Really nice place for a convention. I was there for the 2014 Eastern Region PLRB and had an absolutely trouble-free visit. There are well marked North and South parking lots that both funnel you into the Convention Center. The building is connected to the Omni Hotel, Providence Place Mall, and other nearby attractions by a series of well marked skywalks, so it's really hard to get lost. The Convention Center complex is beautiful, with huge open spaces. sweeping escalators, and a bank of full height glass windows to let the light in and showcase downtown. The meeting rooms were well marked, the breakfast service was very good, the meeting rooms were comfortable and easily located. Parking was $12 for most of a day. Yay, I'm a fan.

Went to the Providence Art Show recently as a participant of a Yelp event. The convention center is conveniently located across the street from the Providence Place mall. The art show was huge and there was a moderate audience present. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available for sale, as well as faddish snacks. Some of the exhibitors allowed photos of their art, others did not, so you had to ask, and it limited my photos significantly. I would recommend the show organizers come up with a general policy next time.

This is a beautiful venue with multiple floors, nice seating nooks in the corners near floor to ceiling windows, and easily accessible facilities on each side of the building. Catering is amazing as well, great presentation, fresh ingredients, and staff continuously keep the areas clean and well maintained during an event. Bottom floor is an official Providence visitors' center, where you can go for information on the local scene, grab some maps, etc. Conveniently at the entryway so you don't have to venture too far inside. Great location in the heart of the city, and there are many good restaurants, cafes, and hotel options for visitors with varying budgets. Only qualm is the incredibly slow internet access when you're there for official business. Pro-tip: bring a personal wifi device if you have some heavy duty email/attachments to meddle with during your visit.

Great venue with ample space and cheap parking next door. Well maintained, and a great spot for any convention or event.

They have a huge balcony that overlooks the river and a ground level patio that walks right out to the river boardwalk. We were able to enjoy Providence's Water Fire with private, front row seats. It was a priceless experience Despite all of that, the interior spaces are very, very small and oddly shaped, making it very hard to move during an event. It also makes it very difficult for the staff to maneuver in between tables, causing a major traffic jam when it comes to meal time. I'm not sure what happened when we were there, but there were MAJOR delays and mix ups during our event. So much so that the wait staff actually forgot to serve our entire table. By the time the realized this, they served us ice cold food that was over cooked, over salted, and actually inedible. The hosts of our event tried to correct it by offering to comp our table a round of drinks. But at that point we were all so disappointed and turned off by the entire experience that we all decided to leave two hours before the end of the event. Skyline at Waterplace has the potential to be incredible. But until they make some major changes, it's not a place I can recommend.

The view is a view you can see without eating here. Overall it's a solid meh. But then the service was poor. Our server was very friendly but disappeared chatting with a nearby table for long soars of time. We could see her, but we couldn't get her attention so waters stayed unfilled and such. And when we asked for separate checks with was a TRAGEDY. Huge deal about how they don't do it and the can't do it but they'll do it this time and then here's some guilt with your checks. The manager came over and shamed us for our wanting to use separate forms of payment too. Separate checks stopped being a big deal in the 90s. In the 90s there was easy to use POS tech to do separate checks. And then they added gratuity (without telling us or noting it anywhere) so the bit about how people don't right with separate checks was uncalled for. There is zero chance I'll ever go back here. But. Again. The appetizers were good.

She continued to be so helpful and excited, giving recommendations for all kinds of vendors we'd need.
