. Never received a confirmation email. Strike 1…read more A week goes by and my credit card authorization hasn't turned into a charge and still no email so i call. Was told that the product just arrived at the warehouse and would be shipped out that day. Strike 2 -- dont show an item as in stock if you didn't already have it in stock. Two days later, still no email or tracking info, so I have to call again. Strike 3. This time was told by a different guy that my order was refunded because it was out of stock. But I check online and the product is showing as in stock still with a price 2x what I paid (now in line with the rest of the online sphere's pricing) -- idk how many strikes to count for these events but it would be several. Why am I being lied to? Why have I had to reach out every time instead of proactive communication from the retailer? Why was my purchase price not honored like any good retailer would? On top of that, the guy I spoke to the second time offered to have the guy from call #1 contact me as he was the one running point on all this of this and of course I never received a call. Bunch of lying cowards at the fulfillment department of this company. Everything you dont want in a customer experience. Would never spend a dime supporting a business like this.

I have purchased headphones, IEMs, and Dac/Amps from Audio46. Each time, I went in expecting to buy a specific product but after demoing and hearing the staff's recommendations I walked out with something I liked even better. That said, they do not try to upsell. For example, they suggested the ifi hip dac when I was purchasing a dac/amp for the first time, and the chord mojo 2 over the higher priced hugo 2, even though I was open to either.

Elliot was super busy that day and let us fully enjoyed what they have to offer which was just incredible systems. At the end of the day Elliot was such great hosts and chatted with us about his showroom. Many hifi stores have a poor snobbish attitude, not Elliot and his team. They know their stuff and how to treat customers properly. Highly recommended.
