I just had my oil changed on my 2018 chevy equinox. The last oil change was from Rhinelander GM for a pre certified oil change and tire rotation. The oil change place I just took it to today showed me the drain plug that was over tightened the head of the drain plug was hanging on by a thread to the threaded part of the drain plug. I was lucky that this held as long as it did because I would have lost all my oil and ruined my engine. I will never take my vehicle back for anything. Unfortunately this is not the only time they have messed up on a oil change. My finance took her 2017 equinox there also for a oil change. Days later she smelled oil very strong. I looked at the oil cap that sits on top of the engine. There was oil all over and down the block. I bought a new oil filter and seal. I unscrewed the oil cap and the seal was cross threaded and half the seal was missing. (No idea where it went they said). They offered a new oil change and a coupon for another oil change to make up for what they did. They gave her the run around when she asked if the rubber seal was still somewhere in the engine. The service manager said he was going to call my finance cause she was not satisfied and he never did. She never did you use her free oil change. I wonder why? read more

Purchased a 2015 Ford Taurus from Rhinelander GM. Dani was very helpful when I first called with questions on the car I was looking at purchasing and even took some pictures for me. Bryan is excellent at the financing part of the sale and Paul took the time to go over the options in the car when it came time to pick it up. However, there were a couple negatives which kept me from giving them a 5. Even though the oil was changed, the technician neglected to reset the button and now every time I start the car, I need to press the OK button so I don't have to look at the change oil soon message on the dash. Rhinelander is 80 miles away so I am not going to drive that far just to get it reset. The bigger negative was the dent in the driver's door. I know it is not a brand new car, but there is a dent in the driver's door that I didn't like. In speaking with Dani, it was going to looked at and fixed before I picked it up. So, I paid for the car and was picking it up the following week. I was contacted after they looked at the dent and was told the dent couldn't be completely removed. Was very disappointed. read more

Purchase expereince was great... happy with the trade and purchase price, they even put the truck on the lift for me to take a look at when I requested because there was some oil spots I was concerned about on the frame, everything checked out ok (I'm thinking the truck had some front damage at somepoint given the bumber and hood is miss-alligned slightly and the oil looked like transmission fluid from the transmission cooler). Salesman took the time to walk be throughout the dealership to introduce me to parts, service, and quicklube, even though I was an out of town buyer and may not frequent the dealership for service after the purchase. I felt like a valued customer. was offered coffee and cookies as I walked in the door even though I didn't drink coffee it showed they cared. I've recommended to my father-in-law already to look at this dealership when he looks to purchase his next truck. read more

Rhinelander GM services my GM Yukon XL. However, my Mercedes-Benz S500 required a four-wheel alignment, which I normally have performed at a M-B dealer some 50 miles away. Joe Lovelace, of GM Rhinelander's service department, volunteered to have a service tech examine the M-B to determine if he could perform the alignment with the dealer's recently purchased Hunter equipment--no charge if he couldn't do it. The tech obtained the M-B's alignment specs, checked for any needed parts, e.g. shims, and successfully aligned the car. All the while, Joe kept me informed of the progress and provided a print-out of the results. This was the first time the tech had aligned a M-B and required more time than is usual for the service. Nevertheless, Joe charged me for a standard four-wheel alignment. Kudos to Joe and the tech. read more

I brought my 1999 Camry in for new tires and an alignment. They were very straightforward with me about my vehicle requiring another part to complete the alignment. I gave the go ahead and the vehicle goes down the road straight as an arrow. I also had the car in for a tuneup as well, it was running a little rough, their technician diagnosed the issue which was an easy fix. Car runs great now. I will be taking the car to Montana this summer and Alaska in the fall. I trust their service techs very much and take my car there for all my tuneups and service needs. I avoid having vehicles repaired at dealerships if I can. It never seems to work out for me as the dealerships invariably find a way to claw a few extra bucks out of my cheap ass. In this instance I had no choice. The vehicle in need of repair pretty much had to go to the doctor that delivered it. The service writer (John?) was very friendly and communicative. Something I greatly appreciate when compared to other service writer people I've been exposed to.
